I really don’t even want to give it a star! My problem isn’t so much with the product as it is with the tech support. It worked for about 3 weeks. I called Amazon who put with the tech support with ASUS. They had me hard rest which didn’t work! They said they would email me on what to do. Then it started working and worked for about 4 days then stopped. I call Amazon for a replacement and get sent back to ASUS tech again we hard reset. I have hard rest 4 times in 2 months! Instead of saying hey let’s send you a replacement then you can send the defective one back so that you will have Internet they want me to hard reset again. I have now been dealing with this since May2021…two months with out internet. I live in a campground with no Wifi so this was what I had to do. Now Amazon wants refund my money cause they don’t have anymore of this model but because it is past the 30 days they are charging me a restocking fee of $53 dollars!!!! So $53 dollars less than what I paid for it! So be ware when buying this product from Amazon!

Can’t wait to hook it up and see how it performs. For now we assume it’ll be as advertised and blow current time capsule out of the water. If there’s an update will come back.

I upgraded from my previous asus router because with a growing number of IOT devices and a large family, I started running into wifi drops. I installed this router and my problems went away.

Tried out the Netgear and TP Link routers as well, and this one got me the best download speeds with the most customizeable setting on the interface. Download speeds of 550-650 mbps on wifi on my gigabit internet.

The analytics and tools - such as traffic analyser, parental tools, site blocking, etc - require you to agree to alow Trend Micro to see your activity. Nope. I would have returned it if Id realized that sooner. Also, one of the eight ethernet ports is dead after a month. And the dhcp server seems to have a habit of trying to assign the same ip address to multiple items on occasion. The range on wireless the same as older Netgear. Wifi 6 works as expected - okay if you are close. My first and last Asus router. Better than Netgear since theyve gone down hill in recent years. Ill try TP Link next time around.

Terrible device. Terrible customer service. After having it for 3 days and it failing to connect to the internet, I decided to reach out to customer service for help in setting up the device. It took an hour for me to connect to a representative each of the 4 times that I reached out and the representatives seemed to not know what they are doing. They offered no help and often left me stranded with the device. One would hope that for a device this expensive and that boasts about how easy it is to set up, there would be some sort of system in place to make sure that customers have help if need be. Would not recommend.

Wow, WIFI 6 is the real deal. Im able to transfer files to/from my server at nearly 1.5GB/s speeds wirelessly to my Razer laptop with a AX200NGW wifi card. This is faster than if I was directly connected with a wire. Really impressed with this performance. Firmware and android app are well built and have a lot of functionality. I like the AIProtection being on-board and parental controls that are well laid out.

There are so many compatibility issues with both wifi 5 and wifi 6 clients on the the 5ghz signal, that the router is completely unusable. Internet connections drop even when there is a signal, and signals drop multiple times per day. Happens with multiple laptops and cell phones. Tried updating drivers, and various settings on the 5ghz network. The 2.4ghz network works fine. Ive seen similar issues with other wifi 6 routers, so it may not be an issue with this router but a broader wifi 6 standard issue. Regardless, it is still unusable. Going to revert back to my old router.

I got this to use as my router so we could turn our RT-AX88U into a node in an AiMesh network and get coverage across our apartment. Both my boyfriend and I are gamers, so we have the router set up in the gaming room and set the AX88U up in the bedroom so we could have a connection in that room, too (the 88U doesnt reach well on its own). We had our PCs hardwired and probably 20 other devices connected wirelessly.
