Greater than one weekI’ve used these Ceramic heat emitters for years and have never had to replace one because of failure. I have only replaced them to get higher wattage because I’ve increased the distance from emitter to animal. I feel very comfortable using them but I do follow the recommendations of using a wire cage fixture with porcelain socket and not a dome. I also have them plugged into thermostats to regulate the heat. They are 3-5/8 in diameter and stick out of the socket about 3. In my opinion, this is an excellent product for the reptile hobbyist.

> 3 daySeems good so far. Not sure if it is quite enough for a 75 gallon snake tank. Might be OK when I get the under tank heater going.

Greater than one weekI bought this ceramic heat emitter to keep my Beardy warm and toasty in his hot spot on his favorite log! Ive been using it for almost a year now with no problems! Just be sure to let it cool off for 15 minutes before handling, its just like a stove top!

> 3 dayThe heater performs as indicated. Im using it in my chicken coop. I wanted to mount it low in the coop so that the heat would have maximum effect. Unfortunately, chickens would brush against the heater singing their feathers. A wire cage would mitigate this problem.
