Honeywell Double Blade 16 Pedestal Fan Black With Remote Control, Oscillation, Auto-Off & 3 Power Settings

> 24 hourIve been using this Honeywell double blade 16 pedestal fan for year daily. It replaced a Honeywell single blade pedestal fan than I have had for 10 years so far, and it was still working the same as the day I bought it. I was looking to get something that had more functions on the remote control, moved a bit more air, and was a tad quieter. What I wound up with was a big upgrade in going to this new double blade fan. It has a weighted base, so now the fan doesnt fall over when a gust of wind comes through the window. The base is also smaller in diameter, making it easier to place. The remote controls the swivel movement of the fan in additional to the speed, modes, timer, and power. The double blade fan moves noticeably more air than the single blade fan and is also quieter. On low this fan moves quite a bit of air and is very low noise. The remote also has really good range and wide angle, so you dont even have to point the remote directly at the fan. I have the fan in white, and they supply a bright red fan blade cap that is behind the Honewell badge on the fan guard. It looks so out of place and makes you wonder why that isnt white too. I am extremely happy with this fan, and it is even better than I was expecting.

> 24 hourSo, I bought this fan with no intention to use the remote, so I have no idea how the remote works, I havent even put batteries in it. This review is for the fan and not the remote. First things first this fan is NOT all metal, the exterior seems to be very sturdy with a lot of metal used on the outside, but the blades are plastic. Another thing is that the second set of blades are very, very small, might as well only have one set of blades, since I doubt the second pair even does much of anything. Other than that I enjoy this fan, its as described, seems sturdy, noise level is good, more quite than what Im used to, so if you like loud fans like I do this one isnt very loud. Though thats probably more of a pro than a con for most people. Moves a decent amount of air and Ill absolutely be using it all throughout the hot California summers.

> 24 hourGood Product. Honey Well obviously is a well known brand for their Fans and Heaters. I got the Black color, looks good and goes well with my bedroom interior. Just not too happy with the 3 Breeze Options. Not sad either, but just not how I expected it would be. The noice levels vary a lot when you use the Breeze options. Not too loud but not constant noise level with Breeze, which is the reason I don’t prefer using that option. But the 3 speed options serves my purpose. Remote control is great. Don’t go for any of those cheap brands available out there. You might think this is a bit more $$ than others but I would say it is worth the price when you compare the Quality and not just the cost.

> 24 hourTo start, the instructions for putting this thing together are pretty awful. You just need to feel your way through it. There arent too many parts, so its not that difficult when you finally have the gist of it. I will say the way the cage is assembled is super easy and convenient, as Ive assembled Lasko fans that needed screws to tighten the cage, and this Honeywell fan has a convenient set of thumb latches. That was nice. Once assembled and working, you realize the fan is only about 4 feet tall. Its really not very tall at all. I was a little put off by this at first - most whole-room pedestal fans are around 5 feet tall. Not this one, its definitely a little shorter. And the remote? It feels a little cheap - mechanical buttons and cheap plastic. But it works and controls everything about the fan. I wish the fan itself had a place to mount the remote when not in use - I know itll eventually get misplaced and disappear completely. However, all the negative out of the way, the operation of the fan itself is pretty amazing. Its quiet, its cool, and it blows air a great distance at its highest setting, and does a great job even at its lowest setting. Its got two variable wind settings that change the wind intensity every few seconds so it doesnt have to be a constant stream of air - never experienced a fan with that option before. All the important things a fan should do, this fan does it, and thats why I bought it - and hence why Im giving it 5 stars. Totally would recommend this fan to anyone. Ive only had it a couple of days, so I cannot yet comment upon longevity. But so far, Im super happy with this thing!

