Oh man…I was super upset that I had to pay $40+ for this fan because the last one I bought was $20. Needless to say it was an old fan. This one arrived one day faster than expected which was awesome. However, the best part is…it’s great! I didn’t use the instructions. I’ve put enough fans together. So I can’t tell you how those are. The remote is amazing! The wind is strong. I leave my ac tuned in at 76 throughout the day. The fan makes it feel like 70. Not to mention that I can leave it a good 5 feet from my bed and still feel it as if my old one was right beside my head. Update: My only complaint is that it seems noisy now. Idk if its because its been used now or what. It wasnt to bad at first. Now its loud enough to keep me from going to sleep at night on the highest setting.

I’ve really never thought much about fans. They work or they don’t. I bought this one for working out in the basement as the air can be a little stagnant down there. Well, now I won’t work out without this thing. I keep it about 8 feet from where I work out, and on the mid setting it provides just the perfect flow of air that keeps me cool and helps me breathe. And it’s not just a constant flow of air — it’s more like a buffering breeze that is much more pleasant and feels more natural. Not sure if it’s the dual blades or what, but it’s the best fan I’ve ever had. And the “wind zone” is pretty wide so even when I’m standing it covers my whole body. The fan itself is whisper quiet, and although I didn’t think I’d use it, the remote is pretty handy and works great. When I’m not working out I leave it on low oscillation to keep some circulation down there, and there’s less of a stagnant, musty basement smell now. The only non-positive thing I can think of is that it’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it’s not ugly either. It’s fine. It’s a fan. Anyway, never thought I’d love a fan, but I love this thing. Highly recommended.

This fan is worth the price. We bought 3 of these, my family loved mine so much I had to get more. Lots of good air and different amount of settings. Batteries don’t come included but it’s still worth the price.

I wanted to replace the floor fan we have that is just too loud even on a low setting. We have a Rowenta Turbo Silence in our bedroom but their floor fans are over $150. This Honeywell is only $50 and claimed to be quiet. And has a remote... Sounded like a deal. If it were not for the cheap price, it would be a 3 star product. PROS: 1. Cost. 2. Easy installation. It appears easy to take apart as well for periodic dust removal. CONS: 1. The base is very cheap. It started to crumble in my hand as I grabbed it to start the installation. See the pic. Its got two chunks missing and it want even set up. 2. It is NOT all that quiet. Compared to my old stand fan, its a bit better. (So I am keeping it). But its quiet mode should be described as annoying... High/Low or On/Off... It would not be appropriate for sleeping. The description is misleading. If you think youre getting a low-noise fan, keep looking.

Was looking for bedside fan that had lower wattage than Lasko box fan. Originally started with Genesis box fan. Not sure why it seemed so loud, considering I’ve often used Lasko box fan, but it did. Also, box fans are tricky without a holder/stand. I don’t know why they don’t still sell those stands like my grandmother used to have so that fan sits up high and position is adjustable. So….. as my bed isn’t high, this is good height, and has some adjustability. Not a huge amount of air, but enough for my needs. Very quiet. (From someone who actually likes a little air noise). I’m in an old apt bldg with no thermostat that’s always hot even though I no longer even have a radiator, and a/c doesn’t work so great when temp drops overnight, so this takes up some slack. Oh, to be back in a home with a thermostat. I also like having a remote….. though I’m out of available slots in my remote caddy. However, the assembly? Ugh. Think someone else also mentioned that if you need to return it, you may never get it back in that box. The assembly directions are vague at best, and the motor and base are quite heavy - at least for someone with some health issues like me. My hands are still sore and achy. You’re on your own figuring out how to attach the upper to the stand. So you’d better be good at this stuff already or borrow a crystal ball. Directions won’t help you much. Wish white was same price as black. Don’t need anything absorbing more heat.

This fan is easy to assemble. It took me ~10 minutes. The cap on the fan shaft had to be turned clockwise to remove it. The fan has 3 speeds and 3 types of air circulation (constant, variable quiet for sleeping, and variable strong). I measure the noise at 6 feet with a decibel meter. At the lowest constant speed, noise is ~44db. At the highest constant speed, it is ~58db, definitely noisy. Using variable quiet speeds for sleeping, noise fluctuates between 33db and 51db. Frankly, I do not like the variable cycling noise generated by this variable cycle at all. It stays at 33db for no more than a few seconds. I also have the Honeywell Quietset Pedestal fan and that one is much quieter. At the slowest speed, the noise is 32db. The next speed #2 level brings 35db. The next speed #3 is 38db. Speed #4 is 41db. Speed #5 is 45db. All measurements are looking straight at the fans. When the fan oscillates, noise will vary since when the electric motor is sideways to the microphone, noise will be 1-2db higher. In terms of airflow strength, the double fan is stronger, but for sleeping, I prefer the Quietset fan. Its slowest and quietest speed is good enough.

It is a good fan, but the assembly instructions were absolutely terrible -- Im surprised Honeywell would put its name on a product with such incoherent and confusing instructions.

We needed an additional fan stat in this heatwave. Last month we bought a Lasko fan and wanted to try a different brand to compare. Below are observations between this Honeywell and Lasko 18 pedestal fan: Speed/Power: Lasko has 5-blades, 4-speeds. Speed 1-2 are similar and bumps up at 3 but speed 4 is pretty similar to speed 3. Honeywell has 3 speeds and theres enough of a notable difference between 1 and 3. Honestly, you really only need 3 speeds. Both brands oscillate just fine. Given the larger diameter and 5-blades, Lasko fan provides what feels like stronger air flow. Noise: Perhaps due to the larger diameter of the Lasko blades, the Lasko fan is really loud. We have it set up in the bedroom as a surrogate white noise machine. It drowns out the outside noise when we have the window open. Not sure if its the LA paper walls, but the vibrations of the fan can be heard in the next room. In comparison, Honeywell is significantly quieter than the Lasko fan. Its not silent but I can have the Honeywell fan on, watch tv or have a Zoom call without interference. Well see after some use if the noise level changes. Assembly: Lasko fan is all plastic except for the pole and motor. Honeywell has a metal grill, cement base, and metal motor rod. Both fans have plastic blades. The metal cage on the Honeywell attached more securely than the Lasko plastic grill which snaps. I am still concerned the Lasko grill will pop off one day and were found decapitated in our sleep. Instructions for the Honeywell are not as clear as the Lasko fan manual. Both are simple enough to put together but a few steps in Honeywell instructions were not clearly described and we had to assemble based on logic. I hope the piece that didnt fit to anything was not essential... Lastly, the base footprint of the Honeywell is much smaller and sturdier. Extra features: I like the idea of the different air flow options on the Honeywell but we havent really used the other options except for constant flow. Honeywell also has up to an 8-hour timer. Lasko only offers a 1-2 hour timer which is probably just good for naps? Stay cool everyone!

I’ve liked this fan since we got it back in 9/2019. The speeds are great and, up until recently, it was pretty darned quiet on low, which is the speed it’s on most of the time. It’s now got a very noticeable and distracting hum. The blade noise drowns it own on high speed. I only use this fan during the summer, but it got more use this past summer than all of its use before combined. It’s still quite good and I won’t even consider replacing it yet, but if you’re looking for something silent on low, this ain’t it. Also, FWIW, I can only really sleep with fan/filter/AC fan noise. On low, this hum isn’t what I would consider pleasing enough to use it for sleeping purposes.
