Lixit Critter Space Pod, Perfect for Small Animals (Small)

Reusing cardboard boxes is all good and well, but they get...pretty stinky after a while. I bought two of these for my ratties; one for the male cage, one for the female cage. The girls went right to it, but the boys took a while to get used to it. It helps if you put some fleece shreds or paper towels in it to convince them that its cozy. Note: I dont know how many other peoples rats do this, but my rats will NOT pee or poop inside of their little pods. They will just push their butts out and pee/poop on the outside. As a result, the shelf beneath the pods gets...pretty nasty pretty quickly. Just something to keep in mind.

Review update: Amazon replaced my item and I didnt even have to Gayle with returning the old one. The new one fits together great and my rats love it. Original review:I just got my space pod and upon putting it together, found that the too and bottom wont stay together! The larger piece is to big or the smaller piece is too small. But theres no way I can give this to my rats because it is going to fall on them. Selling return/replace.

I have been wanting one of these for years and now that I finally have one my rats dont even use it!!! The boys I have now are worse than my cats, they are so picky about what they like to sleep in. But I know my other rats Ive had over the years would have loved something like this. Stashing it away in storage for the time being, but Im still happy with this purchase! I like that its plastic because if they pee in it or make a mess, all you have to do is wipe with a paper towel. Cant do that with a hammock!

It was recommended in a rat group I follow. Excellent purchase! We scatter some torn paper towel around and the rats pull them in to make a nest in the ball. When they were new, it was the first hiding spot they immediately took to. Now that they are comfortable in their home and happy to use multiple cozy spots it gets used less, but they still love to grab a treat and retreat to the ball to eat.

My baby rat needed somewhere to hide. This was perfect. She loves this little hidey hole.

i was happy to get this space pod for my Short Tailed Opossum...unfortunately when i opened the box and went to snap the two pieces together, i noticed quite a bit of dirt and a whole bunch of scuffs all over the main structure...almost like it had sat on the floor and been kicked around or just forgotten about under a shelf...not very happy about that...the space pod is all in one piece, as in no cracks, chips, or broken off pieces, but the scuffs and the amount of dirt on it was kind of disappointing...i will not require nor ask for a replacement as it was a simple spray it down with some non-toxic cleaner then water and i was able to wipe off the dirt...please make sure the items you send to customers are not covered in warehouse dirt and grime, and are as they left from the factory, with out scuffs...

So, my chinchilla is a little too big to use this as the pod, BUT it’s perfect when I take the inner piece out. Hers is clipped to the top of her house and she uses it as a little hang out. Exactly what I wanted to give her a little extra place for chin-chillin.

My 2 male rats loved this when I first got them at 1 month old; they would always huddle into whenever it was bed time. Theyre about 3 months old now and they may or may not be fully grown. They can both still fit in it but they dont really share it as much as they used to. Will definitely need to buy them a second one :)

My two rats love this orb! They love sleeping in it and hiding things in it. I clean it weekly with natures miracle small animal cleaner and it’s super easy. They don’t try to chew it.

My rats loved this. I thought it was super cool that you can hang it or just put it on the ground. I hung it from the top of their cage. One of the bits that hold it up broke off after about a year of having it. Its not a big deal though, since my rats seemed to like it even more with it sitting on the floor of their cage. I was kind of disappointed that I couldnt pick its colors, but its not a huge deal. Very good product.
