> 3 dayThis tool is what you need if you change your own chains on your motorcycles. Good for using with either Clip Master Links and Rivet Master Links.

> 3 dayThis is a decent little tool that as soon as you pick up the main piece, youll know where most of your money went. It also performs exceptionally well with one serious caveat. The first time i put this thing to use, the round-nose rivet attachment exploded in my face and across the garage with sharp metal shards traveling at speeds I dont have the instruments to measure accurately. I didnt crank down on it with my spaghetti arms and I followed all directions to a T. Wear safety goggles and keep your mouth closed if thats how you roll. And buy a few spares of the rivet-nose round attachment, found on amazon for around $12 apiece. I only marked this a 2 because of the danger factor involved. Youve been warned.

Greater than one weekRivet heads should be ground down with a dreamel tool before removal. When using the ball press rivet head with the magnet in the back, I recommend having the pin head either flush or slightly recessed so as not to break the magnet while pressing the rivets out. Tool is super durable and should last many years. Tip, use a digital micrometer to measure how far to press plate on and press rivets out.

> 3 dayI am incredibly pleased with this tool. In the past I have tried cheaper alternatives and been sorely disappointed. The PBR is an ingenious and solid design for all the steps in replacing your motorcycle chain. Everything was thought of for the user - the silver block snaps into place with a small detent in the modes where you need two free hands. The block also has ball the right recesses to align everything very well. There built-in but removable handle so all you need is this tool and a 17 and 14mm wrench. Basically this tool is a hard-working peice of art. Even the instructions are well thought out and easy to understand. Comes in a tidy, small, and durable case. Do be careful, it is rough on any tool to press the pins out without grinding off the head. So get out your grinder, or a sawzall with an abrasive blade, and take off the top of the exposed rivet. Careful not to damage parts of the chain that you want to keep (like when adjusting length) The included handle could be a little longer for more torque, but that is easily fixed with a peice of pipe.

01-11-2024I had previously ordered the Pit Posse kit to break and rivet a 525 chain on a GSXR 750 and it broke the chain fine, but a part to press the link on was a tight fit in the unit and got stuck. When I tried to hammer it out with a punch it just spread like a rivet (steel very soft) and I couldnt get it out. I didnt feel like drilling it out (plus the part was still broken) so I ordered the Motion Pro PBR. This will do everything the Pit Posse will and less than half the size. Better steel, and I was able to rivet the chain together with no problems. The PBR will also hammer a solid rivet which the Pit Posse and most of the other kits cant. Highly recommend!

01-11-2024This is a great tool. Id never replaced my own chain before but after purchasing a bike for the track decided to do as much of the work on it as I could myself. The OEM chain was showing rust and the stock sprockets needed to go. Took my time and using this tool installed a 520 DID x-ring chain. This tool worked exactly as expected, I think many of the failures you read about from consumer chain tools are due to improper use and care. Some tips: use a Dremel tool to cut the old chains rivet heads, then using this tool its easy to break the chain. YOU MUST LUBRICATE THIS TOOL. You will be putting a LOT Of force on the threads on this tool, the oil that it comes in is light and just there to prevent corrosion, it will not lubricate it. Coat the threads thoroughly with a fairly heavy grease (I used some old Rock Shox Judy Butter), this will keep things moving and prevent binding under stress. Also, to flare the rivets you will be using a good amount of force, plan on using a breaker bar or strong ratchet/wrench. Finally, the specifications for how much to flare the rivet are very precise and you will need a digital caliper if youre going to make an accurate reading.
