I purchased this monitor before G-sync went live and fell deeply in love with the response rate and the 144hz speed. I am a professional gamer and play games that require twitch movement and speed. I went from a 70Hz 6ms Asus monitor to this whopping 144Hz 1ms monitor and I DEFINITELY notice a difference. From games such as Starcraft and CS:GO, this monitor provides you with the edge in game. I demand performance and this is exactly what it gave me and more. I installed G-Sync following the DIY tutorial on NVIDIAs web site. The installation was easy granted that I have experience dismantling and building computers and components. The overall installation only took 20 minutes for me and really improved my gaming performance. The twitch games such as CS:GO are the kind that I really saw a jump in improvement. The G-Sync along with the 1ms and 144Hz gave games such as BF4, Crysis, and CS:GO a great boost in fluidity and responsiveness. As stated before, my old monitor was 6 years old and this upgrade turned my whole life around. The responsiveness, cleanliness, and fluidity are very noticeable and give me more of an enjoyable gaming experience. I have even restarted various games such as Metro and Bioshock because the gameplay was that much more enjoyable with this monitor and with G-sync installed. If you are in the market for a gaming monitor that is G-sync capable, look no further. For the price you are getting a top-notch monitor with the capability of adding g-sync to really boost your experience. This is by far one of the most important parts of my gaming rig i have purchased and is one that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get the most out of their computer and their gaming experience. Side note: I have recently ditched my 60hz 42in TV from my living room since I am no longer able to bare the slow 60Hz. I now watch TV on my Asus monitor...

Clean install of Windows 10 w/ an EVGA 2080TI had random display freezing issues. The exact same system ran w/o issues on 3 BenQ monitors. Upgrading to Windows 11 did not address the issue. These ASUS displays (3 of them) would appear frozen but the Windows Event log would show that the computer was running just fine. I tried swapping out the graphic card, DP cables (bought thicker gauges, shorter lengths, w/ propper pinning), lowered refresh rates, and did the whole dance of making sure the latest chipset/graphics card/etc. drivers were installed. After a few weeks of trying different things, disabling G-Sync cured the issue. Not sure if it is because there is no driver for the display, I have too many connected (3), or what. It is disappointing, but at a 165hz refresh rate, I dont know if disabling G-Sync will matter. Also, these monitors seem to take a slightly longer time to wake from sleep compared to my other 3-monitor setup using BenQ monitors. Which could also be a difference. The control scheme on the back of the monitor is not ideal for multiple monitor setups. Controls that run along the bottom edge or along the front bezel are preferred. The controls on this monitor are on the right back side which makes the middle and left monitor in a 3-head setup, hard to get to. After initial setup, it wont matter much unless you are the kind of person who actually swaps monitor modes based on what you are doing. Other than that, the monitors seem great. High refresh rates (165hz), color scheme, etc.

I like it. For the price that I got it at, I really, really like it. Ive read on a lot of reviews that people dont like the finish and how it attracts dust, I personally dont mind. When I got it I thought, wow people complain so much about such a small detail. But if it matters that much to you then, I dont know then, maybe a different monitor to avoid getting annoyed by the dust it collects? It honestly doesnt collect dust that much if you dust weekly (and my pc set up is in my bedroom so a blanket + carpet flooring by comparison) For the colors that people complain about, I just went into the monitor settings and adjusted the screen color and contrast to the way I find comfortable for my eyes. I did find that the default setting when you first get it did bother my eyes a little bit. If you work with photo shop or other applications and need precise color display then I wouldnt recommend this monitor, it was specifically for gaming for me. I dont have any complaints about the monitor, other than its a bit too big for my desk set up, but I have another monitor so thats my problem. My first 144 Hz monitor, the change in experience is pretty great. Changed my life forever. Im a college student so for this upgrade I felt it was a good deal (I had wanted a pure black monitor to match the pc color scheme and the other ones in the market didnt fall in that criteria) A month into having this monitor, thats pretty much all I have to say I think; will update if I have problems later.

