> 24 hour* I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. Okay, so if you’ve been keeping up with The Sentinals series then you know that Bas is a high blood who doesn’t follow the rules; he makes them. His onetime hookup with a woman known as Myst resulted in a daughter named Molly that Bas had to raise alone after Myst dropped her on his doorstep as an infant. Now Myst has returned to spend time with their daughter and hopefully avoid the vision she’s been haunted by, a vision that says she will create a weapon that will destroy the world. Okay, so Bas was the leader of a shadow society of high bloods who don’t want to follow the rules that were created to keep them and the humans safe. That has disaster written all over it right? Well yeah, almost from the start Blood Lust dropped me into total chaos with Bas and Myst reuniting and reluctantly calling a truce to their hostilities in order to deal with a bigger problem and in the process they get their hands all over each other again, cause you know, one time wasn’t enough for these two. I loved the tension between these two so much because it was so well done. There was tons of unfinished business between them, yet they had to prioritize their needs against their daughter’s. Bas wasn’t used to having someone like Myst stand up to him because, hello High Blood Assassin, but it was entertaining to watch them clash. Bas needed to be put in his place because as sexy as this guy was, he was arrogant and dismissive of anyone that wasn’t him or his daughter. Of course part of Bas’ charm was his dry sense of humor that would pop up at unusual times. Myst didn’t exactly lack in the humor department either. She was more than capable of matching Bas’ sarcasm with a few snarky responses that sometimes caught him off guard. I’m so glad that Alexandra Ivy paired the very alpha Bas with the iron willed Myst because he would have stomped all over a lesser female. Where Bas was the physical strength, Myst was the intellectual strength and I loved that balance between them. That’s not to say Myst was a slouch at fighting because she wasn’t, she just had different methods. She was definitely one of those characters who made the best out of a bad situation but she’s been a loner for most of her life so connecting with others was new to her and I loved watching her learn that there were people she could count on. There’s always something going on in an Ivy book and Blood Lust was no exception. The main story is of course Bas and Myst’s journey to find out how to stop her vision from coming true but there’s also the accompanying story (and budding… something) of Lana, otherwise known as the Mave, aka the leader of the high bloods and Wolfe, the leader of the Sentinals. He seems to be the only one not intimidated by her power and there’s an attraction between them for sure. Really though, I loved how Bas went from despicable in the previous book, to reluctant and totally likable hero in this one. Ivy took his one positive quality which was his love for his daughter and used it as a stepping stone towards redeeming this dangerous, selfish, and cold character and I loved every step of the way. Bas and Myst weren’t the easiest couple but they are one of the most fun. The push and pull between them and the fun of watching them find their feet while co-parenting their daughter was worth the wait.

> 24 hourRating: 3.5 to 4 stars After book 2, I was really looking forward to reading more about Bas, our villain sort of from book 2, or at least not on the good side of Valhalla. His 4yo daughter was being held hostage, in book 2. In book 2, he just has gotten her back when the mysterious baby mama, Myst, pops back into their life. She has kept in psychic contact with her daughter all along, but Bas only knows she left and believes her to be a selfish person who didnt want their child. This doesnt actually turn out to be the case. Myst left because she believes her future puts high-bloods at risk via a prophecy. She gave her daughter to Bas to protect her. This prophecy is coming closer fast, and Myst and Bas join up to see if they change the future essentially. With that kind of plot, I expected to be on the edge of my seat but just wasnt. In fact, some of just dragged on and on to me, and I was completely bored. Not even tensions Wolfe and our lovely Mave of Valhalla could pull me out of that boredom. Myst and Bas? They were cute, but I kind of expected more from him after book 2. So, my final verdict is 3.5 to 4 stars. The story arc moves forward, they work as a couple, but it was a bit bland. I still look forward to whoever is next and really enjoy the series. My thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

