> 3 dayI have one but needed a 2nd for a different cage. Bird loves to perch underneath. Not too hot that Im concerned about any danger. Worth the cost.

> 3 dayI got this because my 30 year old Macaw started chewing her feathers. It has not helped with this issue, however she seems happier and more playful again.

Greater than one weekLove this, fast shipping, best price on the internet, I received this yesterday, put it on this morning, my cockateil and parakeet have been singing like crazy this morning. I figure will be great when at work, I can slide the playtop drawer out and they get lots of light while Im gone. I did not find it as flimsy as the other reviews I have read, so glad I purchased it! When surfing the web checking prices, most did not come with the bulb included like this one did.

> 3 dayThis was purchased to give the daylight that my indoor macaw needed to mimic the outdoors. He loves it.

> 3 dayThis light fixture is wobbly and it is not bright enough. I am going to have to order a high spectrum light bulb to go in an overhang fixture like I use to have. Just not much light at all for my African Grey. It seems to have gotten dimmer in a short time.

> 3 dayAnd I am happy to know that she is getting better light. I was slightly stumped when putting it together until I realized I could pull down on the cord to assemble the two pieces. I think this should be addressed in the instructions for those of us not mechanically inclined. Unless it wears out fast, I would definitely buy again. Ive had it about 3 months and so far, so good.

> 3 dayI wish I’d gotten this light a long time ago! It is a good product for the price, easy to assemble & sturdy as well. I really think it has made a difference in my Indian ring-necked parakeet’s feathers & also his moods. He has been much less “grumpy” than he was before!

> 3 dayThis is the first day in use. I thought my very sensitive feather plucking African Grey would be afraid of it. It was just the opposite, my BGM who is easy going was afraid at first. She is slowly warming up to it. My African Gray immediately loved it and is currently hanging upside down on top of his cage! I cant speak to the longevity of the bulb but the product went together easily and is very sturdy. We recently moved from Florida where they were use to being outside all day to Western Pa where it is cold and dark!

> 3 dayIn the past, I had used a standard, horizontal floor lamp for my avian bulbs, but when that one developed issues, I decided to go with the official Zoo Med Labs floor lamp. I like that it has a reflective and safe coating inside the hood to improve light distribution. And assembling it is a breeze -- just screw the pieces together, no tools required. I am disappointed, however, that I cannot adjust the height by leaving out sections since the power cord is pre-strung through the tubes. Even when I adjust the gooseneck, its too tall to be optimal for my cage set-up. From the floor to the start of the gooseneck, its about 55. The adjustable gooseneck adds a minimum of 4 to that. If you need a higher arrangement, thats easier to achieve than a lower one. Considering that this comes with the pricey AvianSun fluorescent bulb, its a great deal. Although I wouldnt call this an attractive lamp, its unassuming enough to use in a living space. Ive learned over the years that an avian bulb makes birds both happier and healthier. They need both UVA and UVB rays. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
