The router is not consistent and web pages randomly hang. The technical support is very poor. I would not recommend this router.

I purchased this router to replace a TPLink rounter that was 6 years old. My wife was complaining about connectivity inside the house, so I looked at a few reviews and decided to splurge on this one. Hopefully it will be current, and working for the next 10 years.

products arrived on time well sealed in original box. It is a rock solid product loaded with security features. Before i ordered mine, i read a lot of bad review about this router. it is not a router for someone that does not have the basic knowledge about networking. VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT when set this router up, use a hard wire while keeping your WIFI OFF. IF you decide to split your signal you better know what you are doing.. EXCELLENT ROUTER

Ive had multiple issues in one year with my router. ASUS support is terrible. Still under warranty and being charged to return it to be fixed - for a second time.

Bugs... My main reason for upgrading my router to an AX capable one is to see improved speeds from wired LAN to my 5Ghz enabled desktop. There is a bug that prevents traffic from passing from 5Ghz to LAN and LAN to 5Ghz. You cannot even ping across the interfaces. If you switch to 2.4Ghz pings work, computers can see each other. If I was only browsing the internet this would not be a problem for me. However I routinely move very large files around. Both stock firmware and Merlin firmware have this bug. This is not the first AX router Ive seen this issue on. Beware if you need this function!

This is a great router with plenty of features. Lots of ethernet ports, you can setup the AiMesh if you want even more coverage. Compared to other consumer routes I have owned, ASUS usually blows them all away in terms of feature set and UI. I flashed the Merlin firmware on it to get even more control, and I have had issues such as the either the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wifi crashing, and weird connection issues with games. I have not figured out whether that is the 3rd party firmware or the router, so I wont hold it against ASUS. I keep Merlin for the additional features it adds, but if youre not into that or not comfortable with that by all means keep the stock firmware provided by ASUS. It is great and does everything and more for the average user!

Only minor complaint is that it couldve come with more RAM, considering its feature set. Incredibly capable, best feature set Ive seen, and easy setup. Especially useful for Guest networking and great client management.

What a piece of junk! Wifi at 5G intermittent at best. Loses WAN connection 10 times daily. No phone support, just chat and they are terrible. I asked for a link to a manual that explains all the settings for every page of settings in the router interface and was told they dont have it - it is just a trial and error kind of thing. They must be kidding me. I am returning it and getting a NetGear router. This is my last Asus purchase!!
