I use this humidifier just at night when sleeping. I probably use about 3 gallons of distilled water a week. Its easy to clean and use. My main concern is the sleep mode. Unless I did something wrong or misunderstood, I tried sleep mode one night and the humidifier kept going all night and didnt shut off. The moisture level got high and irritated my allergy symptoms. Since then I only use the auto mode. That always shuts off once the set moisture level is reached. When sleeping Ive turned off the display which is really nice! Ive even fallen asleep with it on without issues. I really like that I can use the app to turn it on/off, set the levels, get notifications if the water runs out, and etc. Finally this humidifier is small enough for this scoliosis person to fill (top fill), clean and carry (has a handle) with no problems.

I have a regular cold mist humidifier and it doesn’t work as well as this one. When I use just a regular cold mist humidifier I end up with a bad cough and sinus congestion. But this model of levoit humidifier I have an option for warm mist and it comes with two different types of filters for the water. I have always used distilled water for this humidifier and with the two filters it’s amazing. It can raise the humidity level within a few minutes on the low setting. It also barely makes any noise besides on the highest temperature (warm mist only). Cleaning the product is also easy since most of the parts can be removed and dried. The app feature is also a plus.

Bought it as a pre-owned item. It still had some water in it and the filter for the oils was still in it....used....which was kind of icky, but it works great

I cant say this doesnt work, and it has nice features. I can only give 3 stars because of the overall design. You have to turn it over and fill it from the underside. That doesnt sound so terrible, and maybe could be worse, but its kind of a pain. the carry handle is on top, and the bottom always has condensation, so you end up dripping water all the way to the kitchen. I suppose you could take the entire unit when refilling, but that would be annoying too. Also, the fill opening at first seems large enough, but thats only true until you want to wash the inside. I let mine sit way too long unused, and wanted to wash it with soap. The opening is too small for me to get my hand inside. I had to resort to a long soak and sloshing the soapy water around. I think its clean enough? Then there were the times were the rubber seal on the cap came out and fell inside the tank. I hope you have kitchen tongs. And a couple times I accidentally tightened the lid too tight. There for a minute I didnt think I was going to get it open again. Like I said, it DOES work, but its annoying. I ended up replacing it with one that fills easily from the top. This one is now used only in the home office, so I dont have to fill it so often (but I still might totally replace it in this room, and donate this thing).

I purchased the product roughly 39 days ago. Since purchase, Ive run it nearly every day and exclusively use distilled water. The other day when refilling I noticed that there seemed to be a large build-up of something black and generally not something youd want to breathe in at the point where the reservoir feeds into the base, next to the black ring (which I assume is the plate that turns water into vapor). While this is a general hassle you have to deal with on just about all humidifiers, the design of the base of this humidifier makes it impossible to thoroughly clean every nook and crevice as there are sharp angles and cut ins for other plastic pieces to fit. This means youd need to basically use a cleaning solution of some sort that could get into those crevices and kill any bacteria holding out there but doing so will potentially damage the internals of the device, not to mention that those cleaning solutions themselves if not well removed after cleaning could do harm. My advice to the manufacturer: 1) Every surface that contains water within the base of the humidifier should be easy to clean and disinfect without the use of a Crevice brush, Rather than hard corners where 2 plastic pieces connect the corners should be rounded so that no bacteria/mold or other uninvited guests can get underneath them. Ideally, a paper towel, some disinfectant, and a finger should all thats needed to get a humidifier back up and running again and make the buyer feel confident that they arent inhaling lungs full of either disinfectants or whatever that black stuff was. 2) Throw the refill hole on the top of the reservoir... why the bottom? On some devices it makes sense..but for this one? I dont see any logical reason for it. 3) The part of the reservoir which connects to the base should be a thing that can be easily removed, disinfected and placed back on the reservoir. #4) How about some google home/Alexa integration? I intend to keep this humidifier for now as options for quality humidifiers that can humidify large spaces are limited. That said for my bedroom at least Ill be planning on upgrading to a Dyson humidifier or something else with UV light that can kill bacteria in the base.

This product is very quiet. I love the 3 mist settings and being able to actually see the level of humidity in the room. You definitely need to use some kind of carbon filter pellets in there if you have hard water. The tank is quite large. Wish this was a top loading tank though. This is not the easiest to clean. There are alot of parts under the tank and although alot of them come apart and come out, there are alot of small places not so easy to reach. Overall I really like this product.