> 24 hourThe fan was very easy to put together and is easy to use. Make sure to line up the alignment pins on the blades when assembling it. It has good air flow. The noise level is a little high, but not too bad even at max speed. Its a fan... what do you expect? It has a nice weighted base that keeps the fan stable. The height isnt as adjustable as I expected (theres a difference of only about 8-10 from top to bottom heights), but that isnt a problem for me. The post screws down onto the base so that you dont have to worry about the base coming off when moving it and theres a screw on the top part that holds it in place to the post. However, that screw on the top part isnt great and probably wont last being tightened many times. But once set up, you should never need to tighten it or loosen it, so that shouldnt be a problem. The fan screen is metal and the clips holding the front to the back are metal, but seem to be flimsy, so be careful using them. If they end up breaking off at some point, zip ties work wonders for fan screens... just cut off the excess lengths after tying them on. I havent used the remote as I dont have the batteries to fit it and I dont have any real use for a remote anyhow. I either have the fan on or off and that can easily be changed by pressing the button on the fan without having to track down a remote. I wanted to clear up a few things I saw in other reviews prior to buying this. Hopefully this will help anyone who had those issues. * If you are missing the small fan blade and remote, check ALL the cardboard as they are both in the same small piece of cardboard that can easily be missed. * The nut that holds the blades on does not unscrew counter-clockwise like youd expect. Turn it to the right (clockwise) as the directions indicate and it will unscrew easily. This opposite threading prevents it from coming unscrewed as the blade spins. * If your fan is speeding up and slowing down, this is one of the settings. You can disable that easily. If you press the ... button, you cycle between three fan settings. One will stay on at full speed, one will cycle fast and slow. I havent tested the third, but its probably something between those two options. This setting changes the lighted up icons on the right side. For constant full speed, you should have it set to the bottom icon on the right side. * If you arent getting a lot of air flow, change the fan speed by pressing the power button. This changes the lighted up icons on the left side. The top icon is max speed. Note that it isnt going to be as good as a box fan or commercial fan, but its still good. I currently have mine sitting about 13 feet away from me and its hitting me very well. It could be better, but I could also move the fan closer if I really wanted to.

> 24 hourI was a bit intimidated by putting it together but the directions are clear. The materials are sturdy and strong. The fan is very large, bigger than my old one. I like the black and black finish. The remote is a bonus, batteries 2 AAA arent included. The fan also has a double 2-blade system. Ive never seen this before. When putting it together, there is a 2nd much smaller blade to attach in front of the much larger blade. It took me time to figure out what the purpose of it was. If you place your hand in front of the front you feel air flow coming forward. If you place you hand in the rear of the fan you will also feel a forward air flow. In other words, air flows from both ends. The fan is quiet, love the oscillation setting, its big, its strong, its sturdy, has a nice remote, its black, it has a nighttime setting or basically a timer setting, it has strong airflow. Great purchase, satisfied with this, worth the extra money for me than a cheap standard piece of junk. Thats not what your buying here. Hope it helps.

> 24 hourI just unboxed and easily assembled my new fan. First impression was how heavy and stable this fan was. The base was vinyl lined metal and the stand and fan cage also metal. I’ve only been running it for a half hour but the double bladed fan is quiet and able to move a considerable volume of air. For this reasonable price, I was very pleased and would say that this fan is one of my more successful purchases.

> 24 hourWe got this fan as a replacement and while its good in its own right (so far), it didnt work for our immediate need. We have two of our pedestal fans connected to smartplugs for voice/routine control and that works great when the fans can remember their settings during power-off/power-on, but this one does not. Every time we want this fan on we need to manually turn it on and move the speed up to Hi. Fortunately we use three pedestal fans in total so we mitigated the problem by moving fans around so our two mechanical-control fans are on the smartplugs. That aside, this fans seems to be of good quality for our simple needs. Theres good difference between the speeds, sound is where we like it (for some nighttime white noise), and its of solid construction. I cant comment on the remote control since I havent even put batteries in it. No interest there as wed end up losing the remote anyway. I wouldnt have even gotten a remote controlled fan except it was the correct price point with good ratings.
