> 3 dayContrary to what some reviewers claim, this fan absolutely works with screened windows. It is super easy to install and works well - we have one in our master bedroom and it pulls a nice breeze through. I only wish it offered a higher volume of air (more CFM), and were Alexa-compatible. I see that there was a smart variant of this fan available from Vornado and I hope they bring it back. However it isnt perfect; the power cable comes out of the chassis at the bottom of the unit and interferes with the mounting pad, so you need to resort to crushing the cable. I suspect that after a sufficiently large number of install/removal cycles this does present a risk of short and possible fire hazard. The exit point for the power cord really should be moved completely away from the mounting pad. I am deducting two stars for this because there will inevitably be some person who will not notice this issue and will sever the cord causing a short in their house. This is a design and manufacturing flaw which should by all rights result in a recall of this fan. Since I am aware of the issue and take care to hold the cord out of the way and will drill a new hole and reroute the cord if/when the insulation starts to show signs of fatigue/wear, I am comfortable using the fan, but many people would never even notice the cord is being stressed at the mounting pad on the sash, and run into problems.

> 3 dayI purchased this fan to replace a cheaper one that didn’t even live for a year. This one is so much better! It is a little loud when on full blast, but if you just want some air circulation, it’s not bad at all. I have tested the temperature control, it worked as intended. The fan looks good, works well. Can’t complain about anything.

> 3 dayIts a nice fan and all but I bought this fan mainly for the convenience of the auto-temperature control. Unfortunately, this feature is WORTHLESS because the fan reads the outside temperature. For example, the other night the fans control panel was reading 58 degrees but the temperature in my room was almost 70. With such a big deviation between outdoor and indoor temperature, this fan does a poor job of regulating the temperature in a room. Its a nice fan and all, but youre going to have to turn it on and off manually. You cant really rely on the temperature control.

> 3 dayFirst one I bought, arrived, tested it out before even installing in window, power came on all buttons worked but the fan never spun or even made a sound like it wanted to spin. Was disappointed!!! Decided Id try one more time. Sent the first one back, new one came in 2 days and this one worked fine. It is quieter than any twin window fan I have. I love the fact I cant see out through it and no on can see in so it offers great privacy. Im still tweaking the installation, the window I have it in isnt wide so there was only about 3/4 inch on either side. The blocks they give you to install on each side I had never seen before, and I could put the smallest on on one side, but the other smallest one was too thick to fit in the other side. I ended up taking a box cutter and cutting as deep as I could vertically on the front and back of the block, then took a smooth butcher knife and just sliced right through it. Took about 2 min and it fits great. My problem is in the window I have it in the fan doesnt fit ALL the way down - it goes down enough to lock it in place, but because of that I have about a 1/4 in little hole at the bottom where the expander blocks go against the fan - I will cut a piece of the extra blocks and fill in the hole. Over all Im very pleased with this fan, it looks great in the window, blocks air when turned off, does a great job of bringing in fresh air, or exhausting air, and is quieter than I expected. It is quieter than my bathroom exhaust fan which has a very low Sone rating. I will be ordering another one.

Greater than one weekI recently started sublimation as a new craft. The fumes are not healthy and I needed a good way to exhaust right at the table where the sub ink is being heated. This fan is perfect for that. It fits in the bottom of the window where I have my heat press. A caveat is that it is not airtight. As my craft room gets the hottest of the afternoon summer sun and we air condition the rest of the house, this was not a good thing. The foam spacers they provide do a decent job but, in my window anyway, they would possibly let in small insects as well as heat. This is not a problem for me, as the fan is simple to install and remove and I just do such when I am ready to sublimate. If your house is not air conditioned, then it would be a simple thing to use foam board or something similar to cover the small gaps between the foam spacers to keep insects out. It all depends on your situation and what you want it to do. Its a nice little fan. I do not regret the purchase. ;-)

> 3 dayI really like the slim design. But I was disappointed with how little air this fan moves compared to the more typical (and uglier) window units with two round fans—even at the max speed setting (4). I use it at night to cool down the room when the outside temperature drops, but its not working very well ... not surprising given how little air it pushes. It is also louder than I was expecting, with a bit of a clicking/whirring sound—even at the lowest speed setting (1). Once again, louder and more annoying than the white noise from the typical 2-round fan models. In summary: + great looks/design - does not move much air, not great for cooling even a small room - noisier than traditional window fans I am quite disappointed because I really wanted to like this product ... perhaps I received a faulty unit.

> 3 dayremote battery failed after 2 days- i replaced it. other than that its a nice fan, Quiet. can suck outside air in or blow inside air out with just a touch. Can be placed in and out of the window easily. the blocks that come with it are weird. they dont snap together or anything. I just used cardboard to block the rest of the window.

> 3 day1st off, a warning that this fan is designed for a window with a low lower lip (.25 to .50). I have double hung windows with a 1.25 inside lower lip and I ended up having to build a bracket to properly install the unit. That said, once installed, it works great. Its quiet, even on its highest setting. I installed the unit on window for a combined living room open walk thru to kitchen; 28 from window to end wall of kitchen. At its top setting, I can feel air movement at 20 from the window and was able to lower the temp in the two combined rooms several degrees F° in about 1.5 hrs. The remote is simple and easy to use, but is tiny and could be lost easy; put it somewhere you know you can find it. It was worth the cost and I do recommend it if you need something to vent a full room. Just check your window sills carefully before buying to avoid frustration.
