The routers wifi lag issues increased in the past week and now the radio is so weak now you only get 1 bar next to router. Only had it for 7 months. Old Asus routers had a more stable quality control and firmware. First time Asus disappointed me on a product.

So far so good! Great speed and low latency for gaming and streaming hd video! Our house is 4 bed 3 bath 2 story and we have signal in every part with great speed. I would recommend this router

Its a known issue with heat and the wifi on this particular unit, this is now my 2nd one in 2 years. Overheating the 2.4ghz section killed it about a year ago, so this time Ive installed a couple of small 5vdc fans on the top of the unit (fans are now powered by its usb port on the back). Seems to be stable for temps but not taking any chances at this point and have turned the power down to power saving on 2.4 and balanced on 5ghz.

This is a modern, very fast, high-end router. Im a little sorry that soon, probably before the end of this year, the latest Wi-Fi 7 class routers will appear on the retail market. Yes, I know that they will be very expensive at first, but still ... I quickly set up this router. It has a lot of settings, the router is just stuffed with functions. The router does not support 10-gigabit ports, but one 2.5-gigabit port is enough for me. I have one problem so far and it is that my Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8+ could not see the 6 GHz network of this router. And my PC on the MSI X570S motherboard perfectly saw this 6 GHz network. My smartphone and tab are fine. Obviously, it is necessary to reconfigure the 6 GHz network on the router thoroughly and once again.

I love the product easy installation, easy password set up for the two wireless networks and it works great. The 5 GHz easily goes through my floor to reach my basement with full signal strength, and the basement is finished so the signal is going through extra lights and ceiling tiles. We have a single story with basement about 2400 sq feet in each level. And the router in in the corner of the house and the wi-fi easily goes though my whole house. My old router had very weak signal downstairs sometimes good but mostly bad. I couldnt be much happier with my new router. Now I just have to wire my house to cat 7 or 8 cable, because my cat 6 cable is running across the floor and has some big cuts in it.

Very disappointed in this router. All of my routers have been Asus and I have loved them! That being said this routers wifi signal is extremely unstable. I have a smart home my light switches and tvs are constantly dropping connection which is very frustrating. This is an expensive router and while the signal is powerful... It doesnt do any good if it continually is dropping the signal or slowing down to an extremely slow pace. I am constantly having to switch between 5g and 2.5 just to see which one is deciding to work in that moment.

My family is very tech oriented for the most part, but in terms of understanding from day-in to day-out of networking needs, that seems to fall on me. As more and more tech was involved, more and more I noticed the router was being heavily bogged down. In a way, it makes sense that the RT-AC68 was meant for general purpose use, but I had all the extra bits of security added to it and it was showing its age. Naturally, one would think the AX68 should do, but unfortunately, its roughly the same CPU as the AC68 so the upgrade would be just WiFi radio. I have thought about the AX86 or AX82, but eventually found myself drawn to this AX88 for a while, especially because of the wifi range and the port availability.

I have Gig speed internet. I couldn’t get Gig speed or close to it over WiFi even when I’m standing next to the router. I average about 650Mbps.
