Blood Lust (The Sentinels Book 3)

> 3 dayThe mysterious Myst who donned gloves and set fourth the ancient texts and all they revealed to a Sentinel who had to know any information the historian could come by. And then there was Bad. A relentless, dark soul by outside appearance. Then we get a glimpse of a little girl who sneaks something yummy out of an obviously carefully stocked snack drawer. How could you not want to know more as mere glimpses are revealed of these two worlds. How could we ever have puzzled out that these two would come together as they have based on only the briefest of sensual, unforgettable encounters that had been so briefly mentioned. What a wonderful story. I look forward to the next one! This is a series I will certainly re-read.

Greater than one weekBlood Lust by Alexandra Ivy is the 3rd novel in the Sentinel series. This book takes place shortly after the previous book, Blood Assassin, ended and features Bas, the father who, we discovered in Blood Assassin, would stop at nothing to get his daughter Molly back, and Molly’s mysterious and allusive mother Myst. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a book with Bas as the hero. I didn’t agree with all of his methods in the previous book but I understood his reasoning. I have to say that while I didn’t really like him in Blood Assassin, I quite liked him in this book. He was no long the semi bad guy but a fully flushed character with substance and emotions. I also really liked Myst and found her story to be both interesting and heartbreaking. Blood Lust is a great addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is entertaining, fast paced, sexy and moving. Bas and Myst suited each other perfectly and I loved seeing them become the couple they were always meant to be. Blood Lust is about Myst’s search for a weapon, one that could be used against the high bloods. Hampering her search is the Brotherhood’s relentless pursuit of her. But Bas isn’t about to let Myst out of his sight again and joins her as they work together to find the weapon and elude the Brotherhood. My only disappointment in Blood Lust was that the mystery seemed rather obvious. But it didn’t detract from the overall story and I look forward to the next book in the series. I would recommend Blood Lust to fans of the Sentinel series. *ARC (Advanced Review Copy) received from the publisher, Kensington Books, via NetGalley.

> 3 dayBook three to Alexandra Ivys Sentinel series Blood Lust follows Bas and his adorable daughter Molly (whom we meet in the last book). Waiting a year for each book is worth the wait, this is one of those series I keep on eye out for, I stalk Netgalley and Facebook for any information the newest book. Bas was just dark and mysterious enough in Blood Assassin to make my anticipation for this book pretty intense. It was worth it. Bas was raised an assassin, trained not like the others but more lethal than his sentinel counterparts. Bas had a difference of opinion with The Mage, Lana, a former friend and lover and was cast out of the high blood society. Bas is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants and he succeeds in business but five years ago he met an irresistible young woman had one glorious night with her; he was willing to give her everything only to find her missing the next morning. Nine months later there is a baby girl on his doorstep. Bas assumed the worst about Myst and never expects to see her again. Unbeknownst to Bas during Mollys kidnapping she was so scared she reached out to her mother and found her since then they have been in telepathic contact. Myst knowing her daughter needs her returns but trouble follows Myst where ever she goes that is why she stayed gone for so long. Myst finally confides the truth to Bas of why she disappeared and why she left Molly behind. Bas does the only thing he can to keep Myst and Molly safe he calls in Lana and the Sentinels for help. Overall, this was a great read. I love Bas and Myst together they compliment each other well and Molly is such an adorable.

> 3 dayI really loved the world of The Sentinels and how Alexandra Iva has built up the characters and their history. But the characters themselves, I just had a hard time engaging with.

> 3 dayThis is an extremely sexy and action packed romance. Bas and Mysts story is wonderful, and there are other strong sparks in the air from noteworthy sub-characters like the Mave and the Tagos, worthy of their own book (hint-hint). I love it! I did receive an ebook from NetGalley and this books publisher for my review. No problem, as I admire Ms. Ivy, and her romances are fantastic!

13-11-2024This was great! Blood Lust was interesting till the very end! I havent read the previous books, except for book 2.5, which I loved, so Im am definitely looking forward to reading the previous books as well as any future books in this series; especially what happens with Wolfe and Lana, who we get some glimpses of in Blood Lust; I love forbidden romances, and Im also looking forward to other books by Ivy. In Blood Lust, Bas daughter has recently been kidnapped, but luckily she has been saved unharmed. The kidnapping has brought her mother, Myst, back into their lives, but Bas isnt very trusting of Myst because after having one night with Myst, she disappeared, only to return 9 months later to leave their daughter, Molly, with Bas, and disappear again. Myst has her reason for leaving her daughter, but Bas doesnt know them, so his opinion of her isnt exactly pleasant. Im so glad the issue of why Myst left is solved rather quickly because I hate when people dont talk with each other, and arent honest about their feelings, so I was glad that Bas and Myst didnt play games with each other. Myst has had a vision that she will be responsible for creating a weapon that will kill her people, and she doesnt want the enemies of her people to get their hands on it, so she has been on the run. After hearing about Mysts problems, Bas decides he needs to help her out, so he and some his friends, are trying to figure out more about Mysts vision; what the weapon is, and how can they stop it. Bas is great, and I liked Myst too, and they have a sweet connection. The romance was adorable, and the intimate scenes have the right amount of steam. I enjoyed reading about Bas and Mysts connection growing as they learn more about each other. The action scenes were great too, and I love Ivys world building. I love reading books about warriors finding love, so Blood Lust was a terrific read for me, and Ivy does a really great job of drawing the reader into the story. I couldnt stop reading! Thats always a good sign!

Greater than one weekNUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 Bas!!! Finally!!! I was so happy to get a review copy of Blood Lust. I have been wanting to read Bas’ story for a while now. He is such a good daddy to Molly! And how can you not love a badass assassin who is like putty with his little girl. You can’t!! I was also happy to learn more about how Bas met Molly’s mom and what happened between them. I really enjoyed this story. The tension between Bas & Myst is fun. They are so good together. And Molly... oh sweet little Molly!!! I just want to hug her. She is one tough little girl. I will say that you will want to start this series from the beginning so that you can get a better understand of Bas and he past. I can’t wait to see what is next for us in this series. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley & Kensington Books, Zebra in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

> 3 dayThe chemistry between Bas and Myst are off the charts, always have been. It is the years of hurt that they have to overcome. Can they face the newest threat to their family together? Or will it tear them apart forever? The best thing about this series is the side characters- Lana, Wolfe, Kaede. Each of them played an important role in the story. They each played an important role in the last book as well. When oh when will they get their own story? This series has the potential to be endless, as so far each new book is about another couple with in the Valhalla realm. Blood Lust was a thrilling ride from the first page to the last. I would recommend starting with the first book in the series, and reading the novellas that have been published. It will give you a better foundation for the world that the high-bloods and Sentinels live in. For Full Review: [...]
