> 24 hourRating: 3.5 to 4 stars After book 2, I was really looking forward to reading more about Bas, our villain sort of from book 2, or at least not on the good side of Valhalla. His 4yo daughter was being held hostage, in book 2. In book 2, he just has gotten her back when the mysterious baby mama, Myst, pops back into their life. She has kept in psychic contact with her daughter all along, but Bas only knows she left and believes her to be a selfish person who didnt want their child. This doesnt actually turn out to be the case. Myst left because she believes her future puts high-bloods at risk via a prophecy. She gave her daughter to Bas to protect her. This prophecy is coming closer fast, and Myst and Bas join up to see if they change the future essentially. With that kind of plot, I expected to be on the edge of my seat but just wasnt. In fact, some of just dragged on and on to me, and I was completely bored. Not even tensions Wolfe and our lovely Mave of Valhalla could pull me out of that boredom. Myst and Bas? They were cute, but I kind of expected more from him after book 2. So, my final verdict is 3.5 to 4 stars. The story arc moves forward, they work as a couple, but it was a bit bland. I still look forward to whoever is next and really enjoy the series. My thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

> 24 hourI always look forward to Ms. Ivys books because she is a master at weaving details, hidden clues, mystery and smoking hot romance into a plot line that reels a reader in completely and theres always something new and interesting in each of them. BLOOD LUST certainly has all that - great storytelling, hot romance and lots of heart. Sentinel assassin, Bas has been declared a wanted man by Valhalla but hes going to need the help of the powers that be to take on their common enemy, the Brotherhood and ensure the safety of his daughter and her mother, the woman who has consumed him for the last five years. Myst only hoped to get job when she came to Bas but she got more than she planned for and to save her daughters life, she brought her to her father and disappeared. Haunted all her life by the Brotherhood to be used as a tool for world dominion, Myst has been searching for a way out and with no solution in sight, she has decided on a very permanent solution, but first she has to say her goodbyes to her loved ones. But Bas is not letting her go without a fight, even if it means a temporary alliance with his enemies. I certainly wasnt a fan of Bas from the previous book but he won me over finally and made me see him as more than just a soulless mercenary. He still doesnt play by the rules, is still out for number one, but his devotion to his daughter is undeniable. His feelings for Myst have made her his second weakness but hell fight to the death to protect both of them. What Myst lacks physically she makes up for with her inner strength and determination and even Bas has his work cut out for him trying to keep her in line. BLOOD LUST certainly is not as action-packed as the previous installments in the series but it more than makes up for that with the heartwarming feelings induced by the interactions between Bas, Myst and the enchanting Molly. I loved untangling the threads of the mystery and have to give Ms. Ivy kudos for making that a unique and unexpected twist to the whole story. In addition, we are teased endlessly with the air-sucking chemistry between the Mave and her Tagos and I cant wait for their story. As usual, while each book stands alone Ill recommend reading the series in order so as to keep track of the ongoing story arc. With all the deliciousness the series has to offer, why not? Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

> 24 hourI normally enjoy her books however this one was quite draggy & I felt the stereo typical testosterone violent male & weak damsel in distress female characters were boring. Hope the next ones better.

