11-11-2024The robot just finished mapping the two rooms where it will be used and is now doing its first cleaning. It is considerably quieter than any vacuum I have ever owned. Its ability to navigate the house is better than my own; Im old. We got it because our two long hair, indoor cats somehow got fleas and an important part of the considerable effort required to rid the house of them is frequent vacuuming. I will update this review as I gain experience. So far, as I watch it clean, it has picked up every bit of visible cat hair and dirt. Fabulous so far.

> 3 dayI researched and studied and tossed it back and forth in my mind forever….. and now I feel stupid because this f’n thing is amazing! I have a dog and a cat and Steve (I named it Steve) has gobbled up every strand of fur there is. There is also something incredible about the carpet ALWAYS having nice straight clean vacuum lines! I’ve already bought another one for my downstairs! One will do both levels but I’m too lazy to carry it.

> 3 dayWe have had this vacuum for awhile now and it works pretty well. Its a great alternitive for sweeping. The mopping function also works well and even with having to swap out parts and adding water its still better than traditional mopping. We have two cats that make hair a constant problem. Running this every other day makes the hair go away. It works better on tile than carpet but still not bad on carpet

Greater than one weekVacuum works well. Cleans as well if not better than any manual vacuum we have owned. Still a challenge to handle all the pet hair but this is not a surprise given all the fur my dog puts out. Mop feature works well with good cleaner.

> 3 dayI bought a rumba 03+ I had nothing but trouble with it. So I bought the shark and it’s been just a fabulous machine. It’s very reliable. It does a good job and I’ve had no problem with it too. I would recommend it to anyone who never wants to push The vacuum around their house again

> 3 dayIt’s not perfect but it’s convenient and effective. We’ve used it 5 days a week for the past few months. It does a good job of keeping the floor vacuumed and mopped. Still leaves behind some clumps of hair and the floors aren’t that clean after mopping but they are shinier. It doesn’t have an indicator/sensor for the dust bin which can be clogged with the hair from our two cats. The dust bin and associated filter attached to the robot needs cleaned out at least weekly and it’s the same for the dock’s bin. I can’t imagine leaving this unattended for 30-60 days as advertised. Cleaning out the robot’s dust bin is annoying because I always feel like I’m going to break the small plastic clamps. The app is functional and has gotten better in the time I’ve had it. It’s easy to schedule the robot for cleaning and to access the history. I was happy to see they added a map of the cleaning history. It doesn’t allow me to invite others to “household” in the app so we have to share a login. The app also restricts you to one map meaning some setting are restricted if you want to use it on another floor. When I want to use it on another floor I place the robot on the dock, turn it off, take it to an open corner in the area I want cleaned, turn it on, then press clean. Despite the shortcomings I would but it again.

> 3 dayWe have a complicated house layout and the RV2501SE AI Series Robot did a pretty good job of mapping on the first pass. It does a number of things better than the previous RV100AE (renewed) we purchased on Amazon and subsequently returned. The RV2501SE is more thorough in its coverage, has longer battery life, better self-cleaning performance, is less spastic in working around obstacles and in short, does a better all around job. It has one shortcoming however, a feature I really liked on the RV100AE. It wont respond to the magnetic boundary strips which I previously used to block off areas I dont want the robot to cross. On this model, Shark wants you to use their No-Go Zones. I just want to establish a line not to cross, not set up an area to stay out of. For example, I want the robot to avoid cables on the carpet along the wall in my office. A No-Go Zone requires establishing a square or rectangular box which cannot be manipulated into just a straight line, so you wind up specifying a lot more carpet to be skipped vs laying a magnetic boundary strip down and the robot will simply not crossing it. I really am disappointed by Shark omitting this simple feature on this model (and perhaps on all AI models).

> 3 dayThe technology is amazing but I find the programming non-intuitive. Trying to map out the carpeted areas so that the moping function wont reach it is impossible. Naming the room is also another chore. Most irritating is that the price has dropped another $50 since I bought it less than 3 weeks ago and I have yet been able to test its full function since I will need my daughters help to program it. Wondering if I should return it and get a replacement for $50 less.

> 3 dayThis robot arrived a few days ago and I promptly set it up. It had no problem connecting to my eero mesh wifi, which supports 2.4 ghz as well as higher bands. The app setup was easy, and it did a good job mapping the floor. Then I sent it off to clean. The first time through I had to manually pull out all the hair and dust that it accumulated, despite using the setting to evacuate and resume which is supposed to empty itself more frequently. After that it has empted itself fine, and collected a TON of debris. One issue with the robot itself, I picked this model because the self cleaning brushroll was supposed to avoid getting tangled with hair, which is the bane of my existence with my upright vacuum. But no, I have to manually remove hair from the brushroll. Fortunately this is fairly easy to do. Other issue is with the app. There is an extended clean setting where it is supposed to just keep going and going until it has to recharge itself. But this setting would not turn on. I contacted support and they said they would have to perform a firmware update. This happened automagically and the next afternoon the setting worked fine. I wish there was a simple option to relocate the dock in case we decide to move it, but it appears that I will have to delete the map and run through the explore cycle again to do so. I think it is very dumb that you cant map multiple floors with different home locations if you want to relocate the dock to another floor and have it focus on that floor for a day or so. I put it in my basement but the layout is very different and it will clean awhile but eventually get lost. Also that carpet is pretty new and theres a lot of carpet fibers that need to be vacuumed, and it keeps getting clogged and the brushroll is covered in hair and carpet. Once I go through it a few times it should be easy to maintain, but its a pain to start, especially without an accurate map. Why not give the ability to map different floors? Seems like a reasonable feature to add. Overall giving it 4/5 because of the issues noted above, but it seems to work very well and the self-emptying feature is pretty great.
