> 3 dayThis is the second Levoit humidifier I bought in the span of two weeks. The first was the Smart Cool Mist humidifier. It made only a small impact on the humidity in my bedroom so I opted for this unit which has a larger tank and supposedly puts out more mist. Unfortunately, it also is not able to get the humidity in my bedroom to a healthy level of 50-60%. So far, the highest it has recorded is about 42% and that only lasted for a short while. The avg humidity when running is reported to be around 35-38%, up from the room standard of 24-28%. An improvement, sure, but not delivering on the promise the product is supposed to deliver. I tried emailing Levoit customer support and got a run-around. I explained my room size (a NYC apartment bedroom with high ceilings and steam heat) so that they could recommend a replacement. They never did. I like Levoit products because of their connectivity to a mobile app and the air purifier I have seems to do a decent job. I am incredibly disappointed that none of the humidifiers I have thus far tried have created a healthy humidity in my bedroom and am very dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Have to figure out what product to try next.

> 3 dayMy last humidifier was just too gunky to use anymore, as its impossible to clean the tank. Vinegar just doesnt do it. The auto feature on the Levoit will shut it off when it reaches 60% and I can see why. I ran mine at the highest mist setting and it was getting to 69%, but the carpet nearby was getting damp, (The unit sits on the corner edge of my dresser.) I have an Airthings sensor across the room from it and it read as high as 63%, so this thing does do the job. My bedroom is 14 by 14 with a 13 high ceiling. I looked at the APP and dont see it even worthwhile to add another password to my black book. Some Internet gadgets are okay, but most things will include a remote if its worthwhile to have one. Theres hardly any adjustments necessary for the humidifier; just press the A for auto mode and forget it. Neither do I see a need for a Sleep function as you cant hear it running anyway. Just hit the A and walk away. I like how easy this will be to clean, unlike my last one. Theres only a few areas in the lower part under the tank where youll need the small brush they provide, but at least you can stick you hand in the tank to clean the sides and bottom. I saw people complaining about the white dust from minerals. You should NEVER use tap water as you are breathing this stuff. Also, do NOT put alcohol in the water to sanitize it, not even drinking alcohol, as breathing it you will super absorb it into your bloodstream, and thats NOT a good thing. I installed an under the counter Reverse Osmosis unit that removes all the minerals and other things, and use this for the humidifier. So no white dust problem here. Buying distilled water is too expensive for daily use. It would be more economical to install a filtering system that lasts a lifetime. (On a side note, Las Vegas recycles their water and it tastes horrible, so I distill the water from my RO system to make it drinkable. Particle testers show the water particle levels after distilling are too low to read, so now I feel its safe to drink.)

> 3 dayAfter 14 months of nightly use our Levoit humidifier failed. I contacted the Levoit support group and after sending them a video documenting the problem they sent a replacement humidifier. Great job!

08-11-2024This is the third humidifier Ive tried to humidify our bedroom. I suppose our bedroom would be considered large-ish? Medium-large, at any rate. Every other humidifier has utterly failed in getting our humidity up in there. Our house is consistently in the teens for percent humidity in the living room (which is right outside our bedroom) because of the wood stove. Since we got this humidifier, Ive been running it starting at 6 or 7 PM and running all night long until I get up in the morning around 7:30. And only since we got this humidifier have I been not waking up dry as a bone and unable to sleep because my throat, mouth, and nasal passageways are dried up. I dont even sleep with my mouth open and this is how its been feeling this winter! This humidifier works like a charm! I love how I can completely turn off the light. ANY bit of light in our bedroom at night bothers me. This machine is also completely quiet from what I can tell, but I sleep with a noise machine for a consistent fan noise anyway. I dont really go by the humidity % on the machine because Im skeptical about how accurate it is. I mean, it probably is 46% humidity in the area directly around the machine, but that doesnt do much for me 7 or 8 steps away by the bed, where I know its not. So I just let the machine run on high all night and I havent had a problem of over humidifying, so theres really no need to set the machine to turn off at a certain humidity or time. I really wish I could just fill it from the top. Im not really sure why they couldnt have made a screw cap on top in the back for that. Its kind of a pain to take off the nozzle piece where the steam comes out, then lift up the whole basin with the handle and flip it over to fill it, then handle the heavy basin to put it back correctly without clumsily knocking it or something. I havent needed to clean the unit yet, but reading the instructions kind of make that sound like a pain, too. Filling it and cleaning it are probably the only cons Ive found so far. I bought a ZeroWater filtering pitcher to fill this machine with to hopefully prevent mineral buildup. I havent had any white dust accumulate on anything so I assume its working so far. Im also using the pitcher for my houseplants. The only con for that thing is the fact that it takes forever to filter all the water needed to fill the humidifier each night. But thats not a con for the humidifier, obviously.

