This is the third 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD that I have purchased. I used it to replace my laptop spinner drive. The performance is mind baffling. No more turning on the laptop and going to get a cup of coffee while I wait for it to boot up. It is literally less that a minute and the laptop is now booted and waiting for my login. This one was to replace the hard drive on my old i5 Sony Vaio 13 inch laptop that I use for traveling. Previous SSDs replaced my older Alienware 18 laptop 240 GB SSD and my sons Asus ROG gaming laptops 1TB Spinner drive. Samsung provides you with a link to download the software needed to clone your c drive. After the cloning is complete you can remove your old spinner drive and replace it with this one. You will be amazed at the performance enhancement. I think this improves the speed more than anything else I have updated on these machines. I use my old drives as back up emergency drives in case the SSD dies, but if you already have an external backup drive that you save your operating systems on, you can format your old drive and use it as extra space for your documents and downloads.

Love this drive. So glad to see them coming down in price. Right now I have 2 1TB SSDs and a little 120gb SSD for my Guild Wars game. Works great and with no HDs in the computer, its super quiet.

I have about 3 these in my PC instead of a HDD and include at least one in every single PC build I make. Very reliable storage, fast transfer speeds and great customer support from Samsung. Highly recommended for the money.

I moved my Lightroom catalog to the external SSD to make it more portable. Turns out with USB3 it is actually faster than my 5400rpm internal drive so it was a win-win for my use. Will be ordering another one to use to back up the first one.

Installing these hard drives are a great upgrade to your computer. This is the main drive now with the old hard drive as back up. Warning, dont let Geek Squad install a new operating system because many old application have to be reinstalled. Use the HD copy utilities to complete the task yourself and then have the copied OS SSD installed.

I bought this 1T solid state drive to install in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Installation was super easy. I just followed a YouTube video. And now my laptop works extremely fast! I hear I went over board on the storage but I have no complaints. It’s like I have a brand new Mac.

The drive works as expected. No issues at all. Great drive, I’ve bought 4 Samsung SSD drives now, and have used the first for about 3 years with zero problems.
