03-11-202403 Honda Accord EX: One of the easiest things I have done on the Honda. Old struts gave out and I had been using a wood prop rod to keep the hood open. I didnt think it was worth spending a large amount of money to replace them. I was shocked when I decided to investigate cost and saw how inexpensive they were. I ordered and the package arrived quickly via Amazon Prime and was packaged well. It took longer to get the 10mm socket and small screwed driver out than it did to replace these. They are not left/right oriented so you do not have to worry about putting them on the wrong side. Its helpful to have assistance in someone holding the hood open at just the right place to easily start the bolts when installing but it can be done solo. I installed one and that alone was enough to hold the hood up. I should have done this a couple years ago!

> 3 dayI like the fact that my car’s hood is very “springy” when released from the latch.

> 3 dayPackaged great, but no instructions. Had to remove both before the new ones would fit. 5-10 minute install. Hopefully they last as long as the original did.

> 3 dayI slapped these bad boys on our 2006 Honda Accord in about 10 minutes! They seem to be decent quality (only time will tell) and the hood stays open like it should. There’s a little metal clip that holds the strut to the ball socket..... just pry it down (you’ll be able to see a slot on the new one and anyone with any common sense should be able to figure it out). After you slide the new strut on the ball, just slide the clip back to its rightful position to lock it in.