> 3 dayThese are so good, I had to purchase another one. I now have four. Been using the other three for 2 plus years and absolutely no issues.

> 3 dayEasy to fill. Quiet. Only reason I didnt give five stars is it takes a lot to learn the functions of the control buttons. Some buttons have multiple functions. Operation is not use friendly.

> 3 dayI was tired of the inability to keep our ole Honeywell (filter style) cleaned. I took it apart with intentions to clean, but when I was done…..I wasn’t putting it back together. So, when it was determined it was being replaced, I wanted to find a replacement that had more and better features. After my research, Levoit won out over all the others. Filterless was important. Being able to disable all lights was important along with several others. We turn this Levoit on and leave it on. At this stage, we are very pleased with our selection.

> 3 dayIve had this humidifier for about a month and Ive used it many times and I can definitely give it a positive 4-star review. It does have a few minor issues which I will detail below but overall it is really nice and it definitely works and helps. First I got this because of its larger size and because it has hot and cool steam. You have to be careful with hot or cool steam depending on where you put it or what your allergy and sinus situation is. I actually talked to my doctor prior to unboxing this. I dont have allergies or seasonal allergies. I live in Michigan so in the winters it can be super dry for sometimes up to 5 months. My furnace does not have a humidifier so this is serving as the only humidifier in the home. That said when I started having dry coughs when I would lay down at night my doctor recommended I try some moisture in the air but to not overdo it. So just make sure you actually talk to a professional if youre having real sinus issues. As for the mist you have different levels and humidity that you can set which I really love but get yourself a free-standing hydrometer to tell you the humidity in your house. The one thats on the machine simply is not accurate which you will see in almost every review. You can get them from between $8 to $17 and sometimes you can get a two pack for under 20. That will be accurate to tell the humidity and temperature in your house or outside. The machine has a slight flaw because it lists the humidity in its direct area and since it has mist and moisture all around it in my opinion it reads up to 15% off. Right now Ive had my humidifier running for several hours and my room is reading at 30% with my own hydrometer but it says 55% on the machine. So if you need your room to be at 40% humidity when you first set it, put it to about 50 or 55. After its been running for at least 4 hours you might be able to adjust that. The machine will shut off or stay kind of a dormant state if its either run out of water or the humidity reaches what youve set it at. So if you were to set the machine to 40% and it thinks its at 40% almost immediately youre not going to get any moisture out of it. Thats why I recommend the additional humidity device. Mine is called Thermapro and you can find it on Amazon. One of the selling points for this was its large size as I have a 15x18 living room with vaulted ceilings. I wanted this to be like a saving Grace and unfortunately it doesnt humidify up to the size that it actually says. But it does a good job putting moisture in a room with a standard size ceiling and a smaller footprint. Putting it in a large room or room with high ceilings you will definitely notice a difference but it will take a while. When you first use this I recommend cleaning it thoroughly and getting yourself a dedicated either folding table or stand with a towel on it. It tells you not to put it on a wood surface or floor and you definitely dont want to do that. Depending on the water situation you have you might get a slight white residue on some things. Its similar to like a very very light powder and I mostly got it just over the machine where the steam would cascade down. It didnt affect the towel or the table that I put mine on but it was there. I did not use distilled water as they suggest because for me I will be running this at least 5 days a week and the cost to do that just wouldnt be worth it. For some people it might be and if you have a baby it might be a really good recommendation. I noticed when cleaning for the first time I did feel a slight build up on one of the internal pieces similar to how dried chalk feels. It was very