I thought this was a heat lamp also, but it is not. Its just to provide UV light to help process vitamin D, etc. I thought our bird would be afraid of it, but he didnt seem to mind (we have it above his cage from time to time, to provide additional sunlight.) A good purchase if your bird does not get enough natural sunlight and you want to supplement it from time to time.

Since using these lamps I have notice my birds spend less time in the higher levels of their aviary and socialize more in the mid-section where their toys and enrichment items are. Not to mention, they are more vocal, and now chew less on their aviary and chew on their chew toys!

very good product my birds love it only problem is it can burn you and keratinize your skin so make sure you turn it off when cleaning

Like the new neck and power switch- much more streamlined and sleek than the older model. I have a large, tall flight cage, so I elected to mount the light on the body of the cage using pipe fittings instead of the weighted base: moving the cage/light unit is a breeze. Good strong light- keeps my conures happy and active

The product itself was great, cane fast and yhe return as well. Will be repurchasing. The problem was the package was already opened and damaged. I dont believe it was checked from the previous return or what is wrong with it. The actual light bulb hardware fell out when we had it together and attempted to screw in the bulb. No big deal. Ill reorder.

The lamp is used for artificial sunlight over our Cockatoo’s cage. Works great.

My cockatiels love this light! They become very active and loud when its on, sits well above their cage to give them some healthy light. Personally have not tested if it even gives off any uv, but they sure like it.

What a waste of money. Wobbly and not secure at all. Poorly designed.

Came on time just as described.