So far, it has been a nice unit. Ive had it running for 3 days now. The first time I had to refill it I noticed that the handle is offset so that the reservoir is not balanced well in the hand and that makes it a bit difficult when trying to reseat it into the unit. It definitely takes two hands to put the reservoir back onto the unit - the handle placement makes it back-heavy. I also thought I was going to have to send it back. I hadnt realized that the machine had not turned off when I removed the reservoir. When I replaced it, the display went very dim and none of the buttons worked. Removing the power reset that. When I turned it back on, it registered the current humidity at 80% which I knew wasnt true. I removed the power again, restarted it, and it has been fine since. I have to say I am not crazy about the button feel. I cant tell where to press - there is no feedback but a chime, and the pressure point is not centered in each button. Im also not happy about having to reset the desired humidity and output level every time I refill the unit. And so far, mine has a continuous display of current humidity and then desired humidity. However, they document in MANY places that you can hold the auto button down for 3 seconds to have a blank display and that does work. Its a very nice unit, small and compact. The reservoir holds just over one gallon of water - maybe 10 pounds max. It comes with instructions, a cleaning brush, and an incentive to take pictures for reward. The reservoir is flat so it is easy to refill at the kitchen sink. It is also extremely quiet. The humidity detector is above the oil pad - which I havent tried yet. I think the remote is superfluous but its darned cute. It does seem to put out a lot of mist on the cold setting. I havent tried the heat yet but I think thats a definite plus to be able to choose. It has a 3 level setting for output. On the highest setting, I have to refill the unit about every 24 hours. That should give you an idea of the output on the highest setting. To compare, my pharmacy-purchased humidifier outputs very close to the same amount of water in 12 hours. I have it in a large den so it isnt really fair to try to evaluate the output this way, but I can say in 3 days it has raised its detection of humidity by 3% - which seems reasonable. I did notice the reading creeped up to 40% at one point (erroneously) and cut off the unit even though I had set desired humidity to 45%. I have it sitting on a high table with plastic underneath it. I find that all humidifiers drip water when you remove the tank - its just in the nature of the beast. There is one small problem in that the mist vents cover the handle. I find I have to stick a fingernail into a vent to remove it. I have tried using the machine without the vents in place and that confuses the humidity detector. The vents swivel and one is slightly larger than the other. Despite the minor drawbacks, I think it is a nice unit. But I think I paid mostly for bells and whistles. Update: Drop rating from 4 to 3 stars. Ive had this humidifier for over three weeks now and I wish I hadnt purchased it for this price. First, it doesnt really turn off any more than your tv turns off. It stays in a standby mode when it runs out of water. The blower doesnt run (I guess) until you fill it up. Good in that it keeps a memory of your settings. The other thing that has become very annoying is trying to put the filled reservoir back on the unit. I know Ive mentioned the location of the handle. But when you put the reservoir back on, it has to be completely level and two locations have to match up exactly. So, IMO, it would be a good humidifier at half the price. I paid more than $50 for mine. As it is, its just ok.

I bought this humidifier for my room with many other hygrometers in the room, and the hygrometer on the humidifier always reads over 10-20% more than what’s actually in the room. With the smart scenes setting on my app, this makes it hard for it to stop when humidity is for say at 80% because the humidifier will read 80% and shut off, while all 5 of my other hygrometers read about 68-75 humidity, resulting in me leaving it on not knowing when it’ll mist up the room and end up being 90-100% humid. It would be helpful if the digital hygrometer on the humidifier read more accurate humidity.

Ive had the humidifier for a few months and loving it. With the wifi function, its very efficient. I just wish Levoit would provide instructions on how to wash and clean the top cover where the steam comes out.

In-built hygrometer is woeful. I have two different hygrometers, one is +/- 5% accuracy and the other is +/- 1% accuracy, both of which are usually within 2-3% reading of each other. The Levoit’s in-built hygrometer reading is woefully inaccurate: when the unit is on, it fluctuates wildly in a +/- 10% band around the reading of my two hygrometers; when off, it is always a solid 10% or more below. Worse, the (incorrect) reading can go from 40% to 20% the moment you turn off the unit—doesn’t make sense at all. Because of this inaccuracy, while the auto function is nice in theory, it is actually useless in practice because the unit automatically turns off and on based on faulty readings and not based on the actual humidity. Also, the minimum target humidity is 40%, which can hardly be reached on a dry winter day, so “auto” is effectively “always on”. Cool mist is ineffective. I have two hygrometers to check it. Warm mist is ok. Maximum warm mist is the setting I’ve been using. I can see the humidity budge by maybe about 3-4% in my 300 sq ft space, better than nothing. However, for the amount of logistics around getting distilled water for the unit, it’s not effective enough for me to justify continuing to use this unit.