> 24 hourWhat can I say about Blood Lust? This book is sexy. It is action packed. It will keep you guessing and dying to know what will happen next!! Now, if you know me, then you know that I am always and I mean always on the look out for an exciting paranormal romance. This is my first book by this author and after reading Blood Lust, I can not wait to read more!! Blood Lust pulls you in from the very first page. This story is well written and entertaining. From the moment you are introduced to Bas and Myst, you are dying to know more. These two share a history. One that can not be forgotten and the pain from their mistakes, unforgiven. However, things are not always what they seem. Myst has her reasons for doing what she did. A vision that she has, has the power to change the course of her life forever….. Blood Lust gave me everything I was looking for in a great paranormal read. I loved the characters and found myself really intrigued by them. I loved the chemistry between Bas and Myst. Yes, Myst made some mistakes and kept secrets, but she had her reasons for doing it and her feelings for Bas never faded. I just couldn’t wait to see what would happen between these two; if they would be able to find their way back to one another. Overall, I really enjoyed Blood Lust. It was a quick and easy read for me. It hit all my marks and had me begging for more. As I previously stated, this was my first book by this author and after reading this, I can not wait to read more of her books in the future.

> 24 hourThe mysterious Myst who donned gloves and set fourth the ancient texts and all they revealed to a Sentinel who had to know any information the historian could come by. And then there was Bad. A relentless, dark soul by outside appearance. Then we get a glimpse of a little girl who sneaks something yummy out of an obviously carefully stocked snack drawer. How could you not want to know more as mere glimpses are revealed of these two worlds. How could we ever have puzzled out that these two would come together as they have based on only the briefest of sensual, unforgettable encounters that had been so briefly mentioned. What a wonderful story. I look forward to the next one! This is a series I will certainly re-read.

> 24 hourBas had a penthouse in a luxury Kansas City hotel when his highly profited business had been all messed up. He had been the leader of a renegade band of mercenary high bloods who defied the laws of Valhalla to sell their talents. Then a former employee kidnapped Bas’s precious daughter Molly and used her as leverage to try and gain control over a volatile high blood who could have caused the end of the world. Now Bas just wanted to find a place to safely raise Molly. Molly needed love and peace and stability. Molly had been a witch’s captive but she barely seemed to remember. Myst was Molly’s mom and had left her on Bas’s bed when she was an infant and left. Molly was the product of a one night stand but Bas didn’t want Molly to know that. Myst had been talking to Molly in her mind when she had been captured and since she was home. Then Myst showed up and got passed Bas’s security and had come to see Molly and keep her word to the child. Myst was a telepath and was psychically connected to Molly. Myst had spent the last four years in a Russian monastery. But once seeing Bas again she felt hot desire. Bas had been born with the magic of a witch and the strength of a Sentinel. Myst had went to Bas originally for a job saying she was clairvoyant but when got pregnant for she received a second talent- telepathy. Bas found he was still very attracted to Myst and wasn’t happy about it. The monks who had turned Bas into a perfect killer had taught bas emotions were enemies. Myst had been seeing visions of the Sentinels being destroyed since she was a child. Her parents had sold her to the Brotherhood- who were enemies of the Sentinels. The Brotherhood found out Myst could build a weapon that could destroy the Sentinels. Myst had a difficult childhood and eventually escaped the Brotherhood and had been on the run since. As much as Bas doesn’t want to admit it he and Myst still had hot chemistry was still there. But most of all Bas didn’t want Molly to be hurt by Myst. Bas found out Myst had not wanted to leave Molly but had to protect her. Now Bas was determined to keep Myst as well as Molly Safe. I really enjoyed this and the story had a good plot. Molly is so sweet and loving she really adds to this story and i adored her./ I want a Molly ! i loved how Myst would do and did anything for her daughter even give her up to her father so Molly could be safe including keeping her promise to her and showing at at Bas’s home to see Molly. I liked how protective Bas was and alpha in pretty much all he did. So yeah did love the characters. I liked the ins and outs of this story a lit also. If I could I would rate this a 4.5 or 4.7 but since I can’t a four will have to do. Bas was kinda a good bad guy. I recommend this book.

