Greater than one weekI chose this auto pet feeder for the lockability. My young kitten would probably one day want to destroy it. In my search for a feeder I couldnt find one that would tell me what the portion amount is. Not wanting to overfeed my cat is a concern and I wanted to make sure that I know how much shes getting. So far for the PETLIBRO the portions seem arbitrary. I sat and played with it and a single portion seems small. Every other rotation doesnt drop food into the bowl so I landed on 5 portions, but that seems to be too much. Now Im working my way backward on portions to see how that does. The instructions for set up are also a little confusing. I think I figured it out now. I also wish there was a dimmer to the screen brightness. My cat doesnt need her food illuminated.

Greater than one weekI bought 2 in total for my 2 cats. My older boy is patient and waits for his breakfast and dinner without 2 much noise. My kitten on the other hand screams like a banshee being murdered starting at 0445 and tries to break down my door to get fed earlier. This was my attempt to get him to eat a snack while I slept until 6 and not in fact murder him like he tries to act like. Both feeders arrived quickly and had everything in it. 1 of the boxes had been torn slightly where you open it and both feeders already had the dissecant bag installed which makes me wonder if I got used ones like so many other reviewers. I had no trace of kibble though. Installation was very easy but programming took a minute to figure out. They do not tell you what a portion size was and the automatic program sets it up for portion size 10 which is like 2 cups. I had to adjust to portion size 1 which is more like 1/4 cup. I’m hoping this helps my furry little demon friend be satisfied before I give him his real breakfast as well as I go out of town for a weekend trip it’s really nice to have this so I know they’ll be fed and not over eat if I just laid out a bunch of food. Overall happy with the product so far but we’ve only had it for a few days so nothing has malfunctioned yet.

> 3 dayKhyentse the cat weighs over 18 pounds and needs to lose weight, but he needs to eat all the time or his stomach gets upset. (Triaditis) This lets me spread 1/2 cup of food across 6 feedings, so he can eat every 4 hours. It lets me feed him at 4am so he doesnt wake me up! Its easy to set up. If you can program an old school digital alarm clock you can do it. And once its set up its all effortless. When its time to eat, the kibble dispenses and sounds like the jackpot on a slot machine. You dont need the voice recorder feature (which apparently isnt very good from what Ive read). It took him a day to get used to me not feeding him. Hed still bug me when he was hungry. I went over, scooped some food out of the bowl, poured it back in like I was feeding him, and he would eat it. After a day or two he got used to just feeding himself without me. I could customize the schedule, but I just have it set up for every four hours. Its great.

> 3 dayI ordered this feeder after seeing it recommended by a YouTuber, and it has been a great purchase! It wasn’t extremely clear how much was in each portion, but I got out a measuring cup and easily figured it out. It also holds a lot more food than I expected. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a small dog or cat.

> 3 dayWe bought this because our cats are insane when they’re hungry. We were hoping this would be a slam dunk but for three days in a row, our cats have figured out how to open the storage space by tipping it over. I’ve even put it against the wall and our cat still finds a way to move it and tip it. Unfortunately the storage container comes apart easily as you can see.

> 3 dayAs the headline says, bit of a learning curve to program it, but really great once you get the hang of it. Love having the automatic feeder - allows me to leave for a couple of days and not worry, as well as get in a couple more hours of sleep! It also gives me peace of mind that my cats food is regularly portioned and that she is being fed at a regular time, even when Im out of the house.

> 3 dayI really do like this feeder and it’s fairly simple to use. However, as you may have noticed from other reviews, they do not provide an actual measurement for how many cups/oz/g a “portion” contains. It literally only lets you choose how many “portions” you want to give your pet, but the instructions don’t give any measurements or conversion charts.

> 3 dayDependable feeder! Works with ease. Easy to fill and see how full it is. would be nice to have a list of how much a portion is equal to but I measured it myself. 6 portion sizes, 6 x a day feedings covers it all. For my 5 cats didn’t have to fill it for nearly 5 weeks!

> 3 dayWe got this mainly to appease our cat who, when hungry, would sit in front of the TV and block the screen, refusing to move until we fed him. This feeder was kind of a pain to set up and especially to figure out the portion size. The sizes are only marked as P with no actual measurements so you have no idea how much one P is. Eventually we just used a measuring cup to learn that P=about 1/8 of a cup. Once setup, the feeder worked great. No TV interruptions….for two weeks. It clogged once, I emptied it all out, cleaned it (this was a pain), and then it reset itself, so I thought it was fine. The next time it clogged, though, I repeated all the steps to unclog it multiple times (my fiancé did too) and it never reset. It just kept flashing that evil E. And of course this happened right before we went out of town, so we had to explain to the pet sitter that no, the fancy feeder isn’t working. And by the time we got back in town and realized it would not again, we had missed the return window. So we continue to feed the cat manually in the bowl of the feeder - a very expensive food bowl it has turned out to be. The cat still goes and sits in front of it 4 times a day, waiting for it to automatically dispense his food. And when it doesn’t, he resumes his pre-feeder behavior of sitting in front of the TV to get our attention. So now we have a spray bottle of water. This is our life.
