> 3 dayThis monitor is a HUGE step up from my previous monitor, which was a generic Samsung 1440x900 60Hz 19 monitor, so I might not be able to give a great review. Basically, this monitor is pretty awesome. Asus is a great monitor maker (along with almost anything else tech related it seems) and they knew what they were doing. 24 inches is a perfect size (Im a college student living in a dorm and the monitor barely fits underneath the shelf above the desk), 1080p (which in my opinion is all you need right now since you would need to buy a much more expensive graphics card to power a higher resolution monitor) and 144Hz is just plain overkill. The stand is great with pivot, tilt, etc and all the ports are there. Why only four stars? Two things: the speakers on this monitor are horrendous. Yes, I know, they are monitor speakers, but for a gaming grade monitor a part of me wishes that they could have at least put some better front facing speakers somehow. The second thing is now that there is G-Sync and FreeSync, its hard to recommend such a high refresh rate monitor without either of these technologies. G-Sync was even developed with this specific monitor! Now G-Sync I can understand why they dont include, since the module itself is expensive (thanks Nvidia), but FreeSync is suppose to cost almost next to nothing for panel manufacturers, so I would personally recommend you wait until those monitors come out or pick a G-Sync monitor (ex ASUS Swift line) if you plan on sticking with Nvidia for a long time.

> 3 dayDefinitely the best monitor I have ever used. I would say this is tied with my mouse (deathadder 2013, huge upgrade from my s***ty stock mouse) as the best upgrade Ive gotten for my gaming setup so far. Even moving the cursor from this to my 60hz display on the side of it you can see noticable mouse lag. The 1ms input lag for this display, in addition to the 120hz and lightboost (greatest thing ever, incredibly clear movement) there is almost no lag at all in what youre seeing. I play competitive tf2 in the esea, and I can pretty safely say this has let me improve a lot. Though I was decently good before I got this, I feel like I have a MUCH better visability and grasp of movement/aiming with this. Its really like going from a tiny little SD television to a giant flat screen HD, everything is so much clearer and visible. The one downside I have found is the colors and scan lines. Without lightboost the colors are great, you can find a couple sites with drivers and special settings to use for this monitor, however with lightboost on everything is washed out and purple tinted. Ive gotten used to it but it may be a surprise at first. Ive been using the program flux which changes the color temperature by time of day to try and offset this and it looks much mroe natural now. With lightboost as well you can see visable scan lines across the screen. You can probably look up google images or threads about it to see examples. Im not sure if mine is just faulty or all of them do this but it is not that big of a deal, unless you have the monitor right in front of your face. Love the adjustable height and swivel, power button is really easy to hit haha and the built in timers and crosshairs are pretty cool.

> 3 dayThe first time I discovered this product is when I was looking for monitors on amazon. I bought this monitor for the purpose to complete my computer setup. the specs of the monitor are it being 24 inches wide, 1920x1080p, and 144Hz. Strengths about this monitor are that it is 1080p, it has a refresh rate of 144hz, it has a 1ms response time, and it also has a cross hair in the middle of the screen for fps games. One thing that i love about this monitor is that is has a spot to hand your headphones comfortably behind the monitor and has cable organizers running down the back of the monitor. Weaknesses that I have to point out about the monitor is that it doesnt have the best eye support technology for long game sessions so it will strain your eyes over a period of time. Another weakness about this monitor is that it doesnt have the best speakers as they can muffle sometimes depending on what is playing through them. One more weakness about this monitor is that the panel used for the monitor isnt the best when faced in direct sunlight as it is hard to see the screen because of the glare. My final thought about this monitor is that it is a good product and I am satisfied with my purchase.

