> 3 dayi received this ssd yesterday, and upon testing it, i noticed that whenever i play a video, it would stutter every 5 seconds or so consistently. this has never happened with my other drives whether HDD or SSD (internal). i have up to date bios and drivers, so not sure what is going on. anyway this is unacceptable for an SSD. returning the product. otherwise, this ssd would have been good. temperature is good. even after transferring 300GB worth of data continuously, it maxed out at around 40+ degress C.

> 3 dayI think samsung is such a great tech company. I love most of their products. The T line of their hard drives are exceptional. So easy to use and portable and fast. Im a music producer and have had the t5 for at least 3 years and its just now running out space. T7 is just as great and I love the compatibility with Samsung phones. GET THIS DRIVE, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

> 3 dayOrdered this product so i can edit videos with it and store videos as an upgrade from my wd passport regular external hd, but i was disappointed with it. It disconnects and its so laggy. i returned the first and asked replacement thinking it might be defective but still the same result when the replacement came in. Not sure if its my system having compatibility issues. im using usb 3 gen 2 connection, i have elite x570 auros mobo. so now im back using my old external wd passport and its even smoother even its just a regular hd external drive. This review is about my experience with it and dont expect it to be the same with your system cuz its all about what system and software you have.

Greater than one weekWith no moving parts these should last until the technology is obsolete and not longer compatible with current technology - like 10 years. But this is not the case as mine has failed only after 6-8 months. This is why I have another brand with the same capacity, keeping them both in synch. So Ive lost no data. Will try to see what BS comes with trying to get it serviced replaced. A lesson to all: just about every consumer product is set up to fail, as long lasting durable products are bad for the companys bottom line.

> 3 dayThis works great as a backup drive. As some other reviews have pointed out it does get hot when under heavy use. I would not attempt to use this as a primary drive. Its worked great with my Macbook to use as a backup drive for Time Machine.

Greater than one weekI have a 3.2 USB port on my Dell gaming laptop and in general the external drive is downloading and/or moving the files very fast. Unfortunately, for games is terible. Is making the laptor to heat continuous and all the games to freeze and exit with errors. It is very frustrating. Actually, I cannot play majority of the game that I just move from internal SSD on the external Samsung. Never had problems before. If you want to use it for gaming, I will not recommend it. I regret that I bought it and I recommend you to buy some other brands. Probably will perform better.

Greater than one weekI was a bit skeptical at first purchasing the Samsung t7. I gave it a try and what a difference. Highly satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking to speed up their game load times on Xbox. What used to take 30 seconds between levels now takes about 3 seconds.
