> 3 dayJust an FYI in case anyone is thinking of a cheaper alternative. Not sure what models or range of models this applies to but many Dell laptops check if the charger is a genuine Dell product and if it isnt they will not charge. Despite the voltage and power output being correct other chargers do not work. This one works just fine with most of the laptops we have but if you are having charging issues with Dell machines the charger might be the problem.

> 3 dayNeeded a replacement cord as old one frayed right where wires attach at laptop plug port. New once came on time, with 2 sizes port plug, and still able to use part that plugs to wall (2 separate pieces that plug together). New one did come packed with port plug portion already bent/turned right where original piece frayed, so maybe manufacturer/shipper should think about packing with that part straightened. But otherwise recommend this product.

> 3 dayDoesnt charge anymore and was shorting out my laptop. It happened about a week after the return window for amazon closed. Tried to look up the warranty for the seller (Derrick INC) but it keeps going to the amazon policy and the amazon return policy window is closed. So what do I do? I am open to changing the Stars on this review from one star to more stars if I can get some help with a return/new power supply...So I was able to find a live chat option that proved to be advantageous. The person on the live chat was wonderful and accommodating. Long story short, I was refunded the amount I paid to my Amazon account and was told to throw away the faulty charger. Thank you!!

> 3 dayAt first glance, this is a dell charger. It says dell on the casing, and the sticker on the back also looks like a dell charger. Weve had this a year so I am in a position to comment. The sticker has started to bubble and peel off. Ok, not great, but does it work? So when we plug this into the Inspiron 14, we get a bootup message error that the laptop cannot determine the power supply. Not good... but wait, its charging... so thats fine right? I recently upgraded the hard drive and RAM in this machine for my daughter who was complaining about the speed of the laptop, and I kept getting this bootup error message, thinking this was all unrelated. But I googled it. Apparently, if the power supply isnt genuine, the laptop will let you use it to run and charge the battery, but the CPU get throttled and runs at half power to protect the system (probably to force you to buy a genuine Dell product). So I tested this. Plug the machine into the power supply, ran a copy job from SD card slot to the C: drive, I get 30-40% CPU usage at 0.87 Ghz, copy speed of 10-11 MB/s. Unplug the power cord and run off the battery instead, it jumps to 80% at double the Ghz (1.5-1.6 Ghz). The copy speed in MB/s also shoots up to 25MB/s once on battery. Battery profile is best battery life (not best performance) which is even more strange. I never suspected the power supply and some Dell logic was throttling the speed of the laptop. If you bought one of these chargers, try the test I just mentioned above (right click on the task bar on the bottom, and select task manager, then go to more details and performance.) Run a task on the machine that takes a minute or two, and see how it runs plugged in and then running off the battery..... NOT IMPRESSED. I just ordered a genuine charger from Dells website. It costs double but its worth it vs having a throttled laptop.
