Greater than one weekThis tool is awesome! I wish I would have had one years ago. Its was definitely worth the price tag, its a quality tool with years of life, plus Motion Pro sells replacement parts if you do manage to loose or break a piece. I dont see how anyone broke a pin, but it does come with a replacement.

> 3 dayIve heard a lot about the cheaper tools breaking after one use. This Pro Motion (as with all my Pro Motion tools) worked perfect. Directions were clear, but could be simplified (Pro motion please hire a graphic designer) Installed a 525 DID chain and the riveting part was done according to directions. But... I do not know if I didnt correctly which is pretty scary.

> 3 dayMy 2006 CBR1000RR is the first chain driven bike I have owned. All others had belts or shafts. Seeing as this is a track bike I decided to go from the 530 OEM chain to a 520 chain. This required me to of course remove the old 530 stuff and install the new 520 stuff. When looking for a chain tool the choices were very confusing! There are so many different chain tools some even within the same brand! I decided to go with this one based on price and reviews. There are some chain tools out there that are cheaper and some much more expensive. Many had pretty bad reviews but most for this tool were positive. Never having had to break a chain or rivet one I really didnt know what to expect. With many inexpensive tools instruction range from less than helpful to down right harmful. Thankfully with the tool the instructions are clearly written and have nice clear photos. Having used the tool once I will likely never need them again but if I do the very nice plastic case includes a pouch stuck to the inside of the lid to store the instructions, a very nice touch. The tool comes with all of the parts pictured but it also comes in a handy carrying case to store everything when not in use. Another item the dont show is it comes with a second pin which is nice because I guess these can break. With the clear instructions and the nicely etched markings on the tool, using it couldnt be much easier. When I broke my 530 chain with the tool I didnt grind down the pins before pushing them out with the tool. I wanted to see how it would work without doing so. It worked great. That may not have been too big a deal as I pressed out the pins of the old rivet style master link. Im guessing the pins on those are a bit softer than a regular pin. When I went to put the new 520 chain on though I had to remove a link. I pressed the pins out on the new 520 chain without grinding the them either. They pressed out very easily. Riveting the chain was easy enough but I over pressed the first pin. Now I get to do it again as soon as I get another master link. Thats not the fault of the tool. As far as I can tell this tool is well made and should last a very long time. I do believe though it will only do 5 series chains, 520-525-520, which is fine for most modern sport bikes I believe. The thing to keep in mind is that Ive never used any other chain tool but If you need a chain tool for a 5 series chain I highly recommend this one.

> 3 dayThe rear sprocket on my G650GS looks like its nearing the end of its life. With a preference to do everything myself, I began purchasing tools I would need to replace the chain and sprockets. There are a lot of different chain breaker and rivet kits out there. Most of them are cheap and not worth the money. Motion Pro makes two chain breaker and rivet kit, the more expensive one here is the one you should get. What stood out with this kit is that its not intended for single use (Good luck getting more than a single use from the kits under $100. In fact, plan to have the pins break or the threads strip the first time around and unable to finish the job with those less expensive kits). Its intended to be maintained and the threads cleaned and greased between uses. In fact, it even came with a small pack of grease to help you do that. This kit also came with colored instructions written by someone who speaks English and detailed pictures showing you each step of the process from breaking, pressing, and riveting. Its been a long time since Ive purchased a tool with such high quality and well put together instructions (actually I cant remember any tool I have which even comes close)! The tool came in its own little box. It has fewer parts than the typical run of the mill kit, but this is actually a benefit of this kit. You see rather manufacturer different anvils and press plates for the job, Motion Pro designed all those features into a neat little block that you rotate on the breaker tool to carry out the different functions. No more fumbling with figuring out which adapters or part you need for what you are doing. The multi-function block in this kit has the letters R, B, and P stenciled on it. You simply rotate the block to align the letters on the breaker tool to rivet, break, or press. Brilliant! The Motion Pro kit is also one of those kits where the pin is actually strong enough to break the roller pin on the chain. However, there is no need to put the tool to this kind of abuse. I simply grounded of the head of the pin with an angle grinder first. This is a great kit for anyone wanting to replace their chains on their own. Please dont cheap out on a cheaper kit and just buy this Motion Pro kit instead. The extra money you spend will save you time and frustration working with inferior quality tools that would break or improperly install your chain. Motion Pro makes great products and this PBR chain breaker tool is one of them!

> 3 dayThis tool is perfect for the job. Easy to use if you simply take your time and measure frequently ... There are a few good YouTube vids on the use of this tool which I highly recommend watching before you do the job. It is also important to be able to take good measurements when you are riveting the chain and you really need a caliper for this job ... Just a basic Caliper it accurate enough for this work ... I would not attempt this without a caliper. All in all, it is a great tool that is robust and should give many years of good service.

> 3 dayChanged my first chain with this tool yesterday. Everything worked well. They included an extra rivet extraction pin. I didnt file off the rivet heads and had no issues breaking the old chain or removing a link from the new chain.
