> 3 dayIVE USED WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS FOR YEARS. EACH YEAR I REMOVE THEM FROM THE WINDOW FOR CLEANING. IT IS AN ORDEAL BECAUSE I NEVER HAVE USED A GOOD QUALITY MOUNTING BRACKET. I EACH TIME I REMOVED THE AIR CONDITIONER I WAS CONCERNED THAT I MAY DAMAGE MY WINDOW BECAUSE I USED NO PROPER MOUNTING SYSTEM. I ORDERED THIS UNIT AND WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH HOW EASY IT WAS TO INSTALL. IT LITERALLY TOOK ABOUT FIVE MINUTES TO ASSEMBLE AND PLACE IN THE WINDOW OPENING. THIS BRACKET SYSTEM IS REALLY MADE OF HEAVY DUTY QUALITY MATERIALS. ASSEMBLY TOOK JUST SECONDS. ADJUSTING THE UNIT TO MY WINDOW WAS ALSO JUST A FEW MOMENTS. IM HIGHLY SATISFIED AND PLAN ON ORDERING TWO MORE FOR MY OTHER WINDOW UNITS.

> 3 dayWe are so happy with this product. Sturdy, Strong, Reliable, quick to assemble and very easy to use. Holds the air conditioner in the appropriate position at the appropriate angle. The feet that rest against your house/apartment/office have silicone nobs as to not damage siding. Another great feature about the feet is they are flexible to accommodate different types of siding. The legs have several adjustment options for any angle needed and securely lock into place. I definitely recommend this product if you plan to put an air conditioner in an upper storey home/apartment/office window. We tried several others that werent terrible but none compared to the sturdiness and peace of mind this Bracket provided. Youll also notice your air conditioner will run quieter because it is sturdy.

> 3 dayThis was easy to assemble. It looks nice from the outside. We live in a second story condo and put it in our primary bedroom. It feels sturdy even with a heavy AC unit on it.

> 3 dayI bought this brace for my new AC and the pins cannot work since the holes do NOT line up .. Attempted to contact company regarding this and they never bothered to get back to me. I also found another person who had the same issue. Poor quality control. Poor customer service. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO RE-LINE THE HOLES UP TO FIT

Greater than one weekThis is overall a very good product, from the standpoint of support and security, once you learn to adapt it to your particular situation. I had to improvise, since the unit for which I had bought it had under-unit channels for the accordian flanges that made it impossible to fit the only possible place in the TopShelf. So I had to have the a-c sit totally on top of the Shelf in order to bring the window down behind the top rail rather than in front of it. This required some extra carpentry and insulation and the making of extra panels to keep out external air. Still, my major concern is the security of the a-c, and in this it doesnt fail. Our old farmhouse window doesnt have any added stress with TopShelf

> 3 dayThis is a well-built, heavy-duty product with a clean look. Assembly was simple, and once in place it made installation of the AC itself surprisingly quick and easy. For once, no shims or screws were necessary. In my experience maintaining a rental property, window AC setups are typically improvised affairs. Ive never installed or adjusted an AC without a good bit of shimming and foam-stuffing. Especially in older homes, window ACs are just an inherently kludgey solution—and the Top Shelf bracket wont change that fundamental fact. In my case, the bracket didnt alleviate the need for plugging some air gaps, nor did I really expect it to. Its main benefit is post-installation peace of mind: Im not worried about the AC shifting or, worse, a tenant accidentally opening a sash and the whole thing tipping out the window. The bracket is solid, and Im confident the AC isnt going anywhere. But given all the variables—e.g., window casing, wall thickness, siding type—Id recommend reading the manufacturer notes and customer reviews carefully before buying. Or, better yet, contacting the company. As other reviewers have noted, the owner is exceptionally responsive. Before purchasing, I emailed him a query with photos of my window, and he replied in less than a half hour, with attached illustrations addressing my questions.

> 3 dayI purchased the Top Shelf TBS-2438 air conditioner support to hold a very large unit. Assembly and insulation were easy. It took a few minutes to adjust the position of the supports against the exterior wall, to accommodate the wall thickness. However, you should only need to do this once, unless you plan on disassembling it each time you use it. Since I have vinyl windows I was concerned with damage that could be caused by resting the air conditioner on the window frame and holding it in place with the upper sash. The thickness of the metal and painted finish are better than I expected. And if and it is very sturdy, if you assemble it correctly and make sure it is level. I am pleased with the product and can recommend it.

> 3 dayAlthough this support seems expensive, its worth every penny. It make your install a breeze. No tools needed for the support at all, only for the AC curtains (a screwdriver). I take that back. I did need a small level for the support to get the air conditioner draining correctly. Correction: Im pretty sure if I remember right, I think it has a built-in level.

> 3 dayUnit does not fit well for NYC condo buildings and after a few emails to the company still have not get word back if this unit is Local Law 11 approved or not for NYC. I do not think it is because it only has one point of attachment to the window frame instead of anchored in to the building. The trough is also not designed for commercial windows found on multiple dweller residential buildings but only for residential homes as the window casing is not as tall as commercial windows are. The bracket will not sit down far enough into the window frame and thus you will have a weird angled AC that will be hard to sit flush against the window. The wings that sit against the window frame could also be made of a higher gauge steel/a little bigger/thicker so as to distribute the weight more and give a better hold. We have a medium sized 12,000BTU AC and it does not sit in the channel like the shelf is designed for. It served its purpose for getting an AC in the window and passing visual inspection but it is not supporting the AC since it does not fit the window frame correctly. Still no word on if it is Local Law 11 approved. for $100 it should be Local Law 11 approved.

> 3 dayOrdered 3 of these for rental units and will probably get more for my mom’s house. Yes they are expensive but the ease of installation, the fact that they don’t damage the new vinyl siding, and the solid support they are worth it. I watched the video before putting it together. Literally a 5-min installation for me (female, age 50 with back issues). My husband normally tackles the annual a/c install and removal but this year i did it no problem. And there was no worries that they woukd fall on people below. After one full season of use I do see minor rust on a couple places but a wipedown and a bit of metal paint will keep them in good shape.
