I live in an area that AC is not normal. But my bedroom is upstairs so on any sunny day the room is hot, summer, unbearable. I have always used the double window fans you get at the local hardware store, and they are better than nothing, but basically worthless, not too mention loud. I stumbled on this, I read the reviews, found them to be mixed, but decided to pull the trigger anyway. It is pretty spendy, but I have to say, I believe it was worth every penny. I love the lower profile, and the air blows deep into the room, unlike the others that seem to not make it much past about a foot. The sound on its highest level (4) is whisper quiet. I get real air draw on the out, and it flips with a double tap of the remote. I do not use the temp control. Now, while I give it 5 stars, and I recommend it, and love it, there is a design flaw, and that is in the foam blocks for getting a seal around it. I def had to mcgyver it a bit. They are basically stupid, but better than nothing. There are several reviews that discuss them, and honestly, they are not wrong. However, dont let it deter you from a great fan.

By far this is the best window fan I have ever owned. Quiet enough to run all night while sleeping, sets up easily, has multiple speeds, reverses direction with a touch of a button, looks good and even has a nice simple remote. Another overlooked feature is that when turned off, the fan mechanism rotates to a closed position to block air coming in or out. I have seen other reviews say it costs too much but you get what you pay for. This fan blows away the competition.

Ive ordered this fan three times. The first and third time was fine, and thats what this review is about. The fan works great. Climate control and remote are awesome futures, but Ive bought the fan mainly because of the exhaust future. One-click of a button and any smoke/vape is out. Now the bad. As other reviewers said, the foam spacers arent the best. The way Ive solved this problem - is the Airconditioner Weatherseal Kit from Home Depot. One piece of urethane foam below and one above the fan will seal it well. And the third piece goes in-between the windows. Also, try to squeeze in the foam pieces (that come with the fan) during an installation. Use the ones that are 1/4 to 1/2 inch larger (per window) than needed. Theres no point in them being there if theyre loose. Finally, about my second (faulty) order. Ordered a Vornado Transom window fan and received a steam cleaner instead. I called Amazon support, and they told me to return it, and everything will be fine. So I returned it to Kohls. After Amazon processed my return, they issued a refund. I thought that was the end of it. But, after two months, Amazon charged me again because they havent received a FAN back. How am I supposed to return an item Ive never received? This is an ongoing issue that is not relevant to the Vornado fan. So It doesnt affect my rating.

The shims used to hold in window are worthless at best, fan works as advertised make sure you have a screened in window alot of gaps.

I use it for a year as an exhaust fan for a bathroom window. So far so good. The fan is not as strong, but with slight opening of the door when showering and the fan turn on to highest setting, no molds on walls or ceiling so far. Im looking to buy a replacement or something with higher speed because I notice the fan speed is weaker than it was new a year ago.

Works great and looks decently clean in the window. Took a while to figure out how to get it to fit in properly since the instruction manual doesnt explain much, but I eventually got it in properly and it works with the semi-permanent window screens in my apartment. Some criticism: Temp control seems only useful when its cold outside otherwise your room will never drop to the temp you set. There should be a timer for the warmer months when youll be using air conditioning. No timer also means you either run it the entire time youre not home or not at all. Not very useful as I smoke in my room. For some reason the foam on top of the fan doesnt span the entire length so you dont get a complete seal. I used some stick on foam strips to fill in those gaps. I also had to use tape on the sides since there is a slight gap. I like the foam blocks but every window is different so you cant always get the clean look. The remote that comes with it also works with the vornado tower fan I have, and the remote for that also works with this fan. To avoid them interfering I placed the fans on opposite sides of my bedroom. Seems like a silly problem to have with a brand like Vornado. Overall it works great for my needs. It doesnt take up too much vertical space like the ones with traditional fan blades. Ill probably buy another one if they make a new version with a timer.

Id love to give this a stellar review. Does what it says, not a lot of noise. Cant complain too much, especially since theres very little on the market like this. Just want to put a few points in that made me give 3 stars instead of five. * Of the two units we bought, one was missing a remote * If you look at the picture, you can tell that the foam blocks arent the full height of the unit with the foam strip on top; bugs are going to get in. I dont know why they didnt make the blocks taller. Huge oversight. * The so-called weatherproofing isnt. You can see a lot of light filter through. You will have to take this out once it moves to colder temperatures. Otherwise, the UI is pretty good. My favorite is that the display turns off and the power light dims when in use, but no setttings changed. Very good at night when you dont want light distractions. I didnt think the noise was that much, especially compared to other window units Ive had. We did not have any problems with install. Keep the blocks close to your hand. I was easily able to hold on to the unit while I inserted the blocks. Maybe you need two people, but dont get scared off by the reviews saying its hard—you do have to force them in and thats actually good. We also used these on window frames made in 1910. All in all, great unit, assuming you get the remote and the blocks work for you.

Very happy with the product and this purchase. Low noise levels and air output is fine. Fits perfectly in my window using included blocks. Absolutely no complaints. I have double hung windows and use a window wedge to ensure the fan and blocks are nice, snug and secure.

For starters, I never received the instructions in the box. Although, I think the unit was brand new, and never used. I think it was probably a return, and was being resold as new. Just my thoughts, because of the lack of instructions and the ability to send in a warranty card. I hope this last long time and it remains safe. Also, the remote is not working. How would I ever contact customer service? This bothers me a lot but I love the concept and it is working for me right now. I would like to have a new remote , that works.
