Lixit Critter Space Pod, Perfect for Small Animals (Small)

This house is pretty neat. I have two adult rats (one fat and one thin) and they both fit comfortably. The house itself is pretty easy to clean and the plastic is hard enough so rats cannot bite chunks of it off. The house opens in two halves so wiping or rinsing is also easy. My only negative opinion of the house is the way it clips on to the cage. The house has little hands in the pillars that grab on to the cage. If you squeeze the pillars a bit and place them under tension, the hands can grab on stronger, but when rats move around or jump on it (or if you move it while cleaning) the hands can come loose. My rats seem to love the house though, as they are always in it!

My rats ADORE it. Usually I find 2-3 in the pod during the day but sometimes they fit 4-5 in there :D After 4 weeks they have nibbled on the sides just a tiny bit but not nearly enough to hurt them or effect the pod. Just a few bite marks. They like to pull cloth bedding into it. I would choose/recommend it over any of the current small animal hammocks/hides on the market if youre looking for a place for your rats to snooze. Edit: I ordered a second pod about 2months after my first purchase and had to downgrade my review to 4 stars as the company only sent me half of the pod. Rats still love it though and amazon is sending me a new one.

This can be set on the floor or hung from the top of the cage. Our two rats took to it right away and love snuggling in it alone or together. It is easy to move and clean. We recommend it.

All our female rats absolutely love these space pods! I cant understand why local pet shops dont sell these! I think these are way better than the plastic igloos hideouts, etc. Our rats have made this their favorite spot to snooze --- rats love to be up high - so we mounted them high in their cages & added fabric inside to keep them cuddly. These pods are versatile to position & very easy to clean. Our rats do not chew them, so they are holding up perfectly. Highly recommend!!

This pod is bigger than I thought it would be, but its great! We have a Critter Nation cage and the clips didnt quite work to hang up the pod, but we just used zip ties to hang it up instead and its doing great. Plenty of space for my two rats to cuddle.

My chinchillas love this. Sometimes I even find both of them squished in together. Easy to clean, easy to take apart and put back together. I did hang it from the top of the cage but they didnt seem to use it as much as when it was on the cage floor.

I just got this a few days ago for my hedgehog. I really like it because the triangle legs fit well for corner placement. Its a bit of a tight fit for her, but she seems to prefer it that way. Really easy to clean, which is a plus. I havent tried hanging it from the top of the cage, but from the ground it is great. Not sure about IRS durability since I just got it, but its the best housing Ive gotten for her so I wont mind replacing if need be.

Our girls LOVE their pods... we had to buy two so each have their own. This is on the must list for rat parents.

Its probably my fault entirely, but this pod was much smaller than I expected it to be based on the measurements provided. In the past, Ive been notoriously incapable of predicting the sizes of these small animal accessories -- for example, I recently ordered one of those jw brand walk-up barns and it was about 3 times bigger than expected. However, based on the reviews and Questions/Answers, it sounded like it would fit not only one but 2, 3, or even 4 rats at once! Now granted, my little guy is far from petite, but he rarely uses this thing -- alone! The shape doesnt even look comfortable. I would also be worried to leave it hanging upside-down; I originally put it in that way, but it did not seem secure. I didnt trust it to hold one male rat. For what its worth, this product is certainly neat & innovative, and may be well-suited for other pet owners. Personally, though, Ill stick with the tried & true igloos and such from now on.

As we approach the warm summer months I wanted something cooler than the fleece and cotton hammocks I have for my ratties. This is perfect! I have three male rats and my boy Pepper loves it already! Super easy to assemble and clean. Highly recommend!
