> 24 hourBought 2 of these monitors (several months apart) for a new computer build. Good quality, and the screens offer up a lot of detail in games. The only downside I can really say about them, is that it is very hard to get them to match up even after calibrating. Comparing them side to side after calibration, there seems to be slight color issues, and one screen seems slightly warmer, while the other slightly cooler- this is normal even with 2 of the same monitors due to manufacturing differences. Calibrating any monitor is going to be necessary, and these are no different. Right out of the box, the monitors are good almost as is, and very little calibration is needed for anyone just wanting to use it for general computer work. For gaming however, take the time to learn how to properly calibrate the monitors for the best gaming experience. If you currently have a smaller desk, these monitors might take up a lot of desk space with their default stands, and upgrading to a better stand might be the solution. I used the monitors for over a year with their included stands, before finally purchasing a third-party VIVO dual monitor stacking stand (look for my review on it). Overall the default stands are nice, sturdy, and allow for good adjustment, but for someone like me who needs dual monitors, consider upgrading the stand later on to fit your needs.

> 24 hourGame Monitor If you get it for the normal price. This monitor is excellent. Pros: 3 year Warranty 144hz + Tracefree Technology Adjustable Stand 144hz capable with DVI-D or Display Cable. Monitor Digital Vibrance (Saturation) Excellent clarity Cons: Colors when using 144hz. Theres no nice way to say, the colors suck by default. You can tweak it but it will take sometime to find exactly what you like. The nice thing though is depending on the profile you select, you can up digital vibrance on the monitor it self. It makes console games look amazing. PS4, Wii U, and Xb1 looks great, But remember, Consoles only use 60hz or lower depending on the game. If you google this monitor you will find a reddit with a bunch of different colors and profiles to try. Motion Sickness: I found this monitor was making me slightly motion sick. Im not use to see 144 FPS in pc games so it was messing with me a little. I expect this will go away shortly as it was slowly getting better over time while using it last night. Final Thoughts: Personally, I love this monitor. I bought it mainly for the 144hz for CS:GO and some other games on PC. The colors arent nearly as close to my 27 LED Viewsonic monitor but I knew that going into it. The monitor is great for competative gaming and for console gaming as well. Even though its only 24, if your playing a game at a desk like I am, it works perfect. If your looking for a monitor to do graphic design or you care a lot about colors, get an IPS screen. This is a TN panel after all. its meant for gaming, and thats pretty much it. Ive used BenQ monitors in the past and they are very nice, but honestly, this monitor is just as good if not better for some. BenQ is like the Apple brand of monitors. Its a big name and everyone loves them but they are also elistest with it as well. Go for whats cheaper and you will not be sorry.

> 24 hourNote: My old monitor was a 24inch Samsung widscreen monitor with a 3000:1 contrast ratio. This is an absolute beautiful monitor! The colors are vibrant and everything looks so smooth and crisp. The first time I plugged it in I just started at my desktop background for a couple minutes, and then started browsing pictures on the internet. It was truly a whole new experience. My friend came over a couple days after I had installed it, and he was blown away too. Games, internet, movies, photos, all look amazing. Youre going to see a lot more detail that you missed before, even if you had a similar sized monitor. The 144hrz of the monitor means 144fps, compared with the conventional 60-75 hrz (60-75 fps). If you play the latest games, and are a huge gamer, you probably wont be able to notice a difference in framerate, since the target fps is around 40-60 with your video card. But if you play older games that support higher frame rates, or you play games at lower quality to get 100~ fps, then this will be a huge jump. MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR DISPLAY OPTIONS TO 144HRZ TO EXPERIENCE IT PROPERLY! One thing to note when handling the monitor: When tilting it 90 degrees, from landscape to portrait, If its too low you can scratch the pristine base. Make sure to lift up the monitor as high as possible before rotating it. I scratched mine sadly. :( If you want to do 3D, you are going to have to buy special Nvidia 3D glasses and youll need an Nvidia compatible video card. The glasses are around $50-$100, and the card could go well above $200. I already have the card, and I hope to buy the glasses soon.

