My 22,000 btu unit and I think most large ac units require the outside metal cabinet be installed and secured first. Then the actual ac unit is lifted up and slides into the cabinet from the home interior pushing the unit outward thru the window and into the cabinet. The ac units bottom is a tray that has all the components bolted to it. The bottom tray of the ac unit is the bottom of the whole air conditioner so the cabinet itself has a large opening in the bottom. Problem is the cabinet is open at the bottom with slide rails on each side. The cabinet falls down and around the bracket unsupported. Once installed the ac units bottom tray will rest on the bracket but the cabinet needs to be supported at during installation.

This shelf has been fantastic. I was not sure if I wanted to buy it due to the price, but it was worth every penny. It was easy to install and did a great job. I got a huge window AC to cool down my living room, dining room, and kitchen so the AC unit was about 90lbs and I didnt want to ruin my windows by not using a brace. This shelf was easy to put together and fit into the window and gave my AC unit the extra support it needed.

This ac mount is well made. It was packed well too. My Milgard windows are flush with outside wall. Before purchase, I looked at TopShelf Website. I knew the two feet at base would not touch my wall without a little modification. Each foot is removable and has four holes with rubber cushions inserted. I removed the cushions and attached a piece of primed, painted wood (approx 1 in. pad) using wood screws. I believe the attached wood provides even better distribution of force on the stucco wall. The mount works well and looks good.

I was surprised that it was as good as they said it was . It had all the parts only a couple of dings in it so all I had to do was put a heavy spray seal on it just like new . Not often you get an item that’s $76.00 for $17.00 . Works great

This AC support was easy to assemble and install. No drilling required was the best part. This support made installing a 160lb window AC much much easier. Make you measure your AC prior to purchasing this AC support. Take note of the recommended usage. Reach out if you have questions. You may be able to still use it if you have a 2 piece AC.

Relatively easy to put together, super easy to install, very sturdy. Holds 59 lb air conditioner with no problem. Looks great. Directions are a bit difficult to understand. Has buttons on opposite sides that allow for very fine support arm length adjustment. Only one snaps into place at a time. Finding that in instructions is a challenge.

This is probably the most attractive window A/C mount, but the position of the bottom rail forced the unit to sit under the window instead of in front of it. This meant that the A/C units top rail didnt have anything to grab onto without additional parts. To keep the A/C unit stable, I had to cut down a piece of wood to wedge into the window track so there would be something for the A/Cs top rail to grab. After painting the wood to match the window, it all looks perfectly fine... but I wasnt expecting the extra work. Ideally, a universal mount would provide all of the hardware necessary to make install relatively makeshift-free in a large number of windows. I slightly prefer the Jeacent mount thats sold for roughly the same cost, although that mount also required me to use a wood shim to get the A/Cs extension panels to sit flush around the window frame.

High-quality product, making installation of window a/c really simple. Im using it for a 10k BTU Friedrich chill premier window a/c, its very sturdy and secured. Good overall, but theres one design flaw which is that a/c is installed level, and not slightly slanted towards the outside as recommended by the manufacturer. This happens because the brackets slot where the ACs bottom railing is sitting in is pushed out further from the window seal. Fortunately with my specific AC unit, this didnt cause any water to come into the house. Also, $90 is a bit pricey for a piece of metal bracket.

The first one of these had a couple small flaws in the paint so I returned and it was replaced promptly. This is amazingly study, quality piece of equipment. Assembly is easy and almost intuitive after a quick look at the directions. I usually use smaller 5000BTU air conditioners and have installed in the past without an outside support. However, with a new 65 pound 10,000 BTU unit, I was uneasy balancing it in the vinyl window. Most of the support units require drilling holes in the outside window sill, but this unit does not, a real plus as I need to remove it in the fall. This was an excellent choice. I felt like I could adjust the unit in the window, knowing it was well supported and safe. Recommend!

Top-Shelf is fantastic! I highly recommend Top-Shelf air conditioner supports. I purchased two of the Top-Shelf units and these have saved me a loads and loads of frustration in installing my air conditioners every summer. Previously, the weight of each air conditioner was precariously pressed against the top window pane while my back was killing me trying to prevent them from toppling out the window during installation and removal for the fall and winter months. The installation of the two Top-Shelf window air conditioner supports was very easy – although initially it looked a little confusing. As there are very many styles of windows, my reinstalled windows did not need the sliding left and right wings that come with the kit as the bottom of my reinstalled windows adequately support my air conditioners. As the instructions specify, there is no requirement for drilling or using additional tools, fasteners or hardware. They even included rubber feet for the foot brackets that press against the house siding under the air conditioners. However, what I did need to purchase extra were a couple of packages of Frost King Air Conditioner Weatherseals (1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 42 available on Amazon). This was necessary to fill in air gaps under the air conditioner – both inside and outside of the house (which I would have needed anyway with or without Top-Shelf).
