Zoo Med Labs Aviansun Deluxe Floor Lamp with Aviansun,Silver,3.4 x 11.5 x 22.5"

So I normally dont write to many reviews but i definitely have to review this product. It was super easy to assemble and it seems to be good quality. But the reason I decide to review this product is because its made a huge diffrence on my birds behaviour. At first my female quaker was terrified of it but after a few hours near it she got over it, but omg what a remarkable difference in her behaviour. Since I put it up shes been singing, talking and chirping none stop. Ive had my bird for a month now n I never heard her speak but since I put this up she finally gave us her first word (hello). Not only is she talking alot more but her stress bars wich is why I bought this in the first place, has faded away. She seems alot happier now. I definitely recommend this light !! It was well worth the money.

In the past, I had used a standard, horizontal floor lamp for my avian bulbs, but when that one developed issues, I decided to go with the official Zoo Med Labs floor lamp. I like that it has a reflective and safe coating inside the hood to improve light distribution. And assembling it is a breeze -- just screw the pieces together, no tools required. I am disappointed, however, that I cannot adjust the height by leaving out sections since the power cord is pre-strung through the tubes. Even when I adjust the gooseneck, its too tall to be optimal for my cage set-up. From the floor to the start of the gooseneck, its about 55. The adjustable gooseneck adds a minimum of 4 to that. If you need a higher arrangement, thats easier to achieve than a lower one. Considering that this comes with the pricey AvianSun fluorescent bulb, its a great deal. Although I wouldnt call this an attractive lamp, its unassuming enough to use in a living space. Ive learned over the years that an avian bulb makes birds both happier and healthier. They need both UVA and UVB rays. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Like the new neck and power switch- much more streamlined and sleek than the older model. I have a large, tall flight cage, so I elected to mount the light on the body of the cage using pipe fittings instead of the weighted base: moving the cage/light unit is a breeze. Good strong light- keeps my conures happy and active

This light is exactly what we needed. Sometimes its just too hot to put the birds outside or I dont have time on a particular day to make sure they get natural sunlight. This is a good substitute for those days. I have it on a timer, so the birds can stay on a regular schedule.

Light pole and goose neck too flimsy and not stable.

The stand is great but the light burned out within a week. For a light advertised as lasting 1000s of hours, I’m disappointed. No way to contact the seller but would not recommend this.

I have one but needed a 2nd for a different cage. Bird loves to perch underneath. Not too hot that Im concerned about any danger. Worth the cost.