> 24 hourI purchased this monitor before G-sync went live and fell deeply in love with the response rate and the 144hz speed. I am a professional gamer and play games that require twitch movement and speed. I went from a 70Hz 6ms Asus monitor to this whopping 144Hz 1ms monitor and I DEFINITELY notice a difference. From games such as Starcraft and CS:GO, this monitor provides you with the edge in game. I demand performance and this is exactly what it gave me and more. I installed G-Sync following the DIY tutorial on NVIDIAs web site. The installation was easy granted that I have experience dismantling and building computers and components. The overall installation only took 20 minutes for me and really improved my gaming performance. The twitch games such as CS:GO are the kind that I really saw a jump in improvement. The G-Sync along with the 1ms and 144Hz gave games such as BF4, Crysis, and CS:GO a great boost in fluidity and responsiveness. As stated before, my old monitor was 6 years old and this upgrade turned my whole life around. The responsiveness, cleanliness, and fluidity are very noticeable and give me more of an enjoyable gaming experience. I have even restarted various games such as Metro and Bioshock because the gameplay was that much more enjoyable with this monitor and with G-sync installed. If you are in the market for a gaming monitor that is G-sync capable, look no further. For the price you are getting a top-notch monitor with the capability of adding g-sync to really boost your experience. This is by far one of the most important parts of my gaming rig i have purchased and is one that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get the most out of their computer and their gaming experience. Side note: I have recently ditched my 60hz 42in TV from my living room since I am no longer able to bare the slow 60Hz. I now watch TV on my Asus monitor...

> 24 hourThis monitor is marked as a Gaming Monitor in the market. The gaming features which attract my attention are 144hz and short response time. I put this VG248QE sit next to my 2-yrs old Dell U3011. As you know, Dell U3011 is a great monitor, but it may not be a typical gaming monitor. As a part-time gamer, I want to have a monitor for my PC games. The 144hz and short response time did play their roles in game BF3 during the test. In fact, comparing to the performance in U3011 (2560x1600 ultra), I did like the FPS performance (action part) in VG248QE (1920x1080 ultra) better. However, I felt like I missed something. Even though the action of BF3 performed better in VG248QE than in U3011, I didnt like it. I didnt like this gaming monitor. Why? Because the color didnt look right at all! Yes, the factory color setting in VG248QE is horrible. I dont know whether ASUS make this way on purpose, maybe they think gamers are free to adjust it by themselves. I personally think as such a big company, ASUS should be easy to do the color calibration for their monitors. But apparently, ASUS dont. Then I did some search online. As a result, I came out four color profiles. Two came from pcmonitor.info, one from user in Newegg, and last one from the other forum (sorry, forget the name). One of the profiles that came from pcmonitor.info suggested the ICC profile file (.icm), I downloaded it too. There was one more .icm color profile file recommended by the user in Newegg, I also downloaded it. For U3011, its color profile has been done once it is plugged in to PC. I dont which one does it, Win7 or Nvidia Driver. Then I started my testing. Since two monitor sit next to each other, I could easily do the comparison. ... ... Let me skip the testing process and jump to the result. As a result, I was disappointed with this gaming monitor, seriously, I couldnt make myself like it due to the color. One of these four color profiles is described to have the most accurate colors, but my eyes dont feel it. One of the .icm file comes from ICC standard, but my eyes dont like it neither. Maybe my eyes are wrong or maybe I dont feel the colors correctly. What I can tell is the color performance in U3011 is way way better than VG248QE. I think the monitor size doesnt matter with the display of colors. Thus these two high-end monitors should have similar color performance. However, whichever color profile was applied, my eyes always liked the display in U3011 better, much better. The display in VG248QE was either too cold, too warm, too dark, or too bright. The mointor just couldnt make it balanced in WOW, BF3, and Skyrim, or even in browsers and PDFss. Now for PS3. Both of two monitors have HDMI, so I connected them with my PS3. I played Dark Soul and blu-ray 007. Only the profile (Google the pcmointor.info, the profile they use for testing) was acceptable for my eyes. But this profile displayed too warm and dark when I played Dark Soul and Uncharted 2. The most serious thing is ... ... A week later, On the screen, the area is about 1 inch above the monitor bottom edge, two dead pixels appeared. As a gamer, high HZ and short response time are important. But I personally will choose color over them. I mean color must be comfortable first, then I care about rate and response time. I definitely will NOT choose a monitor whose color display I am not comfortable with, even it has higher rate and shorter response time. In conclusion, if you were the person like me, this monitor might NOT fit for you. Otherwise, you can think about this unit, but I dont recommend. ========== Other thoughts ============ The resolution! I am not sure about other gamers. I like playing PC games, so I always pickup some good video cards, like GTX 590 (I am using now). I mean it may be common to have own a high-end video card among the gamers. Then the resolution with current gaming monitors is too low. All the gaming monitors have high rate and short response time, but low resolution (1920x1080). I personally think high-end video card should apply for high resolution monitor (2560x1440 27, 2560x1600 30). Even though you may not get the features which those gaming monitors declare, high-resolution monitor will definitely give you a more visually-comfortable game world. ========== Few Last words ============ The color calibration or management is the basic for a monitor. The gaming monitor should be a type of high-end monitor. But if the monitor cannot make the color look right, it is even NOT a good monitor.