Dark Faerie Tales
> 24 hourReview courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales Quick & Dirty: A dangerous prophecy and assassin with his family in danger. Opening Sentence: It has been over a century since the high-bloods revealed themselves to the norms. The Review: Bas is still reeling from the kidnapping of his daughter Molly. Her mother, Myst, dropped her off right after her birth and disappeared. But now that Molly is home safe she tells Bas that Mommy is coming for a visit. Bas is beyond shocked when Myst strolls right into his office. He not as shocked to find that he reacts to her exactly the same way as when he first met her. This time he is determined to hate, but keeps it in check because Molly is so excited. After a few a days Bas finally gets Myst to reveal her story, not all of it, but why she dropped Molly off and why she is on the run. The Brotherhood is hunting her because she had a prophecy that she would create a dangerous weapon that would kill high-bloods. Bas contacts the Meave to make arrangements for Molly’s safety and to meet with Boggs in order to find out more about Myst’s prophecy. The meeting goes very wrong and Bas is knocked unconscious and Myst is taken by the Brotherhood. Soon Bas is racing against time to not only stop The Brotherhood, but rescue Myst as well. Will he be able to keep Myst and Molly safe? Will he finally have the love he has been waiting for? I give kudos to this series because I haven’t read the first two books and I was able to read this one and not feel confused at all. I am sure some of the characters, events, and story tie in with the first two, so I do recommend you start at the beginning. I loved Myst, I don’t know that I would have been strong enough to make the choices she did, but I always enjoy seeing a character that loves their child and is willing to make sacrifices for them. Bas is total bad boy, but his love for Myst and Molly was just so nice to see. I couldn’t stop reading the story. It was fast paced and action packed. I don’t see another book listed, but that can always change. For now there are two more before this as well as two novellas.

> 24 hourBlood Lust is the third book in The Sentinels and I think this series is actually getting better as it goes along. This book centers around Bas and Myst. Bas was introduced in the second book and was actually one of the villains. I actually enjoy a complex villain and his deep love for his daughter made him a lot more than a card board villain so I was curious to see where this book would go and I hoped that Bas would remain a grey character and not be too thoroughly redeemed. Myst and Bas had a one night stand and then she disappeared only to drop off a baby to Bas nine months later. Bas raised his daughter and although he searched for Myst after a while he began to think of her as selfish. Myst stayed in telepathic contact with her daughter and had her own reasons for leaving Molly with Bas. This book takes place shortly after the second book when Bas has rescued his daughter from the kidnappers. Myst has suddenly shown up to spend time with her daughter and while Bas and Myst are still attracted to each other, Bas doesnt want Myst in his or Mollys life. Bas soon finds out that Myst has been on the run from the brotherhood (A group of humans who want to destroy the high bloods) and desperately trying to stop a vision of the future that has her creating a weapon that will destroy the high bloods. We are taken on an adventure with Bas and Myst to stop the vision and the brotherhood. I enjoyed both Bas and Myst. Bas never apologized for what he was and what he was willing to do to keep his daughter safe. He isnt a good guy and yet he isnt a bad guy either but somewhere in the middle and I enjoy the complexity of those characters. Myst has had a tough life and doesnt trust easily. She is strong and yet at the same time doesnt have the skills/ability to take on the brotherhood alone. Neither character is shown as indestructible (which was great) and yet both are willing to do whatever it takes. I enjoyed the romance between the two although it happened a bit too instantly for my tastes and I wold have liked it to grow at a slower pace. The plot was interesting and although it was fairly obvious what the weapon was going to be by the half way point I still enjoyed it. I also loved the scenes between Wolf and Lana and cant wait for their book! Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for gifting me this book in return for an honest review
