> 3 dayBought this for my chunky cat. I would leave for the weekend and leave him a large gravity drop feeder filled with dry food. Big guy decided he wanted to gorge himself to death and gained a ton of weight. The only alternative I could think of was an auto feeder to control his diet. It works amazingly. On or around the time its supposed to drop its portions (often delayed a min or a min early to drop.) Im not very fond of the portion sizes though. It drops small amounts. I had to up my cats portions from SIZE: 2 to SIZE: 3. Size 2 fed barely a hand full. With my cat getting 2 portions 4 times a day, he was still starved. He was fed, but not to his standards. He would eat into bread bags, bacon bits bags, and anything that looked edible to him. When I increased his size to 3 for 3 meals a day at normal human meal time hours, his cravings went down. The biggest thing I do not like about this unit is that it isnt completely fool proof. My cat was actually learning to press the touch sensor buttons on the outside of the unit to unlock the unit and then gorge himself all over again. I heard the unit drop food one day at 10:34am. I thought that was strange as his feeding time wasnt until 12 noon. 6 minutes later it happened again. I went into the kitchen to investigate and watched him press the buttons with his to unlock the unit, then to drop his food. Needless to say, the feeder is now covered and taped off with cardboard to reduce his buffet style eating habits. I read on other reviews about the MIC recording and how annoying it is. *If you never set the MIC recording up, youll never have to hear it!*

> 3 day2 portions should be 5 tsp. Its nearly a quarter cup when I measure what comes out of the dispenser. Its incredibly difficult to manage food amounts when the machine so unreliable. The difference between advertised amounts dispensed and actual amount dispensed is about DOUBLE. I programmed what should be a little less than half a cup. My cat actually gets almost a full cup of food. I was hoping this would be an everyday use item. But Im afraid its been demoted to when Im away use. Very disappointed. Would not recommend. Especially if youre trying to manage your cats weight.

> 3 dayThis works great for my cat since he doesnt know when to stop eating. If I put a bowl of food out for the day, hell eat everything in one sitting and then throw up from being too full. So, I bought this auto feeder and decided to set small portions throughout the day, multiple times a day so hes able to digest his food properly instead of regurgitating everything right after eating. Ive had it for about a year now or longer and its worked perfectly since.

> 3 dayI bought this to feed an outdoor cat and I love it! It took a while to get the correct portions down but it was easy to do. I simply fill the container with dry food and the feeder does the rest. It dispenses the right portions at the times I chose. And it is poach proof! We frequently have racoons that help themselves to the cats food and although they did eat whats was in the bowl they could not get past the locking lid! I know because their paw prints on the feeder was evidence of their tenacity to infiltrate! This is well worth the money! The cat took right to it!

> 3 dayThis feeder works great. With three cats and a dog, there is a race to the feeder when it dispenses. I purchased two more and set them to feed at the same time. Now we use less food because the cats are not binge eating in competition with each other. I ordered a 4th one for the dog today.

> 3 dayThis food dispenser is great. It’s relatively easy to program. Our cat throws up if she eats too much, so with this we feed her a smaller amount more times per day. She knows when it’s programmed to feed her, so she is waiting when it dispenses. It’s very cute. Also, she is overweight, so this helps us monitor her food intake.

> 3 dayPortion size is super small for my Sphynx cat, also the machine goes crazy and dumps all the food out at any given time. Doesn’t really keep time and I have to unplug it because my dogs will eat my cats food. Great idea just riddled with problems.

Greater than one weekFiguring out the portion sizes was the most difficult however totally worth the hassle of learning! I now no longer forget to get my kids food in the morning or if I’m in a rush I automatically know that it’s going to be taken care of if I think I’m gonna be gone for a couple days due to family vacation or just work obligations I don’t need to stress about them running out of food and it’s amazing it doesn’t get stuck or clogged and it’s cleaning is super easy and stress-free! My cat also absolutely love it they know exactly when feeding time is due to the voice call! I got to one for each cat but I know that they have double bowl options however this was just easier considering it’s twice as much food storage!

> 3 dayPerfect to allow both cats to eat at the same exact time x 5 small meals in a 24 hour period. One cat is our food gobbler and the other is a pushover so she got her food swiped all the time. Too much of a pain to remember feeding times for tiny feedings without the auto feeders. Problem solved! The reason for 4 stars is that they are tricky to set especially us trying to sync them to drop food at the exact same time and voice recorder is garbled so it sounds like a demon is calling our cats, lol
