Light weight and, I cant believe how fast it was to transfer files. I bought this to transfer all my phone pictures because my phone started to lag a bit. Too many pictures over 10k. You can either copy or just move. I didnt want to pay for a cloud because they compress your pictures and you lose the quality. It only took about 6 minutes to transfer all my pictures and video. Couldnt believe it was so fast. You just plug into your phone and just select the pictures you want to move. You can create folders within the drive, so easy to find later. This is safer than the other hard drives because it has no moving parts and will not crash and burn like the other makers. Yes, you can buy memory sticks, but that requires you to have a PC to transfer files. No PC needed just plug and play. Cant get any easier.

This device is small, portable and efficient. It is versatile as well. Very useful between the PC, tablet and other mobile devices. Very like wait.

Quite amaze with the overall quality of that SSD drive, light, compact, so far no issues, I mean for the price, it is really good.

After using it for few days there was 2-3 notification saying there is an error that needs to be fixed or else there will be data lost. But so far no data has been lost yet so I am not sure what is happening.

Its so frustrating to see all these 5-star Amazon reviews when theres SO MUCH info out there about what a piece of crap the T7 is. Forget these reviews and google Samsung T7 overheating and youll be talked out of this purchase.

Samsung has gotten over the incredible blunder of years ago and now is a reputable and reliable supplier. This external SSD is an excellent product, but having to get a password is a real pain. It means another thing to lose, and represents the loss of your data. You now have two things to store securely - the drive, and the password. Losing either one means losing your data. Reformatting to NTFS eliminates this problem, and instead of having to store the password securely, you only have to store the drive in a secure place. That is highly preferable, since you know exactly what you have stored and are guaranteed that you can recover it.

I brought the SAMSUNG SSD T7 Portable External Solid State Drive 1TB to spool off some data from a failing conventional hard-drive. I really needed 2 TB but figured Id try the 1 TB SSD to check performance figuring I can always get a second drive later. The T7 worked as advertised. It is quite compact - almost to the point of having to be very deliberate about keeping track of its location. Data transfer was very fast and was primarily limited by the transfer speed of the other device.
