This router is awesome, but many older devices don’t work with it (even after turning off the AX features)... most of my smart plugs from the past 3-4 years are “not compatible with this router”.

Got this router 1 day ago, brand new. Been struggling hours ever since to access it or get it to connect. ASUS Support services supplied a few directions on how to solve the problem, but it seems they are simply working off a checklist and not hearing what I am telling them - some call center abroad with people who cant speak proper English. Finally got fed up and decided to return it. So much for quick and easy installation.

I love the Asus user interface unfortunately my router frequently drops my connection. I can’t keep my WeMo smart plugs connected for more than a couple of days at a time despite scheduling automatic reboots at 3 AM. When playing video games sometimes my ethernet connection drops for no good reason. I have tried disabling all the AI protection and features which sort of defeats the purpose of the router anyway but they still did not stop the problems.

El router me ha dado un excelente servicio y fue muy fácil de configurar, incluso sin ser un experto. Lo recomiendo, especialmente si tienes dispositivos compatibles con WiFi6 y un ancho de banda de mínimo 200 Mbps.

Works great initially without issues. My understanding of the warranty is shaky but all to say that this router comes with a 3 year warranty but I was told that amazon offers a 2 year warranty in its place. Thus when the router simply wont turn on anymore (power light comes on followed by fourth light and then shuts off) within 2-3 years of owning it I was told that I had the 24 month warranty.

As some have written, this model is good for smaller locations, such as a condo/apt or smaller home. It has much weaker (and slower!) signal on the old reliable 2.4 GHz band. Here it is no longer that reliable.

Sweet spot of price and features with great wireless range. We are absolutely maxing out our fiber connection from the 2.5 gigabit WAN port, and the 5ghz WiFi reaches every corner of our very walled-in condo with speeds reliably around 400-500 megabits. I don’t have any 6E devices, yet, to test the WiFi 6E, but I plan on ordering an ASUS PCI-E adapter, soon. Setting up the router was easy – I plugged in the CAT6 cable and it automatically detected our ISP’s DHCP settings and walked me through setting up the WiFi networks breezily. Couldn’t be more pleased to have chosen the ASUS RT-AXE7800.
