> 3 dayEnded up setting the Aimesh by wire because the wifi setup never completed, both nodes were next to each other, updated, etc... It just went through the mesh initialization and never got to the end. Wired mesh works very well. Not a single problem with that setup other than wiring my house with a 75feet net wire and crawling around my ceiling.

26-10-2024First thing is to do is to install the latest August 2018 firmware 3.0.0.4.384_32546. Very crucial to get AIMesh via Ethernet onboarding as well as MU-MIMO support. Also make sure you reset it to factory default from its GUI page or using WPS button trick.

> 3 dayI gave this item 2 stars for working relatively well for over 2 years. Loved the look, and performance was good, aside from some occasional close-range connection problems with my Roku. Now, the unit drops all connections sporatically through the day. I have dropped many internet phone calls because of this problem. I recently spent over an hour with two Asus techs. I was eventually told it needed repair and to send it to an Asus service center. Unfortunately, after following all of the techs instructions, the router was completely disconnected and he could not help me reconnect it. I was left to spend the rest of the afternoon re-installing the unit from scratch.

> 3 dayDo not purchase this gimmick of a router. Asus makes great products, but this unit is garbage. After updating the firmware, it will crash your network and kick you off your own wifi. The only way to recover is to factory reset the router. If you reboot after factory reset, your network will crash again and lock you out same as before. The cycle continues. The same issue occured on both routers I purchased.

> 3 daySo far its been solid, like youd expect from an Asus router. Glad to see Asus upgraded their AC1750 model from the ac66u. While I still cant find details on the processor in this new unit, it must be an upgrade.