Ill give you the scoop on this monitor. The monitor physically is built well. adjusting the height and orientation is so smooth. you got pretty much all the inputs you need. So you get this monitor, open it up, hook it up (please use a Displayport cable first choice, otherwise you can use the dvi cable it comes with but i used a displayport cable). You turn on the monitor and right off the bad your gonna notice some of the biggest flaws of this monitor. The colors are washed out, dull, contrast ratio isnt great either. At this point your gonna wanna do 2 things, make sure you enable and set your monitor to 144hz in Windows 10/gfx settings. the 2nd thing you want to do is adjust the colors and brightness/contrast. This is the most frustrating things about this monitor. It feels like a constant push and pull contest between you and the monitor for getting colors just right. and to my experience I never have got them the way I like it consistently. every day i feel like i am tweaking settings. Especially if I am playing games and then going back to everyday use. its like the color profiles get all screwy. i find this to be the biggest headache with this monitor. Your not gonna be happy with everyday monitor use out of this thing. BUT....... with gaming, i think this monitor is pretty good.the color issues you dont really notice as much in gaming. you get the super fast refresh rates and gaming from 60hz to 144hz monitor is such a treat. No ghosting, and response rate is super fast. i think this is where this monitor shines... its super fast for those competitive gamers. This leads me to my conclusions about this monitor. If you are only going to be buying this for gaming, go for it. however if you are looking to use this to do anything else, like browse the internet or watch movies or work in photoshop or write code... man its really disappointing monitor for that. the colors and white and black levels are just so poor and color reproduction is mehh... this monitor has 1 purpose only and thats gaming... its great for gaming, horrible for anything else. Luckily for me i have a nice dell ultrasharp UDH for my everyday use, and its amazing for movies, browsing, photoshop and coding (things i do alot of). So my ASUS VG248QE is only being used for gaming. But i was honestly disappointed with this monitor on how bad it was for non gaming use. i am really considering returning this and trying out some newer 144hz monitors and try out a VA or a IPS panel and see how it compares. PROS: - sturdy - easy ajustments - 144hz 1ms response - great for competitive gaming CONS: - horrible quality for non gaming use - out of box colors are terrible - adjusting colors/brightness/contrast is a continuous struggle - viewing angles are not great even for a TN panel - bad for non-gaming use

I had an Asus 21 inch 60Hz monitor for five years before I upgraded to this. I game quite a bit and have never owned a monitor this nice. I have been slowly upgrading my weakest computer computers to some nicer spec gear and this finally hit my list. I have to say I have never used a 120 or 144hz monitor before this and the difference is like night and day to me coming from a 60hz monitor. I was on a budget when I initially built my computer but of all the components I cheaped out on I must urge you not to do that on your monitor. This monitor was only about 100$ more than the one I initially bought but it is easily worth 3x that in price compared to a standard 60hz monitor. I really didnt think there was that much of a difference until I tried it but I am never going back to a 60hz monitor. I thought my video card was just more dated than I wanted to admit but in reality I just couldnt see what my video card could actually do because my monitor wasnt fast enough to display it. I mainly play FPS games and there is no screen tearing anymore and I feel like I can respond faster to things on my screen since I can actually see them faster. This was one of the best single component computer upgrades I have ever bought. Also my original Asus monitor didnt fail, I just wanted to upgrade. I have had no issues with that one for over five years and this one has been functionally perfectly as well. I love the brand and would easily buy this product again or recommend it to anyone.