> 24 hour3.5 stars! This is an engrossing tale that moved along at a very quick pace, a very easy to read book! It seems much shorter than it is. The characters are likable, I just wish we had more Bas, Myst and Molly. While this can be read as a standalone, I suggest starting at the beginning. I think I would have gotten more out of it had I been up to date with the series. After finishing, I am still not exactly sure what a High Blood actually is, other than it can be anything from a psychic to a witch. The plot was not as predictable as I thought it was as I was reading, or I at least half way predicted it. All in all, an enjoyable read, I just recommend you start at the beginning. > 24 hour* I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. Okay, so if you’ve been keeping up with The Sentinals series then you know that Bas is a high blood who doesn’t follow the rules; he makes them. His onetime hookup with a woman known as Myst resulted in a daughter named Molly that Bas had to raise alone after Myst dropped her on his doorstep as an infant. Now Myst has returned to spend time with their daughter and hopefully avoid the vision she’s been haunted by, a vision that says she will create a weapon that will destroy the world. Okay, so Bas was the leader of a shadow society of high bloods who don’t want to follow the rules that were created to keep them and the humans safe. That has disaster written all over it right? Well yeah, almost from the start Blood Lust dropped me into total chaos with Bas and Myst reuniting and reluctantly calling a truce to their hostilities in order to deal with a bigger problem and in the process they get their hands all over each other again, cause you know, one time wasn’t enough for these two. I loved the tension between these two so much because it was so well done. There was tons of unfinished business between them, yet they had to prioritize their needs against their daughter’s. Bas wasn’t used to having someone like Myst stand up to him because, hello High Blood Assassin, but it was entertaining to watch them clash. Bas needed to be put in his place because as sexy as this guy was, he was arrogant and dismissive of anyone that wasn’t him or his daughter. Of course part of Bas’ charm was his dry sense of humor that would pop up at unusual times. Myst didn’t exactly lack in the humor department either. She was more than capable of matching Bas’ sarcasm with a few snarky responses that sometimes caught him off guard. I’m so glad that Alexandra Ivy paired the very alpha Bas with the iron willed Myst because he would have stomped all over a lesser female. Where Bas was the physical strength, Myst was the intellectual strength and I loved that balance between them. That’s not to say Myst was a slouch at fighting because she wasn’t, she just had different methods. She was definitely one of those characters who made the best out of a bad situation but she’s been a loner for most of her life so connecting with others was new to her and I loved watching her learn that there were people she could count on. There’s always something going on in an Ivy book and Blood Lust was no exception. The main story is of course Bas and Myst’s journey to find out how to stop her vision from coming true but there’s also the accompanying story (and budding… something) of Lana, otherwise known as the Mave, aka the leader of the high bloods and Wolfe, the leader of the Sentinals. He seems to be the only one not intimidated by her power and there’s an attraction between them for sure. Really though, I loved how Bas went from despicable in the previous book, to reluctant and totally likable hero in this one. Ivy took his one positive quality which was his love for his daughter and used it as a stepping stone towards redeeming this dangerous, selfish, and cold character and I loved every step of the way. Bas and Myst weren’t the easiest couple but they are one of the most fun. The push and pull between them and the fun of watching them find their feet while co-parenting their daughter was worth the wait.

> 24 hourAs I was going thru my Kindle app and my TBR list, I wondered if I had read this book. I am a huge Alexandra Ivy fan and just could not fathom that I missed this one. After starting the book this weekend I realized that I had indeed read it and had not post the review as I had not read book 2, Blood Assassin and I have an attack if I dont read them in order. So to sum up I did not read book 2 but read book 3 and heres my review. Go figure. Lol... This is the story of Bas and Myst and as you all probably know by now, they had a child named Molly after a one night stand. Myst drops off Molly to Bas, disappears and reappears after 5 years. Right after Molly is returned from being kidnapped? Hmmmm suspicious? Maybe. Myst explains her disappearance and Bas, strong, totally lovable and will do anything to keep Myst here with him now and not lose her, decides that they will investigate the outcome of her fate and this power that spells Armageddon. In the end we are able to see the distrust that Bas had for Myst fall away and the love that they have for each other and Molly bloom. Another great job by the famous Ms. Ivy. Loved it so much! I cant believe I forgot to post this review...Lol 4.5 stars!!!!

> 24 hourThis was great! Blood Lust was interesting till the very end! I havent read the previous books, except for book 2.5, which I loved, so Im am definitely looking forward to reading the previous books as well as any future books in this series; especially what happens with Wolfe and Lana, who we get some glimpses of in Blood Lust; I love forbidden romances, and Im also looking forward to other books by Ivy. In Blood Lust, Bas daughter has recently been kidnapped, but luckily she has been saved unharmed. The kidnapping has brought her mother, Myst, back into their lives, but Bas isnt very trusting of Myst because after having one night with Myst, she disappeared, only to return 9 months later to leave their daughter, Molly, with Bas, and disappear again. Myst has her reason for leaving her daughter, but Bas doesnt know them, so his opinion of her isnt exactly pleasant. Im so glad the issue of why Myst left is solved rather quickly because I hate when people dont talk with each other, and arent honest about their feelings, so I was glad that Bas and Myst didnt play games with each other. Myst has had a vision that she will be responsible for creating a weapon that will kill her people, and she doesnt want the enemies of her people to get their hands on it, so she has been on the run. After hearing about Mysts problems, Bas decides he needs to help her out, so he and some his friends, are trying to figure out more about Mysts vision; what the weapon is, and how can they stop it. Bas is great, and I liked Myst too, and they have a sweet connection. The romance was adorable, and the intimate scenes have the right amount of steam. I enjoyed reading about Bas and Mysts connection growing as they learn more about each other. The action scenes were great too, and I love Ivys world building. I love reading books about warriors finding love, so Blood Lust was a terrific read for me, and Ivy does a really great job of drawing the reader into the story. I couldnt stop reading! Thats always a good sign!