Greater than one weekOk guys so I got this monitor exclusively for my PS4, with that said I know I will not be able to take advantage of the 144Hz and the other features that the monitor has. The one thing you can take full advantage is the 1ms response time and the Game Plus Function with different recitals, I will be honest I was very skeptical about this feature. Well I unboxed it and put it together, took about 5 mins and fired this baby up. I adjusted the color, etc, etc, simple to do. Well I am a BF4 player so I went into that game and fixed the settings, I went into the training range to try out the game plus thing, at first I was ok so this is knida of cool. I played around with it for a bit just to get my eyes adjusted to it. Well I went into my first TDM match, using the SAR, well I went 39 and 5, went into another game 45 and 10, third game 35 and 6!!! I kept on playing for about 2 hours and every time I would end a match with over 25 kills and les then 10 deaths?? To be VERY honest this game feature helps out so much that at times I felt like I was cheating. I also did notice that I felt that I had an advantage towards other player with response time, I dont know its weird but you WILL notice it! Now before you guys start saying that this is bs, I also have a gaming rig with a ASUS VG278H which I also used with my ps4. The only reason I got this monitor is because with my VG278H I just felt that my reaction time was slow on my part, not on the monitor, this was an issue with me. I am an older guy so my eyes are not what they use to be plus I where glasses, And I also play at my desk. The ASUS VG278H is an awesome monitor too dont get me wrong, but now this smaller one I can focus my eyes a lot better for me. Bottom line this monitor is beautiful and yes you will see people say you will not benefit with this monitor if you are using it for a console. Its your money do what you like with it, but from a PS4 fan this monitor works awesome. The one tip I will give is the TRACE FREE fuction, set that to 60 or 80, not a 100 you will see a bit of screen tearing or like the ps4 is trying to catch up to the monitor, other than that GET THIS MONITOR!!!!

> 3 dayThis is the best monitor I have ever owned , My previous monitor was only 60 HZ with 1ms responce time ,My computer I put together is above average running a 8 core processor 32 GB memory EVGA motherboard ,EVGA 2070 gaming GPU and 2-TB solid state sansung , I used a high Quality display cable to connect from monitor to GPU and I have logged about 12 hours of game play with this monitor , playing Assassin Creed valhalla and its absolutly the best I have ever had , great colors very smooth and clear , I never knew how much vegatation is in this game till now , One of the things I used to struggle with are the stupid tattos you have to chase , Well not any more I captured like three of them in about ten minutes , they are a lot easier to see and follow now , Combat and everything else is much better , I read a lot of negative reviews about the color , But this monitor has great color for my setup , I have no complaints , early mornings /high noon /afternoons and night all are very real , Cloud cover /sunshine/ rain /fog/wind/ fire /smoke/sunrise/sunset all great on my build , I may just be lucky , But I am happy with this monitor ! Have a nice day and good luck !

> 3 dayBOY IS THIS A NICE MONITOR. IVE NEVER USED A MONITOR THIS SIZE AND I CAN USE IT WITHOUT THE AID OF GLASSES--A REAL POSITIVE FOR ME. THE COLORS ARE EXCELLENT AND YOU CAN ATTACH IT TO YOUR COMPUTER WITH DVI, HDMI, OR A DISPLAY PORT. THE SPEED AND REFRESH RATE ARE IDEAL FOR ACTION. DO YOU KNOW THAT ASUS MAKES MOST OFTHE INNARDS OF LAPTOPS. THE GEEKS AT BEST BUY TOLD ME THAT AND THEY HAD NO REASON TO MISREPRESENT THEMSELVES. MAKES ME WONDER IF ASUS DOESNT MAKE MONITORS FOR OTHER BRANDS. THIS MONITOR IS A WINNER AND WILL BE A BEST SELLER. CHECK OUT THE REVIEWS ON YOTUBE. 9-16-2015 I reviewed all the new monitors now on the market and again settled for a second Asus VG248QE. This monitor keeps making the top 5 monitors for gaming and general use. I have no complaints with the color rendition or clarity provided by this exceptional monitor. The price has come down since last year so that is another benefit. I watched quite of few YouTube videos of monitors available and even though there are good monitors available for less money they do not have all the bells and whistles plus the 144hz that is easily obtained with DVI-D. DisplayPort will also do the same and the Newer HDMI versions 2.0 up are getting there. I recommend this monitor for all uses and it is very well built and perhaps a little heavier than some but to me that means it has good sturdy construction. The new VG278QE is just a larger version and if you want a 27 monitor I think it would be an excellent choice--little more expensive but same quality, etc.