If you are looking to upgrade from a 60 hz monitor or considering getting a graphics card but sticking with a lower quality monitor, take this monitor into consideration. I say this because upgrading to a better monitor, whether it is for gaming, work, or general use, a monitor has a huge impact quality-wise. You will notice a difference without having to change any of your computers internal hardware. This monitor is a great upgrade for most gamers. You will notice a huge improvement in detail just by getting rid of that outdated one you are using with your current computer. If you do want to get this, I would highly recommend having a graphics card/motherboard that supports DisplayPort video out connections. This allows you to utilize the 144 hz refresh rate the monitor is built for. I personally like this monitor so much, I bought a second one a year or two after I purchased the first (I multitask a lot). So far they have run well for years (countless hours of gaming, watching movies/tv shows via streaming services, and web browsing) without issues. My recommendation is, if you do plan on getting this monitor, wait for a sale and get the best deal you can.

I was on the fence buying a TN panel display. I mean come on, its 2017... I can get the same 24 IPS display I bought 5 years ago for half the price I originally payed for it, and half the price of this TN panel. But reading the reviews and studying up on higher framerates, on top of playing competitive pvp games led me to picking up one of these when I needed to replace my main display. I bought into the hype... AND OMG was it worth it. WOW 144 Hz what a difference. IMMEDIATELY after setting the monitor refresh rate on my NVidia GTX 1060 to 144 Hz I knew I made the right choice. I sat there in awe moving my mouse around the screen so smoothly and crisply. You wouldnt think youd pick up the difference but I can easily see it just by moving my mouse around on my new and old monitors side by side. Obviously gaming-wise the difference is just as well, Battlerite at 144Hz is perfection. Color-wise, no doubt this panel competes with my old IPS ASUS displays (VE247H & an older VH236H). Side by side I dont even notice a difference after tuning the settings and colors, if anything the blacks look even better on the VG248QE. Im stunned. Just know that, like all of the ASUS monitors Ive used, the VG248QE needs some significant tuning to get the colors / levels set correctly. The last thing Ill talk about is the stand. My older ASUS monitors have fixed stands with no height adjustment or rotation. The added advantage of the rotation and height adjustments are super nice and I didnt realize what I was missing. The base of the display has an integrated rotation feature, really high quality.

Note: My old monitor was a 24inch Samsung widscreen monitor with a 3000:1 contrast ratio. This is an absolute beautiful monitor! The colors are vibrant and everything looks so smooth and crisp. The first time I plugged it in I just started at my desktop background for a couple minutes, and then started browsing pictures on the internet. It was truly a whole new experience. My friend came over a couple days after I had installed it, and he was blown away too. Games, internet, movies, photos, all look amazing. Youre going to see a lot more detail that you missed before, even if you had a similar sized monitor. The 144hrz of the monitor means 144fps, compared with the conventional 60-75 hrz (60-75 fps). If you play the latest games, and are a huge gamer, you probably wont be able to notice a difference in framerate, since the target fps is around 40-60 with your video card. But if you play older games that support higher frame rates, or you play games at lower quality to get 100~ fps, then this will be a huge jump. MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR DISPLAY OPTIONS TO 144HRZ TO EXPERIENCE IT PROPERLY! One thing to note when handling the monitor: When tilting it 90 degrees, from landscape to portrait, If its too low you can scratch the pristine base. Make sure to lift up the monitor as high as possible before rotating it. I scratched mine sadly. :( If you want to do 3D, you are going to have to buy special Nvidia 3D glasses and youll need an Nvidia compatible video card. The glasses are around $50-$100, and the card could go well above $200. I already have the card, and I hope to buy the glasses soon.

