> 3 dayIll start of with it IS VERY quiet. You DO get a slight boiling sound on warm mist, but its not bothersome. That being said, lets move on. Received it at 7pm, had it running by 7:30pm. BY 6 AM the water level was low. It would probably have lasted until 7:30 or 8am, giving it around 12 hours (cool mist) run time on high before needing a refill. Now it was on high all night (cool mist), which brings me to my only REAL complaint. You cant preset the level for automatic. Its either 60% or nothing. Has a big beautiful number on the front to display the humidity in close proximity, but you cant set it to a specific level to turn off at. It LOOKS like you can use your phone with an app to set it, but NO. About the only thing the app does if this is all you have is collect a bunch of info IT DOESNT NEED to do the job. It will show you the humidity level on your phone, but if youre anywhere in the room the display is quite large and easily to read, making the app nothing more than another way to get spam. (oh that tasty spam) IF you could PRESET the output % for automatic, this would be a solid 5 star, as it puts out a nice stream of mist, and is VERY quiet. And honestly, it would probably only add a few pennies to the cost to do this... OPERATION: 3 mist levels and 3 heat levels can be set. Putting it in night mode >appears< to turn off the warm mist (removing the boiling sound), along with the display. Even on low mist level it puts out a fair amount, and high you almost have a fog machine, making it great for larger areas like the living room. It has an auto setting, but as stated before it will only maintain the humidity at 60% Overall, it works quite well, and is quiet enough that youll barely notice it running even in a very quiet room (even on warm mist). Good value, but would be a PERFECT value if you could set the level!!

10-11-2024In-built hygrometer is woeful. I have two different hygrometers, one is +/- 5% accuracy and the other is +/- 1% accuracy, both of which are usually within 2-3% reading of each other. The Levoit’s in-built hygrometer reading is woefully inaccurate: when the unit is on, it fluctuates wildly in a +/- 10% band around the reading of my two hygrometers; when off, it is always a solid 10% or more below. Worse, the (incorrect) reading can go from 40% to 20% the moment you turn off the unit—doesn’t make sense at all. Because of this inaccuracy, while the auto function is nice in theory, it is actually useless in practice because the unit automatically turns off and on based on faulty readings and not based on the actual humidity. Also, the minimum target humidity is 40%, which can hardly be reached on a dry winter day, so “auto” is effectively “always on”. Cool mist is ineffective. I have two hygrometers to check it. Warm mist is ok. Maximum warm mist is the setting I’ve been using. I can see the humidity budge by maybe about 3-4% in my 300 sq ft space, better than nothing. However, for the amount of logistics around getting distilled water for the unit, it’s not effective enough for me to justify continuing to use this unit.

> 3 dayThe Water Tank started to leak after I filled it up from the bottom last night. I have had this unit for about 2 weeks and it has been great and helps me sleep better. Unfortunately when I screwed on the cap and turned it over it started to leak quite a bit. Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible to over tighten? Could a gasket or something similar have fallen out? Please help. I wrote to LEVOIT and asked about getting a new gasket sent to me but that part wasnt available. Skyler was my contact and he sent me the exact inner and outer diameters and thickness of the silicone gasket. I searched and found similar but not exact gaskets and tried them to see if they would fix the leaking water. Unfortunately with water, close is not close enough. I was about to cut the gasket into 3 pieces and superglue them to the cap to seal it permanently. I knew by doing this I was going to ruin the cap if it didnt work. I asked Skyler if they could send me the whole cap. He said he would ask and a few days later Skyler said they had one and it was on its way to me. I received it a couple of days ago and I tried it out and it worked perfectly. I ran it for a couple of nights and there were no leaks!! I find that I sleep much better when I have the LEVOIT Humidifier running. Thanks to Skyler and LEVOIT!! Excellent customer service!!

> 3 dayI’ve tried many humidifiers over the years. This one is by far my favorite. Be sure to use distilled water.

> 3 dayPros- awesome unit, mostly quiet, nice capacity. Cons- not suitable for elderly, as you got to toss a full 6l plastic vat like a pizza to reinstall after filling. Also, where the cutout is for the steam pointer, and handle, there are two 90 degree angles of plastic which could have been rounded for safer operation when handling while filling.. Sides that, it is keeking ass and taking names in my apt, love it. PLants love it.

Greater than one weekI am impressed. Whisper quiet. Easy app to control from my cellphone. Auto shutoff when set humidity is reached. Uses only distilled water. Really helped with breathing at night with a cold.

> 3 dayOk, so this thing took some figuring out and a call to CS to figure out how to make this effective. I read some of the reviews that the humidity gage was off so I bought 3 small humidity readers for our room to see how those compared to the reading on the humidifier. You HAVE to make sure the directional circles are BOTH pointing AWAY from the sensor to get an accurate reading, otherwise it’ll read anywhere from 10-20% TOO HIGH. The sensor is on the side near the essential oil thingy so I have this on the very front edge of my dresser facing sideways with the essential oil thing facing the wall. Since I moved it here and spent a few days tinkering w the mist direction, the other sensors in our room and the humidifier have been almost dead on. Oh also, you’ll need to be mindful of where the air flow in your space is guiding the mist because that will also play into how you need to position the directional circles. NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED! We have a small table and that didn’t seem to allow the mist to spread around well enough so I put in on the dresser. With the most recent change I made I may try this again though because... ... USE warm/hot mist. At least that’s what we needed to do to get the humidity to raise more than just 5%. Once I increased the temp (I have it set to full temp and full mist) we can easily get to our desired humidity, which for my partner and I is 50%. I set it at 55% so grant once it drops to 50% it turns on again. Our room at the moment, naturally, is between 29-35% and that’s just too dry for both of us and the cool mist *maybe* got it to 40%. The hotter mist shoots out much higher and stays in the air much longer so I *may* try using that small table again since it’s an ugly eyesore on my dresser. Some other things the instructions recommend, which I didn’t pay attention to until after our first night - def don’t put it near windows bcs even double pane can suck out stuff and it makes it less effective. Also we had them about 5’ from our only two heater vents so i moved it to a location prob 12’ away from those and also, consequently, our bay windows. Now we’re a few nights in and waking up to 50-55% humidity wo dry sinuses and scratchy throats so I feel confident in recycling the box now. For reference, our master bedroom is about 450-500sqft and has a very open floor plan. It’s long and goes directly from our bedroom into an open hall that has our small walk in closet, which has no doors, and at the end of the hall it opens into our bathroom. The only door goes to the toilet room, which is at the furthest corner so we have a pretty long space that can take up the humidity. As for noise, the warm mist is louder than the cool but it’s not a bother to me or my partner. We have an air purifier on a low setting near my corner of the room too bcs I need constant white noise and enjoy clean air and it’s not much louder than that. The woman I spoke to in customer service was super friendly too and def helped me troubleshoot getting the humidity to be in the 50-55 range.

> 3 dayThis is a great company to work with. We have two of their humidifiers and one started leaking. It was after the return time on Amazon and so I reached out to the company. Without hesitation, they sent me a new unit which is working great as well. Definitely will buy my next humidifier from this company.

> 3 dayLots to like about this humidifier but, there are a couple of minor things that could be improved in the next design. As others have said, filling the container is not nearly as simple as it could be with a better design. The container would be easier to clean if the fill hole was larger. The sleep mode works but, when turned back on, it doesnt seem to revert to its original setting. A longer cord would be helpful. The set humidity level doesnt seem to work consistently. Overall a great product; very quiet, well built, so far operates very smoothly. I would highly recommend it.