31-10-2024Up Date! Three Monitor system. Gaming imagery is beyond belief! Trine 3D video game on all three is mind blowing and Tom Clancys Rainbow Six Siege is life like. I first tried the ICC Profile in Color Management to fix the color imbalance with white being lighter or darker on monitors but that didnt work. I even tried the Lightboost Hack but the resolution of 5760 by 1080 thats needed to combined all three monitors is not compatible with the strobelight hack. All LCD monitors are going to have some kind of color imbalance within our peripheral vision but IPS monitors are not. So, Ive no longer notice the white imbalance and while watching movies I try to sit directly in front of the middle monitor to try and stop peripheral vision imbalance. There are no color imbalance in 3D or gaming and sometimes even the movies Ive watched I was using Cyberlink player to watch video files stretched out to all three monitors, but Cyberlink took ripped files and made them look like cam copies, so I used DivX Player that has the option to customize video resolution into 5760 by 1080 and it plays video files stretched out on all three monitors beautifully. Ive also got 3D showing through all three monitors using Deep Space 3D Screensaver resolution of 5760 by 1080 full screen. Cyberlink is my 3D player but it will not stretch to all monitors -- a 3D player for PC will have to be invented that can stretch videos to all monitors in full screen mode

31-10-2024I have been happy with most ASUS products I have owned over the years. Reading some of the harsh critical comments about this unit did give me pause, but I went with my gut feeling and purchased it anyway. So far I am very happy with it. I find the standard setting to be the best compromise as far as what, to my eyes, seems accurate and natural looking for games. I bought this to replace a 20 HP which I got at Walmart years ago. However, I wanted to step up from 60Hz to 122 or 144, since my video card is fully capable of 150 frames per second on my games. I play FPS pc games pretty exclusively and this monitor has given me a slight edge, when combined with a larger mouse pad and my Razer mouse/keyboard. The bigger screen and smoother action has helped me with twitch targeting slightly, and is much more pleasurable to view overall. Foolishly, I initially went to a website to find what the experts recommended as far as user-tweakable settings and, along with a few other things, cranked up the Trace Free setting to 100, as directed. Later, when I tested one of my games, I was getting horrible ghost-like edges and a rainbowish motion blur. Of course, I completely forgot about the Trace Free setting and became disillusioned when I returned all settings to what I thought was factory default, and the problem persisted. Eventually, after much exasperation, I returned the Trace Free setting to factory, (40), and the monitor looks beautiful now. As far as the low ratings here, I must conclude that there are simply enthusiasts here who are a bit too snobbish for their own good. Are there better monitors out there? Sure, I have seen a couple, but, if you are like me and you do not want to invest $600 in a monitor, then look no further. This one will be a very welcome upgrade. I recommend you buy it.

> 3 dayI like it. For the price that I got it at, I really, really like it. Ive read on a lot of reviews that people dont like the finish and how it attracts dust, I personally dont mind. When I got it I thought, wow people complain so much about such a small detail. But if it matters that much to you then, I dont know then, maybe a different monitor to avoid getting annoyed by the dust it collects? It honestly doesnt collect dust that much if you dust weekly (and my pc set up is in my bedroom so a blanket + carpet flooring by comparison) For the colors that people complain about, I just went into the monitor settings and adjusted the screen color and contrast to the way I find comfortable for my eyes. I did find that the default setting when you first get it did bother my eyes a little bit. If you work with photo shop or other applications and need precise color display then I wouldnt recommend this monitor, it was specifically for gaming for me. I dont have any complaints about the monitor, other than its a bit too big for my desk set up, but I have another monitor so thats my problem. My first 144 Hz monitor, the change in experience is pretty great. Changed my life forever. Im a college student so for this upgrade I felt it was a good deal (I had wanted a pure black monitor to match the pc color scheme and the other ones in the market didnt fall in that criteria) A month into having this monitor, thats pretty much all I have to say I think; will update if I have problems later.
