> 3 dayPosting for the benefit of adventure riders who might consider packing this tool for an extended ride including off-road. Note, its quite heavy. Dont have an exact weight but its significant and too heavy for my purposes. One website puts the weight at 3.2 pounds, which is probably in the ballpark. Im gearing up for a months-long ride through Africa and Asia and its more weight than Im willing to carry. I count grams pretty zealously for a ride like this, so take that into account. Otherwise, the tool seemed great. Sturdy and appears well designed. Though I returned it, Im giving five stars based on impressions and my experience with other MotionPro products. Ill pack the much lighter, though less functional, Motion Pro 08-001 Chain Breaker, which Ive had good experiences in the past.

> 3 dayRemoved my old 520 chain and riveted the new DID ERV7 520 chain with the PBR tool. I would recommend greasing the threads before use, especially when riveting.

> 3 dayMine broke on the first use... So frustrating. Hollow bolt snapped at the threads when crushing a quad stake rivet. I wasnt cranking it down quickly or wrenching it hard. I did one light attempt backed it off... checked it and started tightening it again and it popped spring shot across the room. Bummed :( Id like my money back.

> 3 dayThis tool is what you need if you change your own chains on your motorcycles. Good for using with either Clip Master Links and Rivet Master Links.

> 3 dayThis thing is an absolute unit. Everything that I didn’t like about the cheaper tools was solved with this purchase. The case it comes in way smaller than any other I’ve had and could easily be carried on a trip. I have nothing negative to say about this tool.

> 3 dayRivet heads should be ground down with a dreamel tool before removal. When using the ball press rivet head with the magnet in the back, I recommend having the pin head either flush or slightly recessed so as not to break the magnet while pressing the rivets out. Tool is super durable and should last many years. Tip, use a digital micrometer to measure how far to press plate on and press rivets out.