> 24 hourThis is the best monitor I have ever owned , My previous monitor was only 60 HZ with 1ms responce time ,My computer I put together is above average running a 8 core processor 32 GB memory EVGA motherboard ,EVGA 2070 gaming GPU and 2-TB solid state sansung , I used a high Quality display cable to connect from monitor to GPU and I have logged about 12 hours of game play with this monitor , playing Assassin Creed valhalla and its absolutly the best I have ever had , great colors very smooth and clear , I never knew how much vegatation is in this game till now , One of the things I used to struggle with are the stupid tattos you have to chase , Well not any more I captured like three of them in about ten minutes , they are a lot easier to see and follow now , Combat and everything else is much better , I read a lot of negative reviews about the color , But this monitor has great color for my setup , I have no complaints , early mornings /high noon /afternoons and night all are very real , Cloud cover /sunshine/ rain /fog/wind/ fire /smoke/sunrise/sunset all great on my build , I may just be lucky , But I am happy with this monitor ! Have a nice day and good luck !

> 24 hourCONS: Nearly flawless for gaming implementation. Only issue I take with this monitor is that I purchased two of these and I can never quite get the colors to be the same between them and the backlighting varies ever so slightly even if you use the exact same OSD settings. I had to manually tweak both of them to match their colors using two different profiles. It seems that theres a fair amount of color variance between them and the black levels are admittedly not great. PROS: That being said the rest of the monitor is amazing. 144hz is a step up to which I will never go away from. Response time on these are amazing and 24 is a size which you can really lay out on a desk really well without feeling overwhelmed by bezels that are too large. The spring loaded stands these come with are slick and also the potential for 3D viewing is a little plus, although most the utility in this screen comes from playing high octane FPS MMOs and MOBAs. This display really flatters a really good video card and the higher-visuals games with well optimized multiplayer and with heavy and smooth particle effects like Overwatch, HoTS, BF4, BF1, or Dota 2. Im unsure if 144hz would directly impact either CSGO or League of Legends graphically besides input latency, and neither are very graphically intensive (both which I play and although FPS is smoother I cant say it really changes the experience). For single player games I really enjoyed BioShock Infinite, Witcher 3, and Titanfall 2 at 144hz (GeForce 1080). If you play early-access games such as PubG, ARK or Rust you may not see as much (or any) graphical change in 144hz as their games are not very well optimized in FPS for the screen to benefit you, unless you are running a multiple GPU Crossfire or SLI setup such as a 2x GeForce 1080 Tis to get your FPS consistently over 100+.

> 24 hourI order this for my Xbox, So far it’s been good. Had to adjust settings to get the best gaming quality. No speakers tho, I had to order some separate that was a bummer.