easy to clean off with just a damp rag but the heating plate area I had a white scale buildup immediately after first build. This might alarm some people but it should not alarm you. It looks like it is just dried salt and its mineral in your water. I live in a metro area with very good clean water but unfortunately depending on where you live you might have that. If you live in a rural area or you use any kind of well water system or non-city water that has high minerals youre probably going to get a buildup. Theyre a really good instructions on how to clean this and you have to make sure that you clean that scale after a few uses. Overall the cleaning process knocks this down a star for me. Its nice I can fit my hand in the tank if you have very large hands you might not be able to. Its a little bit clunky and bulky and I do not like that you fill it from the bottom. There is a handle that you can carry but once you flip it youll see that its just kind of awkward to place on the base and since its over a gallon of water it can be a little bit heavier which might be problematic for some people. The base has a couple of pieces that can be removed and or cleaned or replaced. The cleaning of the base and how you have to spill the water into the sink when youre done requires you to remove the plug and the base after youve removed the tank. I find this process a little cumbersome and I wish that you could lift pieces up and actually rinse them. You cant do that with the base obviously because it has the cord and so you need to use a rag to clean which I didnt love. But I didnt get a lot of scalar buildup other than on the heating element which is the black square and the mist tube. I recommend getting just a dollar store bottle brush if you dont already have something to clean the inside otherwise I could see in the future it potentially having a skill build up in there regardless of your water usage. Going back to the humidity it definitely puts out a really good mist and I find that if you need to get the humidity up in your room for for dry sinuses or dry skin I would recommend doing the hot setting for at least 4 to 6 hours and then you could switch to a cold setting if you prefer afterwards. In my opinion the cold setting is kind of more maintaining moisture in the air and the heat setting really gets it into the air and has a very noticeable difference. If I go to bed at night and my room says 22% humidity and I run it on the hot setting medium mist and medium heat for 8 hours when I wake up itll be at about 35% if that helps. Then Ill just put it on a low setting on cold after I clean and refill the tank and keep it in there to maintain levels. I also love that this comes with a remote and you can turn the display off by hitting the auto button and holding for 3 seconds if you cant find the remote. he advised if you have a little one or any animals the remote is very small and super light. The first day that we set this up I had the remote on the bed and the cat decided to play with it and flicked it all over the place. So you might want to get some velcro and attach it to the back of the remote and the machine so you always know where the remote is. Overall I do think its easy to use its fairly easy to clean but Ive noted my dislikes. It definitely does work just not on as big of a room as it says. In our living room when I put the hydrometer on one side where the humidifier was and registered it for 3 hours and then moved it to the far other side about 25 ft away it was reading 7 to 10 degrees less humidity so you kind of have to take it for what its worth. I think its worth a shot.

> 3 dayYour sinuses and your skin will love this. Cleaning once a week is a 10 minute chore but worth it. Best part is the app control. You can schedule it for when you’re coming home and to scale back when you’re away.

13-11-2024I have a regular cold mist humidifier and it doesn’t work as well as this one. When I use just a regular cold mist humidifier I end up with a bad cough and sinus congestion. But this model of levoit humidifier I have an option for warm mist and it comes with two different types of filters for the water. I have always used distilled water for this humidifier and with the two filters it’s amazing. It can raise the humidity level within a few minutes on the low setting. It also barely makes any noise besides on the highest temperature (warm mist only). Cleaning the product is also easy since most of the parts can be removed and dried. The app feature is also a plus.
