This is a great little device for providing peace of mind while on the trail outside of cell phone coverage. The user interface is a little primitive but functional. It really shines when paired to a smartphone using the Earthmate app.

Très compact, à lair bien costaud mais connexion Bluetooth marche pas! Et logiciel pour programmer les appels impossible à utiliser.. plate-forme garmin na pas résolu le problème..

Nice device but the kicker is that you can’t do anything with it unless you get one of there pricey monthly subscriptions. Kind of overkill if you only need it for a week tops at a time.

This device sounded great, the perfect answer for what I was looking for. I was going to be on an 11-day trip through the Adirondacks and I wanted to send daily check-ins to my wife to make sure she knows Im doing OK. Lets start with the two claims I have seen online & in manual - up to 20 days battery life with power saving mode - which I can only assume is either (1) logging at the max of 4 hour intervals or (2) simply being turned on, because there is no such setting. Perfect!

This is the best tool for keeping in contact with those who travel where phones don’t work. I HIGHLY recommend this! *you do need to purchase a plan with Garmin for this to work. There are various plans available.

Sure helped us on the mountain bike paths up in Copper Harbor, MI. Will be using on future boundary waters trips. It does what it does and the texting is very convenient.

To set the context, I carry a personal locator beacon almost exclusively for SAR contact capabilities and the GEOS backcountry evac insurance plan. I have the overdue messaging configured, but havent needed to use it. I have a standing rule with friends not to call SAR unless I havent checked it by noon the day after which Im supposed to be out.

This little device really rocks compared to the SPOT systems. Yes the SPOT systems are less expensive but very frustrating to work with. The Mini is easy to set up, easy to use, easy to interface, easy to change plans, and most importantly more accurate and reliable than my SPOT systems.

Perhaps I got a dud, but after 45 minutes in my backyard, which has no ubstructions, the device will not activate. Had to return.
