I used this for my butcher block counter tops. The wood soaked the oil right in and did not leave it greasy at all. Made my counter tops look new again!

Ive used this for live edge charcuterie boards I cut, finish & sell. After lots of sanding I wipe a few coats of this on. I allow it to soak in between coats & add until it doesnt soak in anymore. Its time consuming if you factor dry time. The bottle doesnt last long for raw boards. I also use when my personal charcuterie board gets dry after or between uses. I use this in combo with the walrus wax. It doesnt leave a shiny or greasy residue once it soaks. Otherwise I use a combo of food grade/safe mineral oil & local beeswax melted & wiped on which is cheaper when we work on a larger quantity of boards.

It takes overnight to soak in, but does an amazing job. I literally coated everything even my BBQ wooden handles

I was looking for a safe, easy way to preserve and protect my wooden cutting board. This product was simple to use, and my board looked great afterward. I wish I would have bought it sooner!

Had an old maple cutting board that was made more than 45 years ago and had never seen any oil since leaving the the junior high school woodshop class. It was complete dry and held no color at all. A couple applications of Walrus Oil (allowing it soak in good) and the cutting board is beautiful - Just like new again! Thanks Walrus Oil for a great product! *It is also good for wooden kitchen utensils (spoon, spatula, etc.) and quickly brings them back to life as well.

I bought this for the good reviews and the price. Its really nothing special but food grade mineral oil, coconut oil, etc. But 8 ozs. was not enough for my 16x20 inch new birch cutting board. The results were OK, no real complaints. But I still need to do a second coating to get the board properly oiled to satisfy me. One thing Im glad I learned - contrary to the directions to apply a coating then wipe off excess in 12-24 hours. Actually, the best thing to do for a new or clean but very dry cutting board is to apply a good coat or layer of oil with a small cheap 2-inch paint brush (Walmart for $1.00). But then put paper towels down over the wet board. The reason for this is that it helps the oil to penetrate better. It took me a bit over 3 days to get both sides of this birch board & most retail store boards are yellow birch. Birch is a wood with dense pores and if the board is new or clean but very dry it will take longer for the board to get properly saturated with the oil to truly protect it. Even after I rubbed the excess from the paper towels into the wood when removing them, it still took another day to dry enough for use. Last, although not in the instructions, if you have a used board that needs to be oiled, DO NOT use hot water & soap to clean it off first before oiling it. Use COLD WATER & soap ONLY to clean wood boards. Using hot water actually opens the pores and allows stains to penetrate into the wood. Hot water and soap will also remove the oil from the wood, whereas cold water & mild soap will not. Id stay away from dish soap since most have ingredients designed to break down oily residue from pots and pans. When you clean your board off use only cold water & mild soap. Hope this help you all.

I really like this board oil. It doesn’t have a Sam and leaves my board looking nice and polished. I plan to do my wooden utensils next.
