Recommended. Use the SSD software to tweak your performance. Also use the clone software if you want to copy your old drive. I havent seen any other SSD with better cloning software.

I use nothing else but Samsung SSDs! This one was purchased to use as a second drive in a new machine for a Linux Mint install (the first drive is also a Samsung SSD with Windows 10 installed). They are fast, dependable and now are relatively inexpensive. In MY opinion... any machine built today should have an SSD installed in place of a platter drive. Install it, format it for your particular OS, and youre on your way. You definitely wont be disappointed!

Upgrading from HDD, I have to point out the most obvious difference is loading times. My new computer boots up and shuts down almost faster than I can sit down or stand up. That isnt even an exaggeration if you consider the intentional delays for inputs under windows startup and bios startup. If you take that luxury in consideration for a large enough space for this to be your main drive rather than a boot drive, it is WELL worth the price. Especially if youve used nothing but HDD your whole life. Pamper yourself.

these SSD drives are incredible, my Toshiba laptop is lightning quick now after replacing slow mechanical drive that took 15 min to boot up. great deal! anyone with old laptop, regular hard drive should get one of these. actually the 500Gig at 70 bucks is plenty for most people.

This was my 4th Samsung SSD, the others being 840 Evo and an 840 Pro, but apparently Samsung didnt bother going through the Microsoft certification process to get their drivers signed, so now that Win8 & Win10 have cracked down on unsigned drivers my machine does a double fail at boot-time and then offers me 3 options (Lenovo laptop), one of which is to hit F8 at which point I get 9 options. Option 7 is Dont check the boot-time driver signatures.

Easy to install. Installed my second drive for gaming, I replaced the old mechanical 2nd drive. I bought it on the Holiday season with cheap price. Like it a lot

Spend the extra money and get the best! The performance is outstanding when gaming or just loading up anything from this drive. I have other SSD Drives but this one out performs in every way. I am very happy with my product.

I bought this SSD to replace an aging hard drive in an older Toshiba Satellite laptop. It was extremely easy to install and with the Samsung data migration software I was able to clone the old drive to the new very easily. Youll need a sata to USB connection if you plan on doing this. Also have a copy of your Windows activation key handy. As soon as I booted the cloned SSD my Windows 7 warned me that my software may not be genuine. This SSD makes this older dual core laptop run great!
