> 3 dayFirst of all, I have always loved the Asus brand, so naturally I really wanted this router to work well, and I really really wanted to love it. I got one Blue Cave ac2600 router to try first, planning to add more later to make a mesh network. It works GREAT, that is IF/WHEN it works. I would consider myself a power user or an advanced user, as I have had much experience dealing with routers, including netgear, linksys, tp-link, asus, and adjusting custom firmwares like tomato, ddwrt, merlin, so I dont think I am the cause of the problems. On this Blue Cave router, I have not set up anything special. I have mostly just default settings, running wifi on a 2ghz and a 5ghz band, no guess network, not vpn tunneling or any advanced stuff yet. Anyways, about once a week, the router would just freeze. Devices connected to it stay connected to the network, however theres no internet. Devices not on it wont connect. Router access from browser/app doesnt work, and the light on the router appears normal, like nothing is wrong. When I reboot the router, everything kicks back in and internet is restored. At first, this happened about every 2 weeks, but now it happens every week and sometimes after 3,4 days. It is very frustrating and absolutely unnecessary. The logs dont show anything suspicious, it just freezes on its own. I have not looked into tomato or ddwrt firmwares for this router, and I dont think Merlin has a compatible one yet, but what is the point of buying a nice router when you HAVE TO find custom firmwares to fix problems yourself ?!?! This is very disappointing. I would stay away from this router.

> 3 dayThis is my first Asus router and I just love it. It has an extremely much better interface than other Routers Ive had. I have 50 devices connected to it so far and it is doing great. I will be buying another one to put on the other side of the house for the mesh Network

> 3 dayI have two routers. Got this one to have my sound system connected to a isolated router. The 20Mbps download speed image is this router. Both are connected to the same source and theres nothing wrong there. I will keep tinkering with it. See if I can solve the issue. But definitely would not recommend if youd like an out of the box working router.

> 3 dayIf you have fast internet this router is great. The signal strength is awesome. We live in a mobile home, and considering we essentially live in a metal box that makes it difficult to get signal, thats saying something. The problem is that customer service on the tech end was really hard to communicate with, and I dont care for being told I dont know what Im talking about, when I in fact do. There was a lot of run around before finally getting answers I needed. It gets tiring hearing a person say thank you after every sentence.

> 3 dayUsing this as a mesh WiFi system along with an Asus router and after 6 months it continually shuts itself down with no explanation. Have gone through all the troubleshooting and firmware updates with no resolution. Extremely frustrating.

> 3 dayDon’t waste your money buying ASUS routers. The mesh system is a gimmick and doesn’t even work. Go with one of the companies that have the pucks like google.

01-11-2024I purchased two of these in an attempt to augment my AIMesh network on the cheap. My AiMesh is relatively low end. I have an RT-AC86u as the host. My nodes consist of an RT-AC68u and a Lyra Voice. When I added the Blue Caves, I experienced many network issues that necessitated rebooting the host every day. Without the Blue Caves, I have yet to reboot my host in 3 weeks and am enjoying my networks performance.

> 3 dayI’m used to enjoy the wifi life with asus router since i first get the ac1900p. But now i’m suffering from terrible wifi quality of blue cave especially disconnected or disappear the ssid. So once i can’t use the 2.4 or 5ghz wifi because of shit that, i always reboot the router and finally i can use very well. This kind of action is observed twice a day or once a day.... i’m getting crazy of this.....

> 3 dayI got good connection rates, but the damn thing would reboot all the time. I modified a few settings, after reviewing the log file and got the reboots to slow down to once or twice a day, randomly, while working on taxes, while filing a patent application, skip the frustration and google responses to yeah I have that problem too. Support dances around the subject. The device is crap.

> 3 dayI need to add another node to my ASUS AImesh system. This one does kitchen and laundry things plus a Nest Doorbell Camera. Didnt need WIFI 6, and this guy connected flawlessly to amazon and google home devices and everything else. Excellent coverage, low price, and it just does the job.
