Repticare Infrared Ceramic Heat Emitter (150 watt)

The Zoo Med 150watt ceramic heat emitter--EMITTS HEAT! It is GREAT! If you are looking for a strong heat source, this is it! I enclosed my outdoor pond during the winter months, and this provides excellent heat for my pond critters.

This thing has been working quietly and issue-free for over 5 years now for me. No problems whatsoever with it. No signs of this thing stopping anytime soon. Probably has at least another 5 years of use in it.

Created a hedgehog cage set-up with the Zoo Med Digital Terrarium Thermometer, Zoo Med ReptiTemp 500R Remote Sensor Thermostat, Zoo Med ReptiCare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter 150 Watts, and Zilla 11596 8-1/2-Inch Premium Reflector Dome For Up to 150-Watt Bulbs. Works great and keeps the hedgehog toasty warm to prevent her from hibernating!

It says it lasts up to 5 years, but I purchased mine on April 23,2021, and today, 11/17/2021 it is broken. The contact spot literally melted my dome contact to it. We heard a crack, click, and saw a spark and then my son let me know it wasnt working. I turned it off, unscrewed it and it literally looked like someone was doing welding to the top of it. I dont know if the bulb was bad or what, but this definitely did not last even a year. I have no choice at the moment but to buy another one, but I plan on looking for a better replacement of a heat source for our beardie.

I place it in my house and it is so powerful that it just heat my whole house up and I got so dry that I cannot use it anymore. I return the item after using it for a day. I think you dont want to see your pets skin crack because of extreme dryness.

Perfect 24 hour heat source for my bearded dragon. I even bought the 100 watt one for my hedgehog and both are holding up nicely.

Arrived fast and is exactly what i needed

but it worked really well as an addition to my kale chip set up. I got this bulb and a small fan so I could make raw Kale Chips in my oven and not have to spend $$ on a fancy dehydrator.
