This is the best monitor I have ever owned , My previous monitor was only 60 HZ with 1ms responce time ,My computer I put together is above average running a 8 core processor 32 GB memory EVGA motherboard ,EVGA 2070 gaming GPU and 2-TB solid state sansung , I used a high Quality display cable to connect from monitor to GPU and I have logged about 12 hours of game play with this monitor , playing Assassin Creed valhalla and its absolutly the best I have ever had , great colors very smooth and clear , I never knew how much vegatation is in this game till now , One of the things I used to struggle with are the stupid tattos you have to chase , Well not any more I captured like three of them in about ten minutes , they are a lot easier to see and follow now , Combat and everything else is much better , I read a lot of negative reviews about the color , But this monitor has great color for my setup , I have no complaints , early mornings /high noon /afternoons and night all are very real , Cloud cover /sunshine/ rain /fog/wind/ fire /smoke/sunrise/sunset all great on my build , I may just be lucky , But I am happy with this monitor ! Have a nice day and good luck !

For those of you that wanted a 144 Hz/1ms delay monitor for a good price, this monitor does the job. Please keep in mind that out of the box it does not come with a display port/DVI-dual link cable, so you will need to buy those as well if you want to reach 144 refresh rate. As other reviews said the monitor does have washed out colors, I used the settings below (courtesy of Reddit) which helped it a lot. Settings: -Theater mode -Contrast = 83 -Saturation = 42 -Color temp = user mode with all three set to 83 -Skin tone = natural -Sharpness = 50 -Trace Free = 40 -ASCR = On Getting 144 Hz on Windows 10: Also note the monitor will default to 60 Hz out of the box, even with a new cable. To change this on Windows 10 (with creators update) go to display settings, click display adapter properties, and then click the monitor tab and select the refresh rate you want. (if you have more than 1 monitor make sure to have the right one selected before trying to change the settings). Overall, for the price, its a good monitor, arrived quickly and in good condition. Will probably buy a second one to replace my other monitor, Overwatch looks great on it.

I purchased three of these monitors for a Surround setup, currently in portrait. The included base is intuitive and stylish, allowing one to rotate from landscape to portrait by simply turning it. I originally had the three of them mounted onto a frame and displayed in landscape mode, but the ultra-wide 5780x1080 resolution was a bit jarring and far too unsupported. Presently, theyre all set up in bezel-corrected 3950x1920, and its quite the theatrical experience. Everything I play now is HUGE, equivalent to a 44 inch TV with 6 million pixels. The bezels are reasonably thick, but for the amount of screen area you get, arent too bad. Keep in mind that running three of these in 144Hz mode requires at least one of them to be run through DisplayPort for it to function properly. The 1ms response times and refresh rates are definitely noticeable and desirable over other panels, but the crowning feature of this monitor and other 144hz models are the LightBoost support. Check it out, as itll change everything. Im removing a star for the color reproduction of this monitor. Its a TN panel, so the colors tend to be overly bright and washed out. Turning on LightBoost and strobing makes everything dimmer but much easier on the eyes. Ive got the strobing feature turned on across all three panels. Still, I cant help but feel that the colors seem slightly off from what Im used to. Its taken quite a bit of work to get to a setting that I can universally enjoy. I purchased this particular monitor over the BENQ model in anticipation for Nvidias G-SYNC technology. If that releases as a do-it-yourself module, Ill update this review with my impressions of that technology.

I am amazed at this monitors quality and specs. There is a reason I waited forever to get this monitor. I literally was on a waiting list for a month and the date on mine is January and I purchased this in March 2015. My main thing is gaming with a high end single gpu video card, so I wanted a monitor to take care of that. This thing delivers with the 144hz refresh rate. The colors were washed out, but a single download of the ICC profile and this thing has beautiful color. Simply google VG248QE ICC and you will find what your looking for. I would not take an good 60hz IPS monitor over this simply because of the 1ms GTG and 144hz. That should speak for itself if your a gamer like I am. Also I want give Asus credit on the monitor stand for this. It is superb design with its horizontal swivel, height adjustment, and vertical swivel. If your an enthusiast who is looking at this monitor, then this has the right amount of specs to make you happy. The only con I can think of right now is the lack of peripherals for connection. You do not get any HDMI (which will not give 144hz refresh) or display port (high refresh rate). I had to purchase my display port cable separate which isnt a big deal, but at least I got a 3ft Dvi cable with this monitor to at least use until my display port cable arrives. The included Dvi cable will provide that 144 hz refresh rate if your video card does not have display port.

