The box on the charger is incredibly hot when plugged in, like hot to the point it hurts to touch. Only charges my laptop to 64% so not sure what’s that’s about? I recently replaced my laptop battery as it’s a few years old and just time for a new battery. I used the correct battery and everything seemingly went smoothly until I got the warning that my ac adapter type and wattage couldn’t be determined and google results pointed me to the solution being just needing a new charger. I’m wondering if this isn’t actually the genuine charger for my Inspiron 13 because of the fact it seems to not work correctly with my laptop. I’m also not comfortable using the charger as I’m worried about a fire potential given that the box of the charger gets to a much higher temperature than I’ve experienced with any other charger. Be warned when buying this charger, seems like some people have no issues and some raise a lot of concerns.

Item is ok received in timely fashion

Bought this because my son is charging cable in a bad. Ive had no problems thus far work the first time I plugged it in.

When I connect it to the laptop the charging button lights up and then it turns off again and after a while the screen displays that it is not a valid charger, but if I connect it and right after the light turns off, I turn it at the connection point with the laptop, it will light back up and charge normally. Weird stuff.

When my laptop power cord gave it up I went to town to Best Buy and bought a new cord. It was $77 because it had about 6 different adapters so it would fit a multitude of computers. Not one of the adapters fit my computer. So, being desperate I went to Amazon, input my Brand of laptop and the series and up popped a cord for $29.00. AND it was guaranteed to be delivered in two days! And it fit perfectly! Value for the money is a 10, Cord length is a 10, but I havent used it long enough to be able to evaluate the durability.

Just an FYI in case anyone is thinking of a cheaper alternative. Not sure what models or range of models this applies to but many Dell laptops check if the charger is a genuine Dell product and if it isnt they will not charge. Despite the voltage and power output being correct other chargers do not work. This one works just fine with most of the laptops we have but if you are having charging issues with Dell machines the charger might be the problem.

My charger was broken by my toddler, and this is the perfect replacement. It charges my laptop efficiently and quickly without getting hot. It does exactly what I needed it to do, and the price was fair!
