Zoo Med Wood Tortoise House

Cute and well made. We use it for our very small desert tortoise on our patio until he is big enough to safely survive in the yard. It is a little too large for him, but well designed and looks nice enough on the patio.

I had been looking to order the Tortoise House for a long time but could never make the plunge. Im glad I did! Was able to construct it alone with only a screwdriver. I wish I had a drill, but it was manageable without one. The directions are fairly clear and there are videos for the DIY construction on Youtube and Petcos website. My tortoise LOVES his new environment. Ive rested the heat lamp on top of the wire and it hasnt been a problem. The space is nice, I wish the hideaway space was a bit smaller so he has more room to roam and still has the option of using the sleeper box.

I have two of these and my torts love them. Super straightforward and easy to assemble, even with a cheap little battery powered drill. Bonus points: the house smelled AMAZING while we were assembling them.

The tortoise house is perfect for a small tortoise. The divided space gives the turtle space to either get some sun or find a hiding space.

These are awesome. Weve had one for a year and now getting a second one to add to the first. They work well and hold up. These arent big enough for most tortoises unless theyre young. Ours outgrew it in a year and in another will outgrow 2 together.

Absolutely the worst made wooden box animal home ever!!! The wood is not finished so expect splinters and grate is sharp so sharp it cut my fingers when I opened it. Instructions are minimal. It states you need a screwdriver only. Absolutely wrong! It took me from 1:00 to 3:30pm to build it. Im usually really quick in building items. Most pieces did not have screw guide holes and I had to break through 2 wood pieces to put them together multiple times. My hands are red and painful from all the screwdriving in that i have to ice then. The chrome screwdriver I was using is now stripped. Aside from this, I have a defective major wall piece. Instead of being straight it is curved which prevents me from latching the grated top in both parts. The side wall that is supposed to allow for a second house to be attached goes in but the top sides have gaps on each side due to the curved wall. I would send back but after putting this together once I will never do it again.

I was very impressed with the quality of this product. This is a huge space upgrade for my tortoise, and the looks arent too bad. Took a little effort to put together, but its weatherproof and durable. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a small tortoise.

Dont even try to get it. You are going to try to return it and after is put together you gonna end up like me putting it in the trash.