Good screen size but behaves funny when the laptop screen is up. It automatically changes resolution to the max stated. If laptop screen is down then resolution is max 1980x1200

Since I dont buy games for $60 when they are released (I wait until they come down to a reasonable price on Steam), I dont have any current gen games. Therefore, most of my [older gen] games at max settings run above 60 fps on my gaming rig, putting this monitors high refresh rate to good use. I must have poor vision or something, because I do not have any complaints about the color that everyone seems to be going on and on about. I own several monitors of different panel types (IPS, VA, TN) and this one does not seem to be significantly inferior to any of them. But then again, I am an audiophile rather than somebody who knows much about color. PROS: I dont need to repeat what others have written. You may want to read this article about refresh rate before purchasing: maximumpc.com/refresh_rate_2013. You can probably trick yourself into thinking that 144Hz actually makes a difference (much like a placebo effect). CONS: [1] the speakers. ASUS should have just not bothered. They can make a nasty whine depending on what is onscreen, so youd better plan on using headphones or some other alternative to the speakers. [2] cable length. The money that ASUS spent on adding the speakers should have been put towards longer ones (both the DVI cable and the power cord were so short that I had to change my desk setup to accommodate them). Obviously these are not cons that are enough to knock a star off the total score for the monitor, as you can simply buy a longer cable and not use the speakers. Overall, you get much for the price. my gaming rig: Intel i5 4670K OCd @ 4.2 GHz ASUS Gryphon Z87 mobo Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB ASUS VG248QE 24 144Hz LED

Great budget monitor, I cant BELIEVE the difference this made. Just 2 problems Ive found; My Displayport, which is what u want to use to get the 144hz out of your GPU, was showing no signal, I would plug in to HDMI and it worked fine, I figured it was the my DP cable so I bought a new one. The new cable did not fix the problem, I thought it was the GPU, unplugged and went to onboard DP port, still no signal. So now Im thinking its the port on the monitor!! In a last ditch effort before contacting ASUS product support, I unplugged the power cable and held the power button down for 15sec, I plugged it back in and turned it on on the DP source and lo and BEHOLD its ALIVE! Take note of that process if youre contemplating a purchasing this item. Second, I play games on both PC and console, the PC looks flawless in HD no matter what frequency I run at (60,120,144hz), my PS4 on the other other hand, looks great but I can see red specs or red pixels floating around. I dont know what the deal is with that, but it doesnt do it on my other HD monitor (an older ALIENWARE). If youre buying this SOLELY to console game dont, If youre buying it to get more out of your GPU on PC its GREAT! I suggest upgrading the monitor before upgrading the GPU.

The screen is so bright it makes the colors pop. My old monitor has clouding issues and man, I was missing so much by not upgrading earlier. Maybe I can get a replacement screen for my older monitor so that my eyes will be better off.

This monitor is a HUGE step up from my previous monitor, which was a generic Samsung 1440x900 60Hz 19 monitor, so I might not be able to give a great review. Basically, this monitor is pretty awesome. Asus is a great monitor maker (along with almost anything else tech related it seems) and they knew what they were doing. 24 inches is a perfect size (Im a college student living in a dorm and the monitor barely fits underneath the shelf above the desk), 1080p (which in my opinion is all you need right now since you would need to buy a much more expensive graphics card to power a higher resolution monitor) and 144Hz is just plain overkill. The stand is great with pivot, tilt, etc and all the ports are there. Why only four stars? Two things: the speakers on this monitor are horrendous. Yes, I know, they are monitor speakers, but for a gaming grade monitor a part of me wishes that they could have at least put some better front facing speakers somehow. The second thing is now that there is G-Sync and FreeSync, its hard to recommend such a high refresh rate monitor without either of these technologies. G-Sync was even developed with this specific monitor! Now G-Sync I can understand why they dont include, since the module itself is expensive (thanks Nvidia), but FreeSync is suppose to cost almost next to nothing for panel manufacturers, so I would personally recommend you wait until those monitors come out or pick a G-Sync monitor (ex ASUS Swift line) if you plan on sticking with Nvidia for a long time.

Ok guys so I got this monitor exclusively for my PS4, with that said I know I will not be able to take advantage of the 144Hz and the other features that the monitor has. The one thing you can take full advantage is the 1ms response time and the Game Plus Function with different recitals, I will be honest I was very skeptical about this feature. Well I unboxed it and put it together, took about 5 mins and fired this baby up. I adjusted the color, etc, etc, simple to do. Well I am a BF4 player so I went into that game and fixed the settings, I went into the training range to try out the game plus thing, at first I was ok so this is knida of cool. I played around with it for a bit just to get my eyes adjusted to it. Well I went into my first TDM match, using the SAR, well I went 39 and 5, went into another game 45 and 10, third game 35 and 6!!! I kept on playing for about 2 hours and every time I would end a match with over 25 kills and les then 10 deaths?? To be VERY honest this game feature helps out so much that at times I felt like I was cheating. I also did notice that I felt that I had an advantage towards other player with response time, I dont know its weird but you WILL notice it! Now before you guys start saying that this is bs, I also have a gaming rig with a ASUS VG278H which I also used with my ps4. The only reason I got this monitor is because with my VG278H I just felt that my reaction time was slow on my part, not on the monitor, this was an issue with me. I am an older guy so my eyes are not what they use to be plus I where glasses, And I also play at my desk. The ASUS VG278H is an awesome monitor too dont get me wrong, but now this smaller one I can focus my eyes a lot better for me. Bottom line this monitor is beautiful and yes you will see people say you will not benefit with this monitor if you are using it for a console. Its your money do what you like with it, but from a PS4 fan this monitor works awesome. The one tip I will give is the TRACE FREE fuction, set that to 60 or 80, not a 100 you will see a bit of screen tearing or like the ps4 is trying to catch up to the monitor, other than that GET THIS MONITOR!!!!
