Tl:dr - has fully official ota update for wire guard VPN client on router level to connect to your vpn provider

I used the RT-AX88U for a week and its performance was good. However, if you have 1 Gbps or higher it is better to get the GT-AX6000 for about the same price. The GT was launched in 2022 and it has newer components with better performance. The 88U is from 2019 and its performance is not great if you have a 1 Gbps internet connection.

Router was a little tricky to set up, but once I had it set up, the speed of my web pages loading was impressive! Just like being connected by hard wire. Id recommend based on my experience.

Very so often I upgrade my routers an I use different manufacturers. ASUS has been a favorite so I bought this router an so far so good. Handles a lot of smart home devices with no issues. Interface is easy an using the mobile app is simple to use. Setup was a cake walk also. My WiFi signal is fast. Definitely a good buy.

I love the traffic tracking system , it will show you real time WAN / LAN traffic and also shows traffic per day/week/month/device and App. You can restrict bandwidth per device, firewall and QoS so you can prioritize what kind of stream will have higher priority in the router.

Bought to replace AC87U which started to give up after 9 years of service.

Tienen un monton de funciones y se le pueden agregar mas con el firmware de ASUS asuswrt-merlin, muy sastifecho en ese apartado que era lo que principalmente buscaba, la señal y demas es buena, como producto WIFI 6 es bueno, lo unico malo es que no tiene puertos Multigigabit (mas de un 1Gbps de velocidad)

This router has turned out to be an excellent choice. It is made with quality materials, and has worked great from the first moment that I set it up. The setup is quick and easy, and you have the option to use basic settings or you can choose advanced setting, where advanced offers a lot of choices. The WiFi signal in my house has expanded greatly, and even older WiFi signals seem faster and more responsive. WiFi 6 is out of this world fast!

Purchased this 10/2021 and after setting it up the wi-fi speeds were insane. The first 5 days I was extremely pleased. Then, as others have stated, the wi-fi started randomly dropping. Working from home, this has become a serious issue but par for the course for Asus. As others have recommended, I have disabled the ax mode and I will hope for the best. I wont even mess with the AI mesh as there are major issues there. Firmware has been upgraded when initially set-up and I will continue to update if anything changes. When the router works, its beyond excellent, but seriously aggravating with the wi-fi and AI mesh issues.
