Greater than one weekExactly what is says. Works great. Came retail packaged & appears to be genuine. Install went well EXCEPT that the included software can only copy the primary drive. So if you are working on a desktop like I was (mirroring a primary laptop drive to this one) you will need other software. I was able to still get the job done with Macrium.

Greater than one weekI bought this drive as part of a gaming PC I built for myself upon discovering that Steam had an Ubuntu client. The one thing that had kept me tethered to Windows 10 all this time was the ability to play Civilization V. Free at last from the endless bloat, HALF-HOUR boot times, the gambling on whether a system update would break everything, or bizarre BSODs demanding an immediate power cycle!

> 3 dayThe boot drive was almost full on my office Dell Optiplex Windows Pro 10 PC. I purchased this drive and an external USB adapter to clone the boot drive to the new SSD. The cloning software worked without any problem.

> 3 dayWas easy to upgrade my 256 gb boot drive to this via the Data Migration. I gave up a couple of years ago with same size 1 Tb drive without that software and sold that drive on ebay used. This time it was EASY and quick, and all my programs work from the originally installed boot drive.

> 3 dayThis is the best SSD for your hard earned money, to put into your rig. Samsung sells millions of these globally. If they werent the GREATEST nobody would buy em. Climb up off that wallet and treat yourself.

> 3 dayReplaced a 250gb mechanical HDD in an HP laptop [about 4 years old] with this Samsung 500gb SSD. Boot up time went from approx 4/5 min to about 10 seconds. I used the Samsung disk clone software which was super easy [I just had to buy the cable]. Using the Samsung software made a perfect clone and there were no errors. If you have a mechanical HDD, get a SSD, I think its the best way to add new life to an older laptop.

02-11-2024This was the biggest hit of all the Christmas presents we gave out. It went on sale by a huge amount before Christmas so my brother was shocked when he received a 1 TB SSD hard drive instead of a traditional 1 TB, especially with it being a super reputable Samsung SSD. He had no problems installing it in his desktop and luckily already had a shelf so he didn’t need a mounting bracket, and I knew enough about computers that a simple photo of his motherboard box allowed me to choose something that would fit. However, as someone who no longer has a desktop and hasn’t installed an SSD into anything but a laptop, it would’ve been nice to see COMPATIBLE 3.5” to 2.5” mounting brackets suggested just in case he didn’t have a shelf in his desktop case as the description doesn’t adequately address many things, nor does it offer detailed images. If I personally didn’t know so daggone much about hard drive configurations, I would’ve passed this one over due to the terrible quality of the description. Great product, horrible description for anyone who hasn’t repeatedly disassembled and reassembled many different desktops and laptops over the years (AKA the AVERAGE consumer)! Help your customers choose your product more easily, seller!

> 3 dayUsed this to upgrade my 2012 MacBook pro. It was ridiculously slow, and this made it feel brand new! It would have been nice if they included the screwdriver though...I’d say buy this if you’re looking to upgrade!
