Book three to Alexandra Ivys Sentinel series Blood Lust follows Bas and his adorable daughter Molly (whom we meet in the last book). Waiting a year for each book is worth the wait, this is one of those series I keep on eye out for, I stalk Netgalley and Facebook for any information the newest book. Bas was just dark and mysterious enough in Blood Assassin to make my anticipation for this book pretty intense. It was worth it. Bas was raised an assassin, trained not like the others but more lethal than his sentinel counterparts. Bas had a difference of opinion with The Mage, Lana, a former friend and lover and was cast out of the high blood society. Bas is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants and he succeeds in business but five years ago he met an irresistible young woman had one glorious night with her; he was willing to give her everything only to find her missing the next morning. Nine months later there is a baby girl on his doorstep. Bas assumed the worst about Myst and never expects to see her again. Unbeknownst to Bas during Mollys kidnapping she was so scared she reached out to her mother and found her since then they have been in telepathic contact. Myst knowing her daughter needs her returns but trouble follows Myst where ever she goes that is why she stayed gone for so long. Myst finally confides the truth to Bas of why she disappeared and why she left Molly behind. Bas does the only thing he can to keep Myst and Molly safe he calls in Lana and the Sentinels for help. Overall, this was a great read. I love Bas and Myst together they compliment each other well and Molly is such an adorable.

I received this book as an ARC from Net galley for my honest review! I loved everything about this book from the cover, to the author and then the awesome main characters Bas and Myst! Although throughout this series Bas and not been what one would consider the good guy he has to put his bad boy ways behind him when his daughters life is at risk. With so many enemies surrounding him Bas does not know who to trust but is willing to do anything to protect his daughter even if it means he has to deal with her mother...Myst. Myst has been on the run for reasons that she could never explain to Bas. Unfortunately Myst learns the hard way that she can no longer hide and must tell Bas everything if they hope to keep their daughter safe. What I loved about this book was the drama of it all. When Bas realizes just what is going on with Myst he became an even greater man, thinking less about himself and his daughter but more about his family. Overall this book was great and worth every moment I spent waiting for it to come out. Great job Alexander Ivy and please be kind and give the readers more ASAP!

The story Bas is the de facto leader of a sect of High-Bloods that operate outside of Valhalla (the protected warded stronghold run by the Mave and the Tagos). Bas is a High-Blood witch Sentinel Assassin, fiercely protective of his family. Five years ago he had a one night encounter with an echanting clairvoyant, nine months later a baby was left in his room. Molly is just as enchanting and captivating as her mother. A now five year old Molly suddenly starts talking about her mother being on the way .... lo and behold Myst enters.... Myst is an extremely rare foreseer, she has been trying to outrun her prophecy all her life.. While the story lines are focused on the main focus, there is also a rebuilding of their relationship and original backgrounds. Thoughts Although this is a completely unique series, plots, characters & her books always seem familiar, in the best way possible. I love Bas energy and his relationship with Myst sweet. he is a caveman shes a bit timid, but their complex personalities explain their behaviors. this is the third in the series, I always welcome another look into this unique series.

    Greater than one week

I normally enjoy her books however this one was quite draggy & I felt the stereo typical testosterone violent male & weak damsel in distress female characters were boring. Hope the next ones better.

As I was going thru my Kindle app and my TBR list, I wondered if I had read this book. I am a huge Alexandra Ivy fan and just could not fathom that I missed this one. After starting the book this weekend I realized that I had indeed read it and had not post the review as I had not read book 2, Blood Assassin and I have an attack if I dont read them in order. So to sum up I did not read book 2 but read book 3 and heres my review. Go figure. Lol... This is the story of Bas and Myst and as you all probably know by now, they had a child named Molly after a one night stand. Myst drops off Molly to Bas, disappears and reappears after 5 years. Right after Molly is returned from being kidnapped? Hmmmm suspicious? Maybe. Myst explains her disappearance and Bas, strong, totally lovable and will do anything to keep Myst here with him now and not lose her, decides that they will investigate the outcome of her fate and this power that spells Armageddon. In the end we are able to see the distrust that Bas had for Myst fall away and the love that they have for each other and Molly bloom. Another great job by the famous Ms. Ivy. Loved it so much! I cant believe I forgot to post this review...Lol 4.5 stars!!!!

Blood Lust is the third book in The Sentinels and I think this series is actually getting better as it goes along. This book centers around Bas and Myst. Bas was introduced in the second book and was actually one of the villains. I actually enjoy a complex villain and his deep love for his daughter made him a lot more than a card board villain so I was curious to see where this book would go and I hoped that Bas would remain a grey character and not be too thoroughly redeemed. Myst and Bas had a one night stand and then she disappeared only to drop off a baby to Bas nine months later. Bas raised his daughter and although he searched for Myst after a while he began to think of her as selfish. Myst stayed in telepathic contact with her daughter and had her own reasons for leaving Molly with Bas. This book takes place shortly after the second book when Bas has rescued his daughter from the kidnappers. Myst has suddenly shown up to spend time with her daughter and while Bas and Myst are still attracted to each other, Bas doesnt want Myst in his or Mollys life. Bas soon finds out that Myst has been on the run from the brotherhood (A group of humans who want to destroy the high bloods) and desperately trying to stop a vision of the future that has her creating a weapon that will destroy the high bloods. We are taken on an adventure with Bas and Myst to stop the vision and the brotherhood. I enjoyed both Bas and Myst. Bas never apologized for what he was and what he was willing to do to keep his daughter safe. He isnt a good guy and yet he isnt a bad guy either but somewhere in the middle and I enjoy the complexity of those characters. Myst has had a tough life and doesnt trust easily. She is strong and yet at the same time doesnt have the skills/ability to take on the brotherhood alone. Neither character is shown as indestructible (which was great) and yet both are willing to do whatever it takes. I enjoyed the romance between the two although it happened a bit too instantly for my tastes and I wold have liked it to grow at a slower pace. The plot was interesting and although it was fairly obvious what the weapon was going to be by the half way point I still enjoyed it. I also loved the scenes between Wolf and Lana and cant wait for their book! Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for gifting me this book in return for an honest review
