> 24 hourWith other reviews on this item I was hopeful this product would do as advertised. It is functional as a support for my large window Air conditioner. If you want something that will hold up large 80+ lb ac unit you will get it here. The reason I did not give it a 5 star is because it did not come with clear instructions and there are no videos online that address this specific install. Putting it together is a no brainer i had it together in around a minute. The install on the other hand took me around a half hour to get the support system in place accurately. Making sure to have the tilt if any to the outside not to the inside of the window was a bit difficult. I live on 3rd story of the building so it is difficult to dangle out the window and adjust. It did finally get to the spot I needed; however it left many large gaps to be filled. We have windows that are tilt in to clean and deep casement. If this is the type you have, make sure you get rigid foam boards to fill gaps because there will be many. Once filled and in place it works wonderful. No longer do I have to worry about the unit falling out of the window.

> 24 hourWas easy to install and seemed quite sturdy. Was a touch expensive though and doesn’t really fully bear the weight of the AC except at the window jam. The problem is really with the AC as it doesn’t allow for that suggested 4deg down bubble due to being ‘clipped’ into the window pane. But my landlord said we needed brackets on all AC units so here we are.

> 24 hourThis unit is identical to a Black and Decker unit being offered on Amazon right now. The Black and Decker offer provides a very helpful instructional video. Watch the B&D instructional video to know how this thing works. I found the B&D video AFTER installing the shelf (and I bought it two years ago). I realized it is not for my type of window (double pane), but it still works for my situation, with some adjustments and customizations.

> 24 hourPurchased this specific model because the window is visible from the street and we wanted to be able to remove the AC when no longer needed without leaving an ugly support in place. I think they designed it to support twice the weight of any model AC just in case. Incredibly sturdy and the pins allow for minute adjustment to ensure a perfect angle for your AC to drain. Only draw back is just how much more it costs than a standard model. Bit too much more. I would have continued to shop around but were out of time with company arriving.

> 24 hourYoull likely need a ton of insulating foam to seal up all the cracks this leaves, but it solves a niche issue and for that I am very thankful. The rubber feet pads are terrifyingly hard to press in and fall out almost immediately - also the spring loaded button stops for the arms are not particularly made the best - one refused to pop out no matter what I tried. Rest of the item seems very sturdily built. Like some other reviewers I have outside flush vinyl windows and no real good way to brace a heavier AC. The last AC I put in damaged the window due to its weight so I needed something to help with the bracing, but didnt want to fabricate my own wooden bracket or shove a 2x4 in my lawn. I set this flush with my inside frame, so the arms in front grab on the sides of the window sill - then used a ton of foam to seal up all the cracks. Not the prettiest but definitely is getting the job done so far.

> 24 hourTop-Shelf is fantastic! I highly recommend Top-Shelf air conditioner supports. I purchased two of the Top-Shelf units and these have saved me a loads and loads of frustration in installing my air conditioners every summer. Previously, the weight of each air conditioner was precariously pressed against the top window pane while my back was killing me trying to prevent them from toppling out the window during installation and removal for the fall and winter months. The installation of the two Top-Shelf window air conditioner supports was very easy – although initially it looked a little confusing. As there are very many styles of windows, my reinstalled windows did not need the sliding left and right wings that come with the kit as the bottom of my reinstalled windows adequately support my air conditioners. As the instructions specify, there is no requirement for drilling or using additional tools, fasteners or hardware. They even included rubber feet for the foot brackets that press against the house siding under the air conditioners. However, what I did need to purchase extra were a couple of packages of Frost King Air Conditioner Weatherseals (1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 42 available on Amazon). This was necessary to fill in air gaps under the air conditioner – both inside and outside of the house (which I would have needed anyway with or without Top-Shelf).

> 24 hourI had my old windows replaced with vinyl after air conditioner season last year. When I recently went to install my ACs, I discovered they no longer would mount the way they used to without the support of the old storm window housing along with not being able to drill into the new window sash or sill. I had no idea what I was going to do until I saw this product. It is absolutely perfect for my application. It took less than two minutes to put the pieces together and get ready to install. I was impressed with the sturdiness of the bracket and the way it locked down by moving the legs closer to the exterior of the house one click at a time. By the time I was ready to hoist the AC onto it, I had 100% confidence the bracket would stay firmly in place. As an added bonus, the thinner layers of packaging material make for excellent flexible insulation around the areas where gaps will ocur below and to the side of the unit. Also, because I have vinyl siding, I used some of the styrofoam to put between the feet and the house.

> 24 hourI loved this easy to assemble, adjustable, very sturdy brace for my window a/c unit. Unfortunately, I could not use it because the shape of the actual air conditioner and window sill combination did not allow the a/c to rest on the brace properly. Bummer—it was exactly what I needed, and would have made seasonal removal so much easier. So there is slightly more to it than measuring the dimensions as suggested in the instructions, but I’m not sure how I would have known without buying it and trying it. (I have the very popular GE Profile PHC08LYQ1 (6150 BTU) and the similar 8100 BTU. They have the same cabinet, so didn’t work with either one, but the problem was how the a/c had to sit in my particular window frame).

> 24 hourSuper easy to set up. Read instructions, and it literally takes 5-10 minutes. It is very sturdy, and good quality. The reason I can’t give a good rating and my complaint is that for the price, why on earth would they leave the part where you put your AC with a glossy, very slippery surface?? Why not ad a gritty texture in the paint there, or ad a plastic slip proof surface, so when you are setting the AC on it, it isn’t susceptible to sliding around or even sliding off to possibly a long way down!? I was (an still am) shocked how slick and slippery it is and I want to shift my AC around and put more foam around our window to seal it better, and opening the window and moving it really does make me nervous, because of that huge design flaw.

> 24 hourFit great, supports our large ac. We did install a block of wood between the frame and the window, and did end up drilling two small holes for the wings but I didnt mind - worth it for the peace of mind.