This is the best monitor I have ever owned , My previous monitor was only 60 HZ with 1ms responce time ,My computer I put together is above average running a 8 core processor 32 GB memory EVGA motherboard ,EVGA 2070 gaming GPU and 2-TB solid state sansung , I used a high Quality display cable to connect from monitor to GPU and I have logged about 12 hours of game play with this monitor , playing Assassin Creed valhalla and its absolutly the best I have ever had , great colors very smooth and clear , I never knew how much vegatation is in this game till now , One of the things I used to struggle with are the stupid tattos you have to chase , Well not any more I captured like three of them in about ten minutes , they are a lot easier to see and follow now , Combat and everything else is much better , I read a lot of negative reviews about the color , But this monitor has great color for my setup , I have no complaints , early mornings /high noon /afternoons and night all are very real , Cloud cover /sunshine/ rain /fog/wind/ fire /smoke/sunrise/sunset all great on my build , I may just be lucky , But I am happy with this monitor ! If youre a gamer and youre looking for a monitor, dont look any further; from one gamer to another: buy this, you will not regret it. Dont gimp your high performance setup and expensive hardware with a 60Hz monitor. If youre running current top-end GPUs and pushing frame rates over 60 FPS, if your refresh rate doesnt match your frame rate, youre going to have issues. The biggest thing Id like to push is the fact this monitor is not only built for gamers, it also looks amazing, do not in any way be dissuaded by reviews stating this monitor looks horrible, or has bad color. The capability for adding 3D and Nvidia G-Sync is also a great option to have. Ive seen some reviews on various websites that state this monitor looks washed out and other such cons, but Ive seen no such issues. Out of the box stock settings admittedly look bad; however these are just OEM default settings. A few minutes spent in the menu tweaking contrast, brightness, color correction etc., gets this monitor looking absolutely gorgeous. Some people recommend downloading ICC color profiles and jumping through hoops to try and make this look good. Bottom line: it isnt necessary. If you want to follow one of those guides, download a color profile and do all that, its your choice. But honestly, in less than 5 minutes you can have this monitor adjusted to your liking and looking great on your own just by adjusting some menu options. I used a Envy 17-3D gaming laptop for years with HPs LCD-LED display,and this Asus blows it out of the water by a country mile. I cant understand why some people write bad reviews for an item without fully testing it out first, and at the very least adjusting menu options. I paid $250 for this, and for a monitor under 300 dollars, I couldnt be more impressed with the features, and the visual quality. This is a gaming monitor built with gamers in mind. The vast majority of bad reviews stating this is a monitor with bad visuals are from people wanting to compare a $250 TN panel meant for gaming with monitors not built for gaming and 3 times the price. This monitor boasts a 144Hz refresh, 1ms GTG lag, amazing contrast ratio, availability for G-Sync & 3D upgrades, Gameplus features built in and other gamer-centric features. Comparing this to IPS monitors with only 60 Hz refresh rates, 10+ms GTG, input lag and cost anywhere from $500 dollars to well over $1,000, is far from correct. On top of being an amazing gaming monitor that will show no ghosting, artifacting or screen tearing and built in features for gamers, for a TN panel monitor this looks amazing. In my opinion during routine everyday PC use, and for gaming, youll see no noticeable difference in color and visual performance with this TN panel than you will higher priced lower performance IPS monitors. Finding a monitor that does gaming well, as well as have great visuals is a hard find, but this does it and it does it for a great price. The 24 monitor is large enough that you get a great view, yet not so large you have to constantly move your head side to side to see everything, or have to sit far away from the monitor just to get it all in your field of view. It has a good solid base, and a bracket for cable management on the back of monitor. The monitor swivels, it tilts, it pivots, it has height adjustment and you can flip the monitor for either a page orientation of 16:9 widescreen or a portrait orientation. So no matter your setup or how you sit at your PC, this monitor can be set for maximum comfort and best viewing. ** IMPORTANT: First, be sure your GPU has a DisplayPort I/O so you are able to use a DP cable to connect this to your GPU if you want the full range of performance this monitor offers. *DO NOT USE* HDMI or DVI with this monitor! If you use HDMI or DVI with this screen, you will not be getting or seeing the performance you paid for. Neither HDMI nor DIV/DVI-D are capable of full HD at more than 60 FPS (60Hz). The majority of the reason for going with this monitor is the superior 144Hz refresh, 1ms GTG, and no discernible input lag. Thus allowing high FPS with no graphical issues.
