Greater than one weekI dont know what i did before we had Carl. Carl has become part of our house, one dog dont care, the other dog runs away from it, and the cat attacks it, but even after all of that torment Carl sucks it up and keeps cleaning. Sometimes Carl gets a little drunk and runs in circles, but for the most part does an amazing job at tracking its routes and cleaning in an efficient manner.

> 3 dayWe have a cat and two German shepherds. This thing is a must have unless you enjoy vacuuming on a daily basis. I chose this over doing lots of research with just about every brand due to the fact that this has a bag less design. The description says 60 days without emptying the bin. That may be true for other people, but for me with our pets. I need to empty this thing between 1-2 weeks just with pet hair. If I had a model that required bags, I’d be paying the cost of this unit just in bags every year. This thing has already run through dog poop and urine. Which obviously should be avoided, but after some quick disassembly and cleaning it was back up in a few days going strong. Navigation is great and it cleans my whole first floor in about an hour. The only con for me is the app but there’s really nothing bad about it, it just could stand to have some more features. All in all this thing is great.

> 3 dayI think it does a great job picking up dust and dirt, and I like the mapping system so I can do specific rooms, areas, etc. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a one-stop-shop for deep cleaning. Often in tight corners I’ll find crumbs and dust after running. And the mapping took a while to set up, and still misses a few spots when I run in certain areas. Still need a regular vaccum or duster for tighter corners

> 3 dayI had been contemplating upgrading my iRobot 670 for some time. It wasn’t really doing the job. I have 2 dogs, both heavy shedders. Working full-time and going to school full time I wanted something to help maintain a clean floor. This isn’t a replacement for a regular vacuum but it really comes close and does a great job. The mapping created during initial exploration is very accurate and the robot follows it each time. The floor upon which it roams is probably 90% low pile carpet (the bane of my existence until I can replace it with vinyl plank). Keep in mind, if there are any loose threads they will get caught. This is common for me because my husky and German shepherd so if I see one, I cut it to avoid that problem. For those who are terrible at cable management such as myself, it will normally navigate around or over cords though I would keep them clear. Small cables like mini USB or charging cables can get sucked up. It has three suction modes (eco, normal and max). For my purposes I always use Max and it’s not incredibly noisy. It is far quieter than my old Roomba. I can still watch tv comfortably and hear perfectly fine while its running. The self-emptying bin works great. Some complain it’s loud but it’s not that bad, and c’mon, it only takes about 10 seconds. The first couple times I ran it, I had to manually empty the dust cup on the robot because of dog hair. I think it was just finding more than I got with my regular vacuum. Now, running it once daily I haven’t had to do it. Oh, another great thing about this robot is the roller. Dog hair will not get caught in it !! With my old Roomba, I had to de-hair the roller after each use. Overall, this unit was significantly more than I ever wanted to pay, but so far it’s been worth it because of its efficiency and low maintenance. I’m really happy that I pulled the trigger.

> 3 dayFor the price and the reviews I expected a lot more from this bot. There are almost no directions with it. It only maps one floor. So probably works great if you have only one floor. But if you have more than one floor what customer service told me is you have to turn the machine off, carry it to new floor, and start it not from the app (or it will mess up your map), but just push the clean button. Then on any other floor but the main one it is not a smart robot. It just bounces around randomly until it decides it is done cleaning and then stops and says it cant find its base. In my experience of almost a month it misses entire rooms. I would rather have a robot without the self empty base that is smart no matter where you put it and cleans the whole house. I had a Neato D85 for years before this and it did that. No app, no mapping, but who cares? What I care about is my house getting clean and this bot is not doing it. Have two more days to return, but I got it on sale and cant afford the one I really want- Roomba i7+.

10-11-2024I have mixed feelings about this robot, who we named Hank (you are supposed to name him for the app). I find him to be quieter than a regular vacuum, and the suction in normal mode is very good. Our carpets and hardwood floors get very clean. However, he seems to suffer from some form of dementia. We have had him map our very small 1-story home twice, have labeled the rooms that we want cleaned. He starts out great. Does the living room, moves on to the bedroom, and begins the kitchen. So far so good. At around this point he goes back to the dock to empty himself. He then returns to where he was in the kitchen.....and then quits the kitchen and meanders into the living room and goes back over a section he has already done, wanders over by the front door and spends a minute or two going over that area again, goes in circles for a short time, and returns to do the kitchen again. About 10 minutes after emptying, he apparently remembers that there is a dining room. He does the dining room. He then returns to the living room for the third time and moves with a lack of pattern over areas he has already done twice. He may revisit the kitchen for a third time. Left alone, he will eventually return to the dock and be done, but we get tired of avoiding him (if we stand in front of him he apparently thinks his map now has a new wall, and he is clueless enough without adding that) and we just say ok good enough Hank, and instruct him via the app to go back to the dock and stop. This robot would likely work well if he were run while nobody was home so he can backtrack and circle and redo till his battery runs out (assuming he doesnt have some sort of error code at some point). I am not sure what the AI in his name refers to, but the I is presumably not for intelligence. I might suggest looking elsewhere.

> 3 dayIve been using our Shark AV2501AE for a little over a year. My home is mostly hard wood floors, with one carpeted bedroom. While it seems to clean very well on the carpet, it needs to be put into maximum suction mode to be very effective on the wood floors. This causes the battery to deplete faster which usually requires it have to return to charge before finishing all the rooms. I should also note that it makes fairly slow progression from room to room. If youre not home while its working, it wont bother you. I work from home, so I notice how long it takes. In our home, the first floor is around 1,800 sq/ft. It makes two trips with a charge in between. The total time vacuuming is around 2 hours. Here are the pros/cons that Ive experienced: PROS It attempts to get every inch of floor, so its pretty thorough when it works. You dont have to vacuum yourself. Self-emptying bin at the base is great! Bin is easy to empty as well. CONS The app has frequently lost the map of the floorplan, the room border designations or both (customer service had me factory reset the vacuum and reinstall app, but it still happens). It isnt able to clean corners very well or wall edges that have cabinet overhangs. It frequently gets stuck and needs assistance to keep moving. Sometimes it leaves random areas of rooms uncleaned. It picks up hair it gets wound around the spinning brush. You have to unscrew the cover plate and remove the hair from the end of the cylinder brush where it builds up (just human hair here - no pets) I end up using a broom to pull out debris from hard to reach corners and under cabinet edges so the Shark can vacuum them. I also move rugs and obstacles out of the way so that it wont snag on them or get turned around and lose track of where it is. If I wasnt here at the house to baby it, it would be very frustrating. The sad truth is that if I just swept and vacuumed myself, I would finish in less than half the time this Shark takes. If you want something you can just schedule to vacuum and forget while youre at work, I would look elsewhere.

> 3 dayPrior to this one, I had an off brand robot that never truly mapped my house after the first time. I hesitated in getting another one but with cats, I needed something. I seen great reviews. I have used it now 3 times and it’s mapped my house and vacuumed everywhere with no issues. It does miss some of the cat litter But otherwise it’s great. It definitely decreases the time I spend cleaning the floors.
